This study introduced two control systems that were a storm sewage overflow chamber control system and a stormwater and combined sewer storage tank control system. The former system controlled to collect less or to block off a discharge of storm sewage of low-concentration after collecting a discharge of storm sewage of high-concentration first. The latter system controlled the storage tank to store combined sewer overflows and first flush of separated storm sewage sewer by dividing high and low concentrations. The applications of these systems to an actual field have the advantages of the efficient utilization of interceptor pipe by maximizing a pollution loading amount of the inflow and the improvement of water quality and the surrounding environment by minimizing a pollution loading amount of the outflow. During the rainfall, these systems are able to improve the treatment efficiency of sewage treatment plants by flowing a discharge of storm sewage of high concentration selectively. Furthermore, these systems can guarantee water resources and prevent a contamination of our water supply with the improvement of water quality due to collecting and treating first flush of separated storm sewage sewer according to each concentration level.

This study deals with a hydraulic characteristics in the mobile circular Venturi flume that is the discharge measured structure. Especially, this study mainly focuses on the submergence effect due to tailwater depth by using a three-dimensional numerical model, FLOW-3D. The simulation results for the model verification are in good accordance with the existing experimental results. The tailwater depth does not affect the discharge by the time when 0.7 and the tailwater depth begins to influence the discharge, that is, is about 0.95 in the case of 0.8. And the influence is more and more on the increase when 0.8. Furthermore, the influence is more severe as the upstream boundary stage, , is high.

In order to modify incorrect flow data in the sewage system, the method using the stagedischarge rela tion and hydraulic characteristic curve of sewer pipe are applied. The modified data were verified with field measured data and the infiltration analysis using the modified data was carried out. When flowrate were measured using the flow-meter in fair weather, the stage data were comparatively consistent but velocity data were very poor for the most part. Therefore, it was recommended that sewage flowrate variation characteristic curve and infiltration were computed using the modified data on the basis of stage data. Especially, in the case of using the hydraulic characteristic curve, extrapolation results of the rainy season flowrate using regression curve on the basis of the data in fair weather were also reasonable.

The flow of domestic wastewater (not including the groundwater infiltration or unavoidable surface water contribution) will vary continuously throughout any one day, with extreme low flows usually occurring during the break of the day and peak Rows occurring during the daylight hours. This study deals with the characteristics of domestic wastewater flow in the small residential area. Especially, this study is mainly focused on the estimate of the ratio of the peak/minimum flow of the domestic component to the average for the day in the small residential area which is useful information for the sewer design and maintenance. In this study, the ratio of the peak flow to the average for the day range about from 1.4 to 2.9 and the ratio of the minimum flow to the average range about from 0.1 to 0.5.
