합성한 카르복시화 아미드류 3종, 술폰화 또는 황산화 이미다졸린류 3종 그리고 술폰화 아미드류 3종 등 총 9종의 양쪽성 계면활성제에 대하여 15∼45℃의 온도 범위에서 임계미셀농도(cmc)를 결정하였다. 미셀 형성에 있어 자유 에너지 변화는 엔탈피 및 엔트로피의 변화로 전환될 수 있다. 즉 미셀화에 따른 표준자유에너지 변화 ΔG˚m는 열역학적으로 취급해서 cmc로 부터 산출하고 ΔG˚m를 ΔH˚m과 ΔS˚m으로 분리할 수 있다. 그리고 이들의 결과들은 이미 알려진 다른 문헌상의 값들과 비교하였다. 미셀 형성 과정은 전적으로 계면효과에 기인하는 결과를 얻었고 15∼45℃ 범위에서 온도와 관계없이 발열과정이며 ΔH˚m 값은 -1.2∼-2.3Kcal/㏖이었다. 이들 양쪽성 계면활성제의 친수성이 증가하면 계면효과는 감소한다. 15∼45℃ 범위에서 자발적으로 미셀 형성 과정이 진행되고, 엔트로피 조절 과정에 의하여 미셀 형성이 이루어지며 엔트로피는 증가한다. The critical micelle concentrations(cmc) was studied on nine kinds of amphoteric surfactants; three kinds of carboxylated amides, three kinds of sulfated or sulfonated imidazoline and three kinds of sulfonated amides at 15 to 45℃ range. The change of free energy about micelle formation can be converted into the change of enthalpy and entropy. The standard free energy change ΔG˚m of micellization was estimated from the cmc, by treating the formation of micelles as thermodynamics; the determination of the variation of cmc the enables ΔG˚m to be split into the correspondingΔH˚m and ΔS˚m. These results were examined by making a comparison between this results and the previously known values. The process of micelle formation obtained the result that perfactly was attributed to interface effect and the exothermic reaction which ΔH˚m values were -1.2∼-2.3Kcal/㏖ was not related with temperature at 15 to 45℃ range. The interface effect was decresed with the hydrophilic increase of the amphoteric surfatants. The process of micelle formation was proceeded spontaneously at 15 to 45℃ range and entrophy increased with consisting of micelle formation to control entrophy process.

Imidazoline compounds have been developed in many industrial fields(eg. cosmetic, etc.). These materials can be used in almost all pH ranges and recently its use is successively increased because of nonirritative property. Since the concern of safety has enlarged at industrial application, naturaly the use of amphoteric surfactants with new special properties has more. We report general properties of chemical structures of imidazoline surfactants effect.

The syntheses of urocanic acid esters was optimized, starting from p-toluenesulfonic acid salt of this acid and long chain fatty alcohols in the organic solvent and extracting water from it by means of azeotropic Compound. The salts of these urocanic acid esters showed amphoteric properties, but their micellization enhances their rate of hydrolysis leading to the free amine. Nevertheless the long chain gives to the esters themselves an amphoteric character allowing their solubilization in micellar media and in microemulsions the result, yield could enhanced.

1-(2-hydroxyethyl)-2-undecyl-2-imidazoline로부터 유도된 9종의 양쪽성 계면활성제에 대한 표면장력과 등전점을 일정농도의 수용액에서 비교 검토하였고, 표면장력법에 의하여 cmc를 추정하였다. 카르복시화 아미드류의 표면장력은 4.0×10^(-4)∼1.0×10^(-3)㏖/ℓ 농도범위에서 26∼40dyne/㎝, 술폰화 또는 황산화 이미다졸린류는 1.5×10^(-3)∼2.5×10^(-3)㏖/ℓ 농도범위에서 30∼35dyne/㎝, 술폰화 아미드류는 5.8×10^(-4)∼8.0×10^(-4)㏖/ℓ 농도범위에서 25∼33dyne/㎝이었다. 또한 등전점의 pH 범위는 카르복시화 아미드류는 pH 7.2∼7.9, 술폰화 또는 황산화 이미다졸린류와 술폰화 아미드류는 pH 4.5∼5.5이었다. Nine kinds of amphoteric surfactants were derived from 1-(2-hydroxyethyl)-2-undecyl-2-imidazoline. Their surface activities including surface tension and isoelectric points were measured in aqueous solution and critical micelle concentration(cmc) was also evaluated by the measurement of surface tension. From the measurement of surface tension, carboxylated amides revealed to be 26∼40dyne/㎝ at 4.0×10^(-4)∼1.0×10^(-3)㏖/ℓ, sulfonated or sulfated imidazolines, 30∼35 dyne/㎝ at 1.5×10^(-3)∼2.5×10^(-3)㏖/ℓ and sulfonated amides, 25∼33 dyne/㎝ at 5.8×10^(-4)∼8.0×10^(-4)㏖/ℓ concentration range. It was found that isoelectric points of carboxylated amides were pH 7.2∼7.9 and those of sulfonated or sulfated imidazolines and sulfonated amides were pH 4.5∼5.5.

새로운 기능성을 갖는 sodium monogtycerol α-sulfonated alkanonate류에서 소수성 부분의 알킬기의 탄소수에 따른 세정력을 비교한 결과 C_(16)>C_(18)>C_(14)>C_(12)의 순으로 나타났고, 이들 중 세정력이 가장 우수한 sodium monoglycerol α-sulfonated hexadecanonate는 무공해 세정제로서 기대성이 있는바 현재 공업적으로 대량 사용하고 있는 sodium α-sulfonated alkanoic acid methyl ester와 sodium alkyl benzene sulfonate를 상대 비교한 결과, 보다 우수한 세정력을 나타내며 공업적 응용성에 기대성이 크다. The detergencies of these new functional anionic surfactants, sodium monoglycerol α-sulfonated alkanoates, were investigated and compared with those of two commercial surfactants, that is, sodium α-sulfonated alkanoic acid methyl ester and sodium alkyl benzene sulfonate. According to the variation of the hydrophobic alkyl chain length, the order of detergency was shown to be C_(16)>C_(18)>C_(14)>C_(12). From the comparision experiment for the detergency and the various fundamental properties of two other surfactants, it was found that sodium monoglycerol α-sulfonated hexadecanonate has the most outstanding characteristics of detergency. Possibly this result shows light on its industrial application as a nonpolluting detergent.

Ground Calcium Carbonate, among paper coating pigments, will influence less dispersant demand, less binder demand, increase coating solids from 58% to 70%, which means high speed coating, less shrinkage during drying, less energy consumption, more uniform coverage of fibers. The quality point of view of Ground Calcium Carbonate, brightness particle size, Particle size distribution, harness, impurities content are important. More important factors of Ground Calcium Carbonate which influence the paper coating process are dispersion mechanisms and their effects. The study was made to investigate the effect of Ground Calcium Carbonate dispersion by sodium salt of polyacrylate dispersant composition and dispersion condition. Basic tests such as physical, optical and chemical were perfumed, and dispersion effects were investigated by different conditions. The results showed that the type of dispersant affected the dispersion effects, and the Ground Calcium Carbonate has critical dispersant demand.

Water pollution, which is caused by surfactants, is increased by insolubility and excessive uses of detergents. The detergency properties of nine kinds of amphoteric surfactants derived from imidazoline were investigated and compared with sodium jauryl suifats(SLS) of petrochemical surfactant by using detergent formulations. Several physico-chemical properties were measured to investigate the effective factors on detergency. From the comparision of these compounds with SLs, it was found that 1-(2-hydroxyethyl)-1-(3-sulfonatedpropyl)-2-undecyl-2-imidazolinum [Ⅳ] has the most outstanding characteristics of detergency as a nonpolluting detergent. Detergency process of surfactants were discussed in relation to physico-chemical treatments. Performance improvement on detergency is made work of adhesion to soil as small as possible. Therefore these results show that contamination is easily removed and industrial applications may be respected.
