에너지 비용의 상승에 따라 추출에 기본원리를 둔 새로운 분리공정에 대한 연구가 많이 진행되고 있으며, 이에 따라 액-액평형 조성의 계산 및 예측에 대한 필요성이 매우 증가하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 공비혼합물을 형성하는 2-propanol 수용액에 용매로서 methyl ethyl ketone, methyl isobutyl ketone, ethylacetate, butylacetate, toluene 및 o-xylene을 첨가한 삼성분계에 대하여 25℃에서 용해도곡선, tie line, plait point, 분배계수와 선택도를 실험을 통해 구하였다. Tie line 데이터의 열역학적 건전성을 확인하였으며 실험값을 NRTL 및 UNIQUAC 모델식으로 구한 계산값과 비교하였다. Due to the rising cost of energy, new separation processes based on extraction are becoming more attractive than before. Consistency of the experimental data for several correlations was investigated, the experimental tie line data were correlated with NRTL model and the parameters in NRTL model were estimated and the calculated values of tie lines were predicted.

The experimemtal binodal curve and tie line data were determined for ternary systems of 2-propanol-water with benzene, toluene and n-butyl acetate as solvents at 25℃. These experimental data were compared with values predicted from UNIFAC model, using group contribution method. From these results the deviation between experimental and calculated equilibrium composition were very small, so it was proved that UNIFAC is good model to predect multicomponent equilibria.

The experimental binodal curves and tie-lines were determined for solvent-KF salt solution-2-propanol system at 25℃, and those tie-line were used to test thermodynamic consistency. The KF salt solutions were prepared with 5% aqueous solution. The experimental tie-line data were correlated with NRTL and UNIQUAC model, and the parameters and the calculated values of tie-line were predicted. The effect of salt addition on liquid-liquid equilibria was also studied along with increment of salt solution.

25℃에서 2-propanol-water-binary solvent로 이루어진 4성분 액-액추출계의 상평형에 대하여 연구하였다. MIBK-butyl acetate와 ethyl acetate-toluene을 혼합용매로 사용하였으며, 수용액으로부터 2-propanol을 추출함에 있어서 혼합용매 사용의 효과를 고찰하기 위하여 각 4성분계에 대한 용해도곡선 tie-line. 분배도와 선택도를 측정하였다. 또한 실험에 의한 tie-line데이터를 UNIFAC 모델식에 의해 예측된 값들과 비교하였으며, UNIFAC 모델식이 본 실험에 설정된 4성분계에 대하여 3.16mole%의 평균 RMSD 범위내에서 tie-line의 예측이 가능함을 알 수 있었다. We studied on the phase equilibria of quatemary liquid-liquid extraction system composed 2-propanol-water-binary solvent at 25 ℃. MIBK-butyl acetate and ethyl acetate-toluene were used as binary solvents. Binodal curve, tie-line, distribution and selectivity for each quaternary system have been determined in order to investigate the effect of using binary solvent in extracting 2-propanol from aqueous solution. And these experimental tie-line data were also compared with the values predicted by UNIFAC model. It was shown that UNIFAC model is capable of predicting the tie-line in these quaternary systems within an average RMSD of 3.16 mole %.

We studied on the phase equilibria of quatemary liquid-liquid extraction system composed 2-propanol-water-binary solvent at 25℃. Ethyl acetate(EAc)-toluene was used as binary solvents. Binodal curve, tie-line, distribution and selectivity for quatemary system have been determined in order to investigate the effect of using binary solvent in extracting 2-propanol from aqueous solotion. And this experimental tie-line data was also compared with the values predicted by UNIFAC model. It was shown that UNIFAC model is capable of predicting the tie-line in this quaternary system within an average RMSD of 1.93 mol%.

From experimental data of tie line, the parameter estimated using NRTL and the caculated values fo tie line were predicted. The effect of KF salt on liquid-liquid equilibria was also studied.
