        Nostromo is more than just a historical and political novel, dealing with each individual's closely knitted fate with that of the social system and state, comprising the more philosophical dimension by its significant metaphysical investigation of the inevitable human condition, struggling between the conflicting forces of law and violence, order and anarchy, liberty and dictatorship, material interest and noble ideal. The federalist Ribiera government collapses by the Monteros' nationalist coup d'etat, and the province of Sulaco succeeds in seceding, proclaiming itself the $quot;Occidental Republic$quot; owing to the economic power of the silver mine. The materialistic richness represented by silver ironically gives rise to the revolution, the sterilization of the Goulds' marriage life, Nostromo's vanity of honor and Decoud's cynical nihilistic engagement and suicide. Conrad's self-projection into the figures of the novel is very distinct. His respect for the values of tradition, discipline, courage and personal honor is well represented by Nostromo, the Italian supervisor of the workers. Martin Decoud, a French intellectual dilettante, disillusioned and visionary, shows the author's stressful sentiment of scepticism and historical consciousness of the imperialist cruel tactics of betrayal and exploitation. While Charles Gould, the English entrepreneur, possessed by materialistic development, reminds us of Conrad himself at one time in his economic stalemate, Doctor Monigham, crippled bodily and mentally by the former dictator's atrocious persecution, is another portrait of the self-derisive, prophetic vision of the author himself. The dramatic development of the plot is focused on the final reconciliation of the two rivals, Nostromo and Monigham, as a sign of gratitude and love for Mrs. Gould. Conrad suggests the possibility of overcoming the catastrophe and cheating a new value through Mrs. Gould's recognition about the world's depending on the poor people and her perception of the inevitable interrelatedness of history. The strategy of this novel is in awakening the reader's imagination about human integrity and in achieving the various effects of echo by projecting the author's views of life and artistic values into the several international protagonists in the political, geographical, economical and cultural background of revolution and anti-revolution of the state of Costaguana.

        성취목표지향성과 수행피드백 제공방식이 대학생의 수업참여에 미치는 효과

        본 연구는 수업효과 제고를 위해 학습자의 성취목표지향성과 수행에 대한 피드백 제공방식이 대학생의 수업참여에 미치는 영향을 탐색하였다. 이를 위해 서울시내에 위치한 S대학교의 1~4학 년 학생 116명을 대상으로 수행에 대한 피드백 제공방식을 실험조건(결과 피드백, 정보 피드백) 과 통제조건(피드백 제공 안함)으로 조작하여 제공하였다. 결과 피드백은 시험점수 결과만을 제 공하는 방식이고, 정보 피드백은 시험점수 결과, 학생의 학습과정에 대한 반성 및 성찰과 함께 성공적인 학업수행을 위한 교수자의 피드백을 함께 제공하는 방식이다. 분석결과 첫째, 수업활동에 있어서는 학습자의 성취목표지향성 유형에 따라 통계적으로 유의 한 차이가 나타났는데, 숙달목표지향적인 학생들은 수행-회피지향적인 학생들보다 수업활동에 보 다 적극적으로 참여하는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 교수학습과정에서 교수자-학습자 의사소통에 대 한 성취목표지향성과 수행피드백 제공방식 간의 상호작용 효과는 통계적으로 유의한 것으로 나 타났다. 정보 피드백을 제공하였을 때 숙달목표지향성과 수행-접근목표지향성의 학생들은 교수- 학습자간 의사소통이 높았으나 수행-회피지향성의 학생들은 의사소통이 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 성취목표지향성과 수행피드백 제공방식이 학생들의 수업열정에 미치는 영향력을 확인한 결과는 통계적으로 유의하지 않았다. 이러한 결과에 근거하여 실제 대학수업에서 학습자의 성취목표지향성을 고려하여 수업참여를 향상시킬 수 있는 피드백 제공방식을 탐색하고자 하였다. This study explored the effects of goal orientation and types of performance feedback on collegian's classroom engagement. For this study, 166 students were taken from Seoul located university from freshmen to seniors and offered the types of performance feedback with experimental condition(result feedback and information feedback) and controlling condition(without feedback). The result feedback was a way that offers only the scores of the tests, and the information feedback was a way that gives students’ test scores, self-reflection and introspection with teacher’s feedback for successful academic accomplishment. As a result, in classroom engagement, there was a statistical significant difference depending on the learner's goal orientation. That is, the goal oriented students participated more actively than the performance-avoidance oriented students. Second, as giving the information feedback in teaching learning process, mastery goal oriented students and performance-approach goal oriented students showed more communicate and interact with teacher than the performance-avoidance oriented students. Third, it was shown that student's passion for interaction between goal orientation and types of performance feedback was not statistically significant. Based on these results, considering the goal orientation of the college students, we came up with a conclusion inquiring into feedback offering method that could enhance classroom engagement.

        간호대학생의 간호전문직관과 감성지능이 임상수행능력에 미치는 영향

        Objectives: The purpose of this study was to identify the influences of nursing professionalism and emotional intelligence on the clinical performance ability of nursing students. Methods: The subjects of this study included 234 nursing students from three universities located in two regions of South Korea. Data were collected from June 15 to 30, 2018 by using self-reported questionnaires. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, independent t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson’s correlation coefficients, and stepwise multiple regression analysis using the IBM SPSS 21.0 program. Results: The factors which influenced the clinical performance ability in nursing students were self-concept of the profession(β=.28, p<.001), roles of nursing service (β=.22, p<.001), use of emotion (β=.22, p<.001), self-emotional appraisal (β=.18, p=.002), regulation of emotion (β=.16, p=.004), and grade (β=.16, p=.002) which explained 51.7% of the variance. Conclusions: These results suggest that to improve clinical performance ability in nursing students, an intervention that enhances their nursing professionalism and emotional intelligence should be considered.

        플라즈마 아크 오비탈 용접의 경사상진자세에서 이면비드 형성에 관한 연구

        In the circumferential welding of pipe, welding phenomenon changes with the position of pipe. Especially in the overhead position, back bead of vertical-up position would be sunk. To investigate the size of back bead and keyhole with the change of the flow rate of pilot and shield gas at each position, bead-on plate welds were conducted on 6mm thickness SS400 with inclined-up position. When the rest of welding conditions remained constant, the width of back bead was increased as the flow rate of pilot gas was increased. And back bead tended to convex as the flow rate of shield gas was increased.

        잠재성장모형을 활용한 대학생 역량의 변화궤적과 예측변인 탐색: S대학 사례를 중심으로

        The purpose of this study was to investigate trajectories of University students' competencies and to analyze the causal effects of their predictors(teaching-learning process variables such as learning skill, learning activity, teacher-student interaction). The participants of this study were 277 students from 1th to 3th grade who entered in 2016 year at S University in Gwangju. The data was analyzed by latent growth modeling. The findings of this study are as follows. First, there was a liner increase in students' competencies over the course of 3 years except challenge attitude and significant individual difference in the trajectories (intercept and slope) were found. Second, the predictors had significant casual effects on the trajectories of students' competencies. The trajectories of students' competencies with higher learning skill and learning activity, higher teacher-student interaction showed bigger degree of intercept and increase fast. Finally, the implications of findings were discussed. 이 연구는 대학교육의 성과를 학생 수준의 종단자료를 통해 실증적으로 검증하고 이에 영향을 미치는 변인을 탐색하는데 목적이 있다. 대학생 역량으로 문제해결, 정보처리, 자기주도학습, 창의성, 전공전문성, 도전의식, 효, 공감 능력의 8개 하위능력을 선정하였으며 잠재성장모형을 활용하여 종단분석을 실시하였다. 이를 위해 광주광역시 소재 S대학에 2016학년도에 입학한 1학년 학생 227명을 대상으로 연속적으로 3년간 자료를 수집하여 그 변화 궤적을 살펴보았으며, 예측변인(교수학습과정 변인)이 역량의 변화궤적에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지를 분석하였다. 연구결과는 첫째, 대학생 역량의 변화궤적은 도전의식을 제외하고 시간의 경과에 따라 선형적으로 증가하였고, 변화궤적에서 개인차가 나타났다. 둘째, 교수학습과정 변인(학습기술, 학습활동, 교수만족도, 교수와의 상호작용)이 대학생 역량의 변화궤적의 개인차를 유의하게 예측하는 것으로 나타났다. 연구결과를 토대로 대학생 역량 신장을 위한 교육적 시사점을 제안하였다.
