In this study, hydraulic characteristics of horizontal ocean circulation block was examined through hydraulic experiments. Hydraulic experiments including 12 wave cases, 5 current cases and 60 wave-current cases were carried out to propose useful empirical formula. Outgoing current speed is increased as the wave height higher rather than wave period under the wave only condition. The water level at the front of the water circulation block is going up and going down at the rear side under the current only condition.

The design wave and deck clearance of an offshore structure are very important factors to secure the stability of the structure after construction. In case that the structure is installed on a deep flat bottom, the deck clearance may be determined from the maximal wave crest height which can be sought by directly applying a nonlinear wave theory (Cnoidal or Stream function theory) to the design wave condition. But it is often the case that the structure is placed on a shallow underwater shoal having a steep slope due to construction expense and convenience. In this case, the wave height and depth conditions at the structural position may easily exceed the wave breaking condition beyond which the nonlinear wave theory cannot be applied. In the present study, a numerical method using a shallow water wave propagation model based on Boussinesq equation is demonstrated to reproduce the nonlinear wave deformation along up the shallow underwater shoal and the maximal wave crest height at the structural position. The method is applied to check the validity of the existing deck height of Gageocho Ocean Research Station installed on an underwater shoal in Korea. The station was damaged by typhoon Muifa in 2011 with the cellar deck and its appurtenance seriously deformed or destroyed.

충격쇄파압은 권파성 파랑이 구조물 전면에 갑자기 충돌할 때 발생하며 접촉면에서 공기포켓의 생성여부에 따라 충격쇄파압의 작용특성이 달라진다. 수괴의 직접적인 충돌에 따른 Wagner형은 접촉면에서 단일 압력 첨두치를 보이는 반면, Bagnold형은 공기포켓의 진동에 의하여 비접촉면에서도 압력의 첨두치를 보이는 특성이 있다. 본 연구에서는 시공 중의 수중터널 벌크헤드의 배면(육측면)에 발생하는 충격쇄파압을 고찰하였다. Navier-Stokes 방정식을 직접 푸는 수치해석을 적용하여 벌크헤드 인근에 발생하는 쇄파를 모의한 결과, 벌크헤드의 배면에서 강한 Bagnold형 충격쇄파압이 발생함을 확인하였다. 본 충격쇄파압의 존재는 동일 조건에 대하여 수행한 수리모형실험에 의해서도 확인되었으며, 실험결과와 수치해석결과가 대체적으로 유사한 성향을 보임을 확인하였다. The breaking wave pressure occurs when a plunging breaker instantaneously impinges on structural surface, and appears differently depending on whether or not to form air pockets at the instant of contact. The Wagner type normally forms a single pressure peak at the contact spot due to the direct collision of water volume to the structure whereas in the Bagnold type the time lagged oscillation of the air pocket causes pressure peaks even at areas away from the spot. In the present study, the Bagnold's impact pressure is numerically and experimentally investigated for the bulkhead of an underwater tunnel under construction which is subjected to nearby breaking waves. A numerical solver of Navier-Stokes equations was applied to reproduce the breaking waves near a bulkhead, and the results showed the Bagnold's impact pressure occurring on the back (land side) face of the bulkhead. The existence of the impact pressure was also verified by a hydraulic model testing, and it was found that the experimental results well conformed to their numerical counterparts.
장기해수면 상승 및 이상파랑에 대비한 동적 가변형 고무막체 파라펫 개발

지구온난화로 인한 태풍 강도 증가와 장기해수면 상승에 대처하기 위하여 호안 및 방파제의 마루높이를 고정식으로 증가시키는 것이 일반적이다. 그러나 이와 같은 대처방식은 월파저지에는 효과적이나 수변공간의 바다 조망권을 저하시키는 단점을 가지고 있다. 본 연구에서는 황천 시에 전개시키고 평상 시 격납하여 월파저지와 조망권 확보 기능을 동시에 달성할 수 있는 일종의 동적 가변형 구조물인 고무막체 파라펫의 개발을 시도하였다. 본 구조물은 순전히 공기의 주입 및 배출에 의하여 제어되는 무인 작동 구조물로서 해황에 따라 원격제어가 가능하다. 고무막체 파라펫의 여러 최적형상이 도출되었으며 비선형 유한요소 프로그램을 사용한 수치해석 및 수리모형실험을 통하여 이들 파라펫들의 전개 및 격납 과정, 그리고 월파발생시의 거동 및 구조적 안정성을 검토하였다. It's been reported that the global warming effect has invoked the ever increasing typhoon intensity and long-term sea level rise which jointly cause severe wave overtopping over breakwaters or shore dykes. A simple measure to cope with this undesirable change may be just to increase the crest height of the dykes and breakwaters. This is surely effective to prevent wave overtopping, but it also decreases the seaward visibility of coastal waterfront. In this paper, a dynamic deformable rubber membrane parapet which not only reduces wave overtopping in storm period but also secures seascapes in normal days is presented. Several optimal configurations of the parapet are proposed. Through numerical analyses using a nonlinear finite element model and hydraulic experiments, the air controlled expansion and contraction of the parapets, their behavior against wave overtopping and structural stability are investigated.

백파는 해양과 대기의 기체 및 에너지 교환의 중요한 변수로써 해양의 중요한 관측 항목 중 하나이다. 이어도 종합해양과학 기지에서 해상 상태를 관찰하기 위하여 4대의 CCTV를 이용한 비디오 모니터링 시스템을 구축하여 2014년 11월부터 운영 중에 있다. 본 연구에서는 비디오 이미지를 이용한 백파 관측을 시도하였으며 세부적으로 백파 발생 시 pixel 강도의 특성을 파악하고 이를 기반으로 백파 관측기법을 수립하여 이어도 해역에 적용하였다.

하천이나 해안으로 유입된 부유사는 수질 및 생태학적으로 많은 문제를 발생시키고 있어 지속적인 모니터링을 수행하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 OBS를 수면에 설치하여 관측하는 방법과 무인항공로 취득한 이미지를 분석하여 점 관측자료를 2D 관측자료로 확장하는 방법을 제시하고 적용성을 확인하였다.

Result from the global environmental changes represented by global warming, environmental variables including the sea temperature and sea surface height rise, ocean acidification, etc are reported to being in progress rapidly. Many studies have been carried out to understand the cause of the environmental changes and to deal with the impact. The environmental changes are closely related to the interaction between the ocean and atmosphere, especially in the boundary layer between them. So many studies on the energy and material, such as carbon dioxides, exchanges between the ocean and atmosphere are under going. In recent years, whitecap is recognized as the important parameters for the interaction between the ocean and atmosphere. There have been many efforts to observe and qualifying variables related to whitecap. Whitecap is the direct result from the wave breaking which have large temporal and spatial variability, and it is very hard to do quantitative observation. Previous studies have suggested the analytical solution, which defined the whitecap coverage, calculated from the wind, as a primary variable. Recently, owing to development in the image processing technologies, videos and still images are being used to observe whitecap coverage. But it has been very hard to obtain the continuous, precise wave images in the ocean. In this study, wave image obtained in the Ieodo Ocean Research Station were used to reduce the error of the conversion from image to whitecap coverage, and the formula which suggested by Sugihara et al. (2007). Specifically, it presented Pixel intensity threshold determination method and criteria image sampling frequency of Whitecap.

스테레오 이미지를 이용한 파랑 관측기법은 WASS(Wave Acquisition Stereo System)라는 이름으로 이탈리아 ISMAR-CNR팀과 국제 공동연구로 수행하고 있으며 현재 신안 가거초 종합해양과학기지에 WASS를 구축하고 연구를 수행하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 WASS 소개와 파랑관측 결과를 제시하였다.

Background: Adverse reactions to radio-contrast media (CM) represent a serious problem. There have been few reports about incidence of adverse reactions to CM in general population. Objective: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the incidence and clinical features of adverse reactions to low osmolar, nonionic contrast media in the general population. Method: A total of 12,177 examinee underwent contrast-enhanced CT using low osmolar, nonionic CM. Immediate adverse reaction is defined as symptoms occur within 1 hour after contrast administration and late adverse reaction is defined as symptoms occur more than 1 hour but less than 7 days following contrast administration. A questionnaire was used to collect general and medical information. Result: Adverse events were noted in 306 cases of total 13,552 cases. The incidence of adverse reactions was 2.3% and severe reactions was 0.04%. The incidence of immediate reaction was 2.0% and late reactions was 0.3%. Symptoms of immediate and late reactions were nausea/vomiting (22.2%), erythema/pruritus/urticaria (74.2%), angioedema (2.0%) and hypotension (1.6%). Conclusion: The incidence of adverse reaction to low osmolar, nonionic CM was 2.3% in the general population. The skin was the most commonly affected site of adverse reactions.
