The friction force of patterned needle in elastomer have been investigated to verify the application for bio and plastic industry. The micro pattern on the needle surface were prepared by 266 nm, 20 ns laser and 800 nm, 220 fs laser, which were able to generate the different surface roughness. The friction force was measured by the load cell of 10 N capacity. As the results, the friction force of no patterned needle is almost constant during the needle penetrates the silicone rubber sample. However, the needle having asperities shows the variation of the friction force. The higher the surface roughness is, the smaller the friction force is until the surface roughness is very high. In our experiment conditions, the reduction of the friction force by 20 % compared to no pattern needle was achieved with straight and 50 μm discrete line generated by 266 nm, 20 ns laser.

To enhance biocompatibility between the orthopedic implant stem and obsteoblast cells, boneforming cells, micro-size holes are patterned in Ti plate surface. Initially, the house built laser power stabilization system is applied to the laser micro patterning machine to convince repeatable result. Various pulse widths are irradiated Ti plate and relationship between diameters of patterned holes and pulsed width is derived. Effect of multi pulse is observed and optimal pulse number is considered to avoid heat affected zone. After MG-63 osbeoblast cells are cultured, micro patterned Ti plates are compared with control plates. In SEM image, cells are well aligned and aggregation is observed in both 60, and 100μm patterned plates. Finally, free form surface stem model is prepared to test micro hole patterning.

현대 의류 산업이 발전하면서 대량 생산, 대량 유통됨에 따라 의류 일회성이 일반화되어 환경 문제와 함께 사회적 문제도 발생하고 있다. 쿨레만 (Anne-Kathrin Kuhlemann) 의 논문에 따르면 “옷 입는 횟수를 2 배로 늘리면 의류 산업에서 배출되는 탄소량을 44%까지 감축시킬 수 있다.” 는 연구 결과가 있다. 본 논문에서는 의류 커스텀 및 리폼 디자인 공유 웹 플랫폼을 개발하여 생산자와 소비자, 디자이너가 함께 의류 산업 제로 웨이스트를 실천하는 커뮤니티를 조성한다. 이를 통해 소비자의 소비 습관을 변화시키고, 지속 가능한 의류 산업 발전을 이끌어 나갈 수 있는 발판을 마련하고자 한다.

To compensate location error of ultrasonic horn, the laser scanning system based on the galvanometer scanner is developed. It consists of the 3-Axis linear stage and the 2-Axis galvanometer scanner. To measure surface shape of three-dimensional free form surface, the dynamic focusing unit is adopted, which can maintain consistent focal plane. With combining the linear stage and the galvanometer scanner, the scanning area is enlarged. The scanning CAD system is developed by stage motion teaching and NURBS method. The laser scanning system is tested by marking experiment with the semi-cylindrical sample. Scanning accuracy is investigated by measured laser marked line width with various scanning speed.

A micro magnetic bearing system with five degrees of freedom active control has been designed for a miniature spindle to be used in a μ-factory. A shaft of the micro spindle is suspended by five set of hybrid magnetic bearings at each side of the shaft. Permanent magnets produce bias magnetic flux for the magnetic bearings and an electric motor(Φ 24,70W) is set between the magnetic bearings. Five eddy current sensors are used to measure the shaft position. An analytical model of the system is developed for the design purpose. This model is verified through 3-D finite element analysis. A prototype spindle is designed and currently under construction.

One of the obstacles for a magnetic bearing to be used in the wide range of industrial applications is the failure modes associated with magnetic bearings. These failure modes include power amplifier faults, position sensor faults, and the malfunction of controllers. Fault-tolerant magnetic bearing systems have been proposed so that the system can operate in spite of some faults. In this paper, we designed and tested a fault-tolerant magnetic bearing system. The system can cope with the actuator faults as well as the faults in position sensors, which are the two major fault modes in a magnetic bearing system.
