Multiple sclerosis is a chronic disorder commonly occurred in the central nervous system and is an autoimmune disease. Corticosteroids are used as a short-term treatment for multiple sclerosis, but they cause side effects. Therefore, interferon beta having antiviral and anti-inflammatory effects, is used for long-term treatment. Interferon beta-1a, produced in Chinese hamster ovary cells, is glycosylated upon biosynthesis and forms glycoform, which is similar to naturally occurring protein. However, its process has disadvantages such as slow cell growth, low yield and high contamination possibility. Also, recombinant Escherichia coli is widely used for the production of interferon beta-1b due to its rapid growth and easy process scale up, but it lacks post-translational modification, leading to low activity. In addition, the produced Interferon beta-1b might cause protein aggregation due to misfolding. Alternatively, yeast can be used as a production host possessing N-glycosylation activity. Therefore, the choice of expression system in the production of interferon beta should be carefully selected in relation to the quality and yield.

장애인복지관 실무자를 위한 발달장애인의 자기결정 평가척도 개발 연구

본 연구는 장애인복지관 실무자들이 사용할 수 있는 발달장애인의 자기결정 평가 척도를 개발하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위해 먼저, 발달장애인 부모 6명, 그리고 10년 이상의 실무경험이 있는 장애인복지 전문가 6명을 대상으로 각각 2회 씩 총 4회 실시한 초점집단인터뷰 결과 및 선행연구 검토를 종합하여 구성요인 및 예비문항을 설정하였다. 이어서 발달장애인 부모 6명, 현장 전문가 6명, 장애인복지학계 4명 등 총 14명을 대상으로 예비문항에 대한 내용타당도를 검증하였다. 마지막으로 전국 장애인복지관에서 발달장애인에게 서비스를 제공하고 있는 사회복지사 900명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 분석결과, 본 연구에서 최종 개발된 발달장애인의 자기결정 평가척도는 맥락적 자기통제, 자아효능감, 자기이해, 권리인식 등 총 4개 요인 18문항으로 구성되었다. 본 연구는 발달장애인의 자기결정 수준과 양상에 대한 보다 정확한 파악이 가능해질 수 있다는 실천적 함의와 사회적 모델의 핵심 개념 중 하나인 장애인의 자기결정을 측정 가능한 수준으로 이끌어냈다는 점에서 학문적 함의를 갖는다. The purpose of this study is to develop a self-determination assessment scale for people with developmental disabilities that can be used by practitioners in the disabled welfare center. For this purpose, the components and preliminary questions were set up by compiling the results of a total of four focus group interviews conducted twice each for six parents with developmental disabilities and six experts in the field of welfare for the disabled with more than 10 years of practical experience, and prior research reviews. Subsequently, the validity of the preliminary questions was tested by 16 people, including 6 parents with developmental disabilities, 6 field experts, and 4 researchers in the field of welfare for the disabled. Finally, a survey was conducted on 900 social workers who are providing services to people with developmental disabilities at welfare centers for the disabled. As a result of the analysis, the final self-determination assessment scale for people with developmental disabilities was developed consisting of 18 questions with 4 sub-dimensions: contextual self-regulation, self-efficacy, self-understanding, and recognition of rights. This article provides academic implications that it made the self-determination of people with developmental disabilities, one of the key concepts of social models, to a measurable level, and practical implications that more accurate understanding of self-determination level and aspect of people with developmental disabilities can be made.
