Enlarging and extending the Gulpo stream Drainage Canal operated only during rainy season. Kyung-in Canal will serve not only for preventiong flood, but for reducing logistics cost also in the Seoul Metropolitan Area

문자인식은 패턴인식의 한 분야로서, 눈을 통하여 얻은 시각정보를 바탕으로 문자를 인식하고 이로부터 그 의미를 이해하는 사람의 인지능력을 컴퓨터로 실현하려는 시도로서 1970년대 이후부터 활발한 연구가 진행되어 오고 있다. 연주주편인 슬라브나 빌렛 재질의 단면에 마킹된 소재관리번호를 소재가 열연공정으로 이동하기 전에 철강공정 상에서 실시간으로 소재관리 번호를 인식하기 위한 인식 알고리즘 개발에 관해 연구하였다. 이를 위해 획득한 주편 소재의 단면 영상에 대해 전처리 필터를 적용하여 노이즈를 제거시킨 그레이레벨 영상에 대해 대략적인 번호영역을 추출한 후, 개별 번호영역을 추출하여 최종적으로 소재의 관리번호를 추출하는 방법을 사용하였다. Character recognition is included in the pattern recognition. This recognition technique recognize character, which was obtained from vision information by use human eyes, and realize recognition technique through the computer system. This paper describes real time recognition algorithm about material management characters of slab and billet in the steel plant. For the recognition, pre filter is applied to the captured image of material for the rejection of noise and then, obtain character area from gray image. Individual characters are obtained from character area by the projection methods, and finally recognize characters by use recognition algorithm.

The flow characteristics of a diaphragm valve has been analyzed numerically. The flow in a diaphragm valve and inlet and outlet pipes are modeled. The pressure distribution and the streamline distribution have been analyzed by using a CFD software, ANSYS Fluent. Some regions with reverse pressure gradients and a region with no flow are observed. To improve the flow characteristics, a diaphragm valve with an asymmetric weir and with a fillet are suggested. The suggested valve shows 26% of improved flow rate and improved linearity than the original diaphragm valve.
Pyramid VQ를 이용한 AMR-WB+ 코덱 내 TCX 모듈의 성능 개선

In this paper, we Propose a pyramid VQ to quantize the transform coefficients of TCX module for the audio improvement of AMR-WB+ codec. The Proposed pyramid VQ is compared to the $RE_8$ Lattice VQ used in the AMR-WB+ standard codec. demonstrating improvement 4% and 5.7%. respectively, in Mean Squared Error (MSE) and 3.3% and 4.7%. respectively, in Perceptual Evaluation of Audio Quality (PEAQ) by 8-dimensional and 16-dimensional Pyramid VQ. 본 논문은 AMR-WB+ 코덱의 오디오 품질을 개선하기 위하여 TCX모듈 변환계수 양자화기에 8차 및 16차 Pyramid VQ방식을 제안하였다. 제안된 Pyramid VQ 방식은 AMR-WB+ 코덱에 적용된 $RE_8$ Lattice VQ 방식과 비교 평가되었으며, 8차 및 16차 Pyramid VQ 방식의 사용시 Mean Squared Error (MSE)는 각각 4% 및 5.7% 개선되었고, Perceptual Evaluation of Audio Quality(PEAQ) 값은 각각 3.3% 및 4.7% 개선되었다.
저온 주사 레이저 현미경(LTSLM)을 이용한 YBCO 초전도 선재의 불균질성 연구

Low temperature scanning laser microscopy (LTSLM) can be used for a two-dimensional display of bolometric response arising from the localized excitation of a sample by the focused laser beam. In this study, the distribution of critical temperature ($T_c$) and critical current density ($J_c$) in YBCO coated conductor were analyzed using LTSLM. For improving the temperature stability, we have modified the system into a double-shielding type. Through the modification, the temperature stability was successfully improved from ${\pm}10mK\;to\;{\pm}2mK$. The superconducting properties of YBCO coated conductors were measured for the sample of a narrow bridge type using wet etching process. The spatial non-uniformity of the ac voltage response, ${\delta}V(x)$, which is proportional to ${\partial}\rho(x,J_B)/{\partial}T$ in the transition temperature region could be observed and displayed in a two-dimensional image.

The ground anchoring has been utilized over 40 years. It is growing the application of the removal ground anchor with tension force for holding earth retaining constructions in the city. It transmits tension stress of prestressed steel wire through grouting to fixed the ground that is of great advantage adjacent ground stability. Nowadays, we can find the compression dispersion anchor on many site. But, it has some problems in behavior of anchors because of impossible to tense p.c strand uniformly under the existing equipment due to different length of p c strand. Hence, motive of this research was to study the application of the newly developed tension system, that analyze and compare with the current anchoring method build on the data of in-site test and laboratory test. As a result, in case of auto back tension system, it became clear that tension pressure was equally distributed among the steal wires but the existing tension system showed sign of instability by indicating stress deflection of about 30% compare with design load. This can cause an ultimate failure of the concentrated p.c strand and a shear failure of ground.
