        배양된 사람 치주인대세포와 골수유래간엽줄기세포의 분화에 미치는 법랑기질유도체 (Enamel Matrix Derivative, EMD)의 영향

        Introduction: Enamel matrix derivative (EMD) is a protein which is secreted by Hertwig root sheath and plays a major role in the formation of cementum and attachment of peridontium. Several studies have shown that EMD promoted the proliferation and differentiation of preosteoblasts, osteoblasts and periodontal ligament cells in vitro: however, reports showing the inhibition of osteogenic differentiation by EMD also existed. This study was designed to simultaneously evaluate the effect of EMD on the two cell lines (human mesenchymal stem cells: hMSC, human periodontal ligament derived fibroblasts: hPDLCs) by means of quantitative analysis of some bone related matrices (Alkaline phosphatase : ALP, osteopontin ; OPN, osteocalcin ; OC). Materials and Methods: hMSCs and hPDLCs were expanded and cells in the 4${\sim}$6 passages were adopted to use. hMSc and hPDLCs were cultured during 1,2,7, and 14 days with 0, 50 and 100 ${\mu}g/ml$ of EMD, respectively. ALP activity was assessed by SensoLyte ALP kit and expressed as values of the relative optical density. Among the matrix proteins of the bony tissue, OC and OPN were assessed and quantification of these proteins was evaluated by means of human OC immunoassay kit and human OPN assay kit, respectively. Results: ALP activity maintained without EMD at $1,2^{nd}$ day. The activity increased at $7^{th}$ day but decreased at $14^{th}$ day. EMD increased the activity at $14^{th}$ day in the hPDLCs culture. In the hMSCs, rapid decrease was noted in $7^{th}$ and $14^{th}$ days without regard to EMD concentrations. Regarding the OPN synthesis in hPDLCs, marked decrease of OPN was noted after EMD application. Gradual decrease tendency of OPN was shown over time. In hMSCs, marked decrease of OPN was also noted after EMD application. Overall concentration of OPN was relatively consistent over time than that in hPDLCs. Regarding the OC synthesis, in both of hPDLCs and hMSCs, inhibition of OC formation was noted after EMD application in the early stages but EMD exerted minimal effect at the later stages. Conclusion: In this experimental condition, EMD seemed to play an inhibitory role during the differentiation of hMSCs and hPDLCs in the context of OC and OPN formation. In the periodontium, there are many kinds of cells contributing to the regeneration of oral tissue. EMD enhanced ALP activity in hPDLCs rather than in hMSCs and this may imply that EMD has a positive effect on the differentiation of cementoblasts compared with the effect on hMSCs. The result of our research was consistent with recent studies in which the authors showed the inhibitory effect of EMD in terms of the differentiation of mineral colony forming cells in vitro. This in vitro study may not stand for all the charateristics of EMD; thus, further studies involving many other bone matrices and cellular attachment will be necessary.

        Numerical analysis were made on a two-dimensional laminar flow and heat transfer around surface-mounted ribs in a channel with the finte difference method for solving Navier-Stokes and Energy equations. numerical calculation were made on the channel heigh to rib heigh ratio(2∼4), rib width to rib heigh ratio (1∼4), at Reynolds number 100∼400, and Prandtl numbers 0.01∼10 under the conditon of uniform heat flux and wall temperature. The local and overall heat transfer feature are clarified in relation to the flow behaviors around surface-mounted ribs. The Nusselt numbers on the base surface increase with decrease of the H/h ratio, however, the w/h ratio results in no essential change of Nusselt number.

        One of the most important problems that a large divisionalized firm faces, is to coordinate and control division or enterprise manger's behavior so that division manager may act in congruence with the goals of corporate headquarters. The corporate headquart in large divisionalized firms and the planning bureau in a centralized soviet economy face many similar problems of coordination and control. For solving these problems, incentive systems have been developed and used in USSR, and it is often said that these incentive systems are effective under specific situations. In this paper, focusing two basic properties (informational and motivational one) that managerial incentive systems should have, we analyzed the preceeding papers which modeled soviet incentive systems. The result of analyzing soviet incentive system under the diverse situations assumed is as follows : 1. In case that resource allocation problems are not considered in soviet incentive system. it has motivational advantage in any situation, but has informational advantage only under certainty. 2. In case that resource allocation problems are considered in soviet incentive system, it has motivational advantage in any situation, but has'nt informational advantage in any situation. 3. In case that soviet incentive system is extended to mutiperiod, it has neither motivational advantage nor informational advantage in any situation.

        고추냉이 정단배양에 있어서 BA 농도 및 배양방법에 따른 기내증식 효과

        Effect of BA concentrations and culture methods on in vitro plant multiplication from shoot-tip cultures of Wasabia japonica was studied. Shoot-tips with leaf primordia and apical meristem were cultured on MS basal medium for all the experiments. Liquid medium for 2 weeks followed by semi-solid medium for 4 weeks containing 1.0 mg/L BA was the best to number of shoots (22.8) and shoot length (3.5 cm). Shoots proliferated could be divided into ca. 5 to 11 of cultures for the multiplication of plantlets. Divided plantlets showed root formation (90%) well onto MS basal medium without growth regulators like IBA and NAA. After rooting, all the plantlets transferred into the pots containing composed soil (bio-media Co., peatmoss 8~10%, coir dust 66~70%, zeolite 13~17%, vermiculite 3~7%, perlite 2~4%) and grown well into whole plants with multiple shoots.

        First Report of Botryosphaeria parva Causing Stem Blight on Rubus crataegifolius in Korea

        In 2015, stem blight of Rubus crataegifolius was observed in Pohang, Korea. The symptoms began as dark red spots in the stem, which led to stem blight, then leaf blight, and eventually resulted in death. A fungal isolate was obtained from a symptomatic stem and incubated on a potato dextrose agar plate. The isolated fungus produced white, cloudy mycelia turned black in 3 days. Based on the morphological characteristics, the causal fungus was assumed to be Botryosphaeria sp. A pathogenicity test was conducted according to Koch’s postulates. To identify the causal agent, the combined sequence of the internal transcribed spacer, β-tubulin, and translation elongation factor 1α genes were used for phylogenetic analysis. Approximately 1,200 bp of the combined sequence clearly suggested that the isolated pathogen was Botryosphaeria parva. This is the ἀrst report on stem blight in R. crataegifolius caused by B. parva in Korea.

        교도소에 수용 중인 비행청소년에 대한 자존감 향상 프로그램 효과

        본 연구는 교도소에 수용 중인 비행청소년 14명을 대상으로 15시간 총 10회기의 자존감 향상 프로그램을 실시하여 그 효과를 알아본 것이다. 통제 집단은 아무런 처치도 받지 않은 집단이었다. 프로그램의 내용은 오리엔테이션과 적성검사, 직업윤리와 직업의 의의, 자신의 장점과 귀중한 것을 찾아보기, 사회적 조망과 공감, 긍정적 감정 표현하기, 부정적 감정 표현하기, 분노관리하기, 충동관리하기, 문제해결과 스트레스 관리, 미래의 자기 모습 그리기와 마무리하기 등이다. 프로그램에서는 시청각 자료와 역할연기 등의 방법을 사용하였다. 프로그램을 실시한 결과, 프로그램 참여자들은 자존감 점수가 향상된 것으로 나타났다. 이 연구 결과는 교도소에 수용 중인 비행청소년을 대상으로 한 자존감 향상 프로그램이 효과가 있음을 시사하고 있다. This study evaluated the impact of a program for improving the self-esteem of fourteen juvenile delinquents in prison. The experimental group received a total of fifteen hours of treatment and no treatment was given to the control group. The program included the following:orientation and attitude test; vocational ethics and the meaning of one's job; awareness of one's self merit and importance; social perspectives and sympathy; expression of positive emotions; expression of negative emotions; anger management; impulse management; problem solving and stress management; and the ability to envision a mental picture of one's future and goals. The procedures for a program for improving the self-esteem included audio-visual materials and role-playing. The results indicated that the group assigned to a program for improving the self-esteem had higher self-esteem scores. The results suggest that the implementation of a program for improving the self-esteem has a positive impact for juvenile delinquents in prison.
