Building energy simulations which are mainly used in Korea have evaluated the building energy performance with the different thermal conductivity of construction materials. In order to evaluate the energy consumption accurately, the difference in thermal conductivity of the wood used in stud for wooden structure was confirmed from the each simulation. In addition, the thermal transmission of building members and the thermal bridge at the conjunction of building members according to thermal conductivity from each simulation programs were researched. The thermal conductivity of pine that has the largest variation among the energy simulations was applied to the thermal properties of studs in wooden structure. The maximum error between the maximum and minimum thermal transmission of roof, wall, and floor slab was 0.023 W/m²·K. Plus, that thermal bridge at Rafter junction on the roof, roof-wall joint, and floor slab-wall joint was 0.025 W/m·K.

Recently, people are paying attention to new forms of construction. For example, deviated from an enclosed type space, people have been interested in an atrium type and an arcade type spaces. In this study, we had hypothesis ‘Indoor thermal environment will be influenced by the inflow rate of natural lights with temperature and humidity.’ We selected a multi-complex cultural space and conducted this study. This place is consisted of atrium, arcade, and enclosed types. The three spaces were classified according to the type of spaces that have own features along with their forms. The atrium type space has ceiling and the side windows, and the arcade type space has ceiling windows. On the other hand, there are no windows or open parts in the enclosed type space. Three measurement points at each space were selected because of their huge space. Intensity of illumination, temperature and humidity were confirmed by the average value of three measurement points. In addition, surveys were conducted regarding indoor comfort elements in each space.
건축물 축열성능 향상을 위한 Octadecane/xGnP SSPCM 제조 및 열적성능 분석

In this study, a shape-stabilized phase change material (SSPCM) was prepared by octadecane and exfoliated graphite nanoplate (xGnP) in a vacuum, to improve thermal storage performance. The octadecane as an organic phase change material (PCM) is very stable against phase separation of PCM, and has the proper temperature range for thermal comfort in the building; and the xGnP is a porous carbon nano-material. Scanning electron microscope (SEM) and Fourier transformation infrared spectrophotometer (FT-IR) were used to confirm the chemical and physical stability of the Ocatadecane/xGnP SSPCM. In addition, thermal properties were determined by Deferential scanning calorimeter (DSC), and Thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). The specific heat of Octadecane/xGnP SSPCM was 14.1 J/g·K at 31.3℃. The melting temperature ranges of melting and freezing were found to be 26~35℃ and 26~19℃, respectively. At this time, the latent heats of melting and freezing were 110.9 J/g and 104.5 J/g, respectively. The Octadecane was impregnated into xGnP by as much as about 56.0% of the Octadecane/xGnP SSPCM’s mass fraction.

This paper deals with the thermal performances of Shape-Stabilized Phase Change Materials (SSPCM) for energy saving in various fields. This study enhanced thermal properties of SSPCM by using exfoliated graphite nanoplatelets (xGnP). SSPCM, which contains the xGnP, was prepared by mixing and melting techniques for high dispersibility, thermal conductivity and latent heat storage. In the experiment, we used hexadecane, octadecane and paraffin as Phase Change Materials (PCMs), and they have 254.7J/g, 247.6J/g and 144.6J/g of latent heat capacity, and melting points of 20.84?C, 30.4?C and 57.09?C, respectively. The characteristics of SSPCMs were determined by using SEM, DSC, FTIR,and TGA.

Importance of energy consumptions has being emphasized because of problems of the energy and environment. So, recently, green wall systems have been installed to reduce building energy consumptions. The green wall systems provide several benefits; they make it possible to maintain moderate thermal comforts by greenery. Greening such a surface wall in the building by plants, the temperature of the wall can be properly controlled that purifies the air and improves the view spanning over the space. This study evaluated the effects of green wall systems on reducing room temperature quantitatively, changing of humidity, decreasing of CO₂. Test results were confirmed; first, the space installed by green walls showed that temperature and CO₂ decreased and humidity was increased. Second, two structures were compared with the solar radiation, and green wall systems controlled the temperature and humidity stably near the wall regardless of the amount solar radiation. In conclusion, the green wall systems can contribute to thermal comforts and indoor air quality in the buildings.
대형 서점 내 서적 종류 및 가구배치에 따른 포름알데히드 발생 특성

Utilization of underground floor is becoming the main issue of our society to maximize and diversify the potential of recent urban space. It has brought about the changes of underground floor. Recently there are lots of huge bookstores in these underground floor. Bleach, adhesive and ink used for manufacturing books pollute indoor air in bookstore. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to analyze indoor air quality in these large bookstores. Concentrations of carbon dioxide and formaldehyde in three large bookstores in Seoul were measured by presence and type of books and distance of main entrance which is well-ventilated. According to the data, space that places lots of volumes measured higher concentration of formaldehyde than that of non-existence books. Children’s book section was measured more concentration of formaldehyde than other book section. Closer main entrance near outside, lower concentration of formaldehyde was measured. Concentration of carbon dioxide was affected by the number of people in bookstore.

Recently, many studies have conducted to satisfy a physical need of human between environment of light on space, so an atrium structure has been applied to cultural complex. However, this structure brings about many problems such as overheating in summer, excessive vertical temperature differences, condensation, diffusion of noise, effect of echo, and withering landscapes. Especially, in this research, thermal comfort by difference of vertical temperature in the space of atrium and the optical characteristics of glass skins of the atrium could be remarkably effected by solar flux entering indoors.

As professional postnatal care systems have been rapidly supplied, there is sharp increase of postnatal care centers without legal regulations for a mother and a infant. For the quick recovery of mothers, newborn infants that have weaker immune systems are being managed in group in the postnatal care centers. Recently, the attention of the postnatal care centers has been growing because the problem of pneumonia which led to result in a casuality in a infant unit was happen. So, this research analyzed the indoor environment of infant unit through measuring formaldehyde, carbon dioxide, intensity of illumination. As a result of the data, infant units showed higher concentration of formaldehyde and carbon dioxide than Indoor Air Quality Control Law. Moreover, infant units was measured higher intensity of illumination than the range of optimum illumination for infants.
