영어 의사소통능력 향상을 위한 연어지도의 효과: 메타분석을 중심으로

This study aims to identify the effectiveness of collocation instruction for Korean EFL students based on a meta-analysis. The meta-analysis of 24 studies published in the field of English language education led to several meaningful results. First, collocation instruction in English education showed significant effects on EFL learners in both linguistic and affective domains. Second, the positive effect sizes for language skills in the linguistic domain were demonstrated among different school levels: elementary (.884), middle (.612), and high schools (.435). Interestingly, the effect sizes for the affective domain were slightly different from those of language skills among the school levels; middle (.646), high (.592), and elementary schools (.257). Third, productive language skills were highly improved through collocation instruction. Most of all, the greatest improvement was found in writing (.989) and speaking skills (.958), which are said to be difficult to learn in a traditional EFL classroom environment. Finally, receptive language skills showed small effect size (.350) through collocation instruction. Educational implications related to collocation instruction were also discussed.
Properties of cellulose nanofibers from various natural sources and preparation techniques

Cellulose is the most abundant biopolymer on earth and is found in the cell walls of green plants, cotton, some marine animals, also some bacteria. Cellulose nanofibers (CNFs) are generally produced by mechanical treatment or chemical treatment, such as ultra-sonication, acid hydrolysis, TEMPO-oxidation, and enzymatic hydrolysis. These nanofibers show different properties as well as morphological shapes depending on their original raw sources and treatment methods. Therefore, we prepared CNF films by changing their sources and separation techniques. Morphology and light transmittance of the film were observed by a field emission scanning electron microscope (FE-SEM) and a UVvis spectrophotometer. Mechanical performances of the samples were measured by a tensile testing. The crystallinities of the CNFs were determined by X-ray diffractometer (XRD).
중학교 학습자들의 모국어 읽기전략, 영어 읽기전략, 영어 읽기능력 사이의 관계 분석

The purpose of this study is to investigate the correlation among L1 reading and L2 reading strategy use, and the levels of L2 reading proficiency of Korean middle school students. 143 students from 7th to 8th grade participated in the survey, responding to 5-Likert self assessment questionnaire. The methods of correlation and MANOVA of SPSS ver. 18 were used. The results of the study were as follows: First, there were a strong correlation between L1 and L2 reading strategy use, and a moderate correlation between L2 reading strategy use and the levels of L2 reading proficiency. A positive correlation was shown between the levels of L2 reading proficiency and L1 reading strategy use. Second, the use of L2 reading strategies and the levels of L1 reading proficiency varied according to the levels of students L1 reading strategy use. For example students of the high-level group used more L2 reading strategies than those of the mid-level group; students of the mid-level group used more L2 reading strategies than those of the low-level group whereas only the levels of L2 reading proficiency of the high- and low-level groups could be distinguished from each other. The results of the study imply that the ability of using L1 reading strategy affects the ability of using L2 reading strategy strongly and it also weakly affects the level of L2 reading proficiency.
Clay-Ca-alginate nanocomposites inspired by the complexstructure of nacre

조개의 진주층은 높은 파괴인성과 인장강도를 가져, 우수한 기계적 성질을 지닌 물질로 잘 알려져 있다. 기존의 나노복합재와 달리, 진주층은 아주 높은 무기물 함량과 독특한 분자 단위의 구조를 보여준다. 즉, 95% aragonite 나노결정(CaCO3)과 5% 고분자로 이루어진 brick-and-mortar 구조이다. 이러한 구조 덕분에, 순수한 탄산칼슘에 비해서 진주층은 높은 기계적 성질을 가진다. 그래서 이런 진주층의 구조적 특성을 모방하여, montmorillonite 함량이 높은 clay - Calciumalginate 복합재를 제조하였다. 본 연구에서 MMT-Calcium alginate복합재를 제조하였고, MMT 및 Ca-alginate의 함량을 비교하여 복합재의 기계적 성질을 측정하였다. 또한 복합재의 층상구조는 SEM전자현미경을 통하여 확인하였다. 본clay 복합재는 자연계에서 생분해될 수 있는 alginate matrix를 사용하였으므로 친환경 엔지니어링 복합재로 활용될 수 있다.
Improving mechanical properties of bioinspired Clay-Cellulose Nanofibers composites

In nature, nacre has the hierarchical brick-and-mortar structures and precise inorganic-organic interfaces, which enable it to achieve remarkably high fracture toughness and tensile strength. Because of these properties, nacre-mimetics hold great potential as mechanical high-performance and functional materials. Previously, we have fabricated nacre-like nanocomposites via vacuum filtration of montmorillonite (MMT) and cellulose nanofibers(CNFs) mixtures. Although the composites exhibited higher strength and toughness than pure MMT and CNFs, we tried to improve the mechanical properties further y by additional post treatmentsive work. In this study, adding polymers and cross-linking were introduced to improve the mechanical propertiesy of the composites. The resulting materials were analyzed by a Scanning electron microscopy(SEM), an X-ray diffraction(XRD), and a tensile tester. We compare the resulting mechanical properties with the previous results.
Nacre mimetic cellulose-based nanocomposites

Although nacre (mother of pearl) is composed of mostly brittle aragonite (CaCO3) nanoplatelets and little amount of biopolymers, it shows superior mechanical properties because of its hierarchical brick-andmortar structures from molecular to macro levels. In this research, we fabricated montmorillonite (MMT)-cellulose nanofiber (CNF) nanocomposites by a simple filtration process to mimic nacre structure for enhancing its mechanical performances. We compared the properties of MMT/ CNF composites by varying MMT/CNF ratio, which was characterized by a scanning electron microscope (SEM), an X-ray diffraction (XRD), and a Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR). The opacity of the composites was decreased compared to pure MMT films, and selfextinguish property was also observed. Furthermore, relatively high toughness and strength were obtained by measuring in a tensile tester. These results suggest that our MMT-CNF composites have a potential replacement of commercial polymers.
