The efficient scheduling in construction management is one of the most important factor to reduce project cost and its duration. As the recent construction projects are growing huse and more complicated, too much efforts have to be paid to set up the optimistic policy of a project. In this paper, the mobilization of tower-cranes and work-men between the blocks became a major problem because the time to dismantle/set up a tower-crane resulted in the idle time of the work-men. To reduce the total idle time of work-men, many policies of construction sequences were simulated by computer. Thus, one of the most efficient could be obtained by this simulation technique.

The application area of real-time system has been rapidly expanded in the fields of aerospace, automatic manufacturing, robot control, and many compuer-assisted control systems. Real-time system has some characteristics different from those of ordinary computer system. The characteristics come from the fact real-time system must strictly meet time-constraints for each task. In many systems, task scheduling issue is the most important factor to improve system performance. In this paper, the scheduling overhead problem has been dealt with for soft real-time system and a method to enhance perdictability for the system has been suggested.

Most of ancient Oriental books which have great importance to study the Orient were written in Chinese characters. The information represented by Chinese characters is usually hard for us to deal with because most of ancient books written in Chinese characters have great volume and do not have indices for their content. In Korea, history of the Lee Dynasty was written from the first King Tae-jo to King Chul-jong for 472 years. Since it contains more than 60 million Chinese characters, its also becomes a difficult problem to find the locations of a specific sentence or set of characters such as the name of a person or an event. In the paper, a method to store the whole content of the Lee Dynasty Cronicle (Chosun-Wangjo-Sillok) and to find the locations of an item was considered. Using 3-Byte Chinese character code, the whole file size becomes about 500MB including index file, so only one disk unit, like IBM 3370 disk, is sufficient to store the retrieval system. To retrieve the locations of an item, only 50,000 comparisons are needed in main memory on an average, which would take several minutes.

Software error detecting technique is one of the most important factors in enhancing the productivity of software development. In this paper, a couple of static error detecting methods are discussed, such as the data flow analysis and the symbolic execution method. Some ways to find program anomalies and remove useless program repetition structures are dealt with using the data flow analysis method. Some aspects in using the symbolic execution method are also mentioned.

Multiprocessor hardware system has been rapidly developed and its related software system technology has been also improved. In multiprocessor operating systems, process scheduling problem becomes one of the most significant issues which influence on the global system performance. In this paper, an efficient process scheduling technique in shared memory multiprocessor system has been considered. Simulation results showed performance differences between two process scheduling algorithms. Process scheduling using priority ceiling protocol yields enhanced performance compared to equal priority process scheduling. But process scheduling by the priority ceiling protocol can cause unbalance on the priority assignment because of the preference to the processes which use shared bus frequently. This problem can be solved by three dynamic priority assignment methods : request-threshold priority policy, request-proportional priority policy, and priority compensation policy.

General simulation tools for the queuing model have employed inadequate functions for the process synchronization and mainly adopted transaction-based processing; so, they cannot be properly used for the kernel software systems simulation. This paper suggests a guide to the development of a simulation tool for the kernel software systems simulation using the enhanced concurrent Pascal (COPASCAL+) which includes time-driven process scheduling, multiple semaphore function, dynamic process creation, and some useful built-in functions for the simulation.
不完全 Relational Data Model의 특성에 관한 硏究

The incomplete information in a relational database system should be treated as important as the complete one. Some necessary and precise informations can be drawn from incomplete database systems by means of their appropriate manipulation using logical inference. In this paper, a model of incomplete information system and functional dependencies between attributes which have incomplete entities are discussed. A method to find objects which correspond to a given querry is also considered from the view of internal and external interpretations of the system.
