      • 얇은배 선형이론에 의한 진폭영수 조피저항 선측파고, 침하와 Trim의 계산

        From first-order thin-ship theory, we can obtain the" wave resistance, wave amplitude functions, wave elevation along the hull, sinkage and trim of a ship moving with constant speed into calm water. Generally, these calculations of ship is called with Michell’s Theory, and there is all the difference between calculated wave resistance and residual resistance from conventional wave resis¬tance test. But, these calculated results are important reference materials for initial hull form design procedure. Various calculated results for Shearer’ s Model, Wigley’s Model and Series 60 4210W Model have been calculated using this theory. The results are compared with the corresponding experimental values, and the agreement between theoretical and experimental values is considered satisfactory.

        유선곡률법에 의한 원심압축기 회전차 내부유동의 수치해석

        Flows through impellers of centrifugal compressors are calculated by a streamline curvature method. A method for the exit boundary condition is suggested in the present paper. Flow angles are assumed to be deviated from the blade angle parabolically. The maximum deviation is adjusted for the whole angular momentum to balance with the empirically estimated value by using Stanitz' slip-factor. The present method is verified to reasonably simulate flows through the impeller, when the 3-dimensionality of the flow is not strong. It is also shown that the method can be applied for the design of the splitter in the impeller.

      • 축대칭 왕복 엔진의 흡입 및 압축과정에서 유동 및 열전달의 수치해석

        본 연구에서는 이러한 예측능력 향상에 중점을 두어 2차원 축대칭 모델엔진 실린더내의 유동장 및 열전달특성을 예측할 수 있는 새로운 코오드를 개발하여 실험자 료와의 비교를 통해 프로그램을 검증하고 흡입 및 압축과정을 수치시뮬레이션한 결과 를 보고하고자 한다. 아울러 선회속도의 영향도 고찰하였다. 난류모델은 K-.epsilon.난류 모델을 압축성 효과가 고려되도록 수정된 모델을 사용하였으며 TEACH코오드를 기본으 로 하여 비정상 압축성 유동을 풀 수 있는 새로운 알고리즘을 개발하여 수정하였다. Turbulent flows in an axisymmetric reciprocating engine are numerically simulated at it"s suction and compression stage. Amounts of heat transfer through the wall of the cylinder are also estimated. k-.epsilon. turbulence model is adopted and the law of the wall is applied at grid-points near the wall. More than 40 * 40 grids are reguried to reasonably predict flows and the 3-level finite difference scheme for the time derivative term appears to be effective rather than the 2-level scheme. Calculated mean velocity distributions shows good agreements with an available experimental data. The program reasonably simulates flow patterns and pressures throughout the suction and the compression stages of the reciprocating engine. Predicted intensities of turbulence are still deviated from measured data. Further researches for turbulence modeling are expected.

        공기조화, 냉동 분야의 최근 연구 동향 -2000년 및 2001년 학회지 논문에 대한 종합적 고찰 -

        A review on the papers published in the Korean Journal of Air-Conditioning and Refrigerating Engineering in 2000 and 2001 has been done. Focus has been put on current status of research in the aspect of heating, cooling, ventilation, sanitation and building environment. The conclusions are as follows. (1) Most of fundamental studies on fluid flow were related with heat transportation of facilities. Drop formation and rivulet flow on solid surfaces were interesting topics related with condensation augmentation. Research on micro environment considering flow, heat, humidity was also interesting for comfortable living environment. It can be extended considering biological aspects. Development of fans and blowers of high performance and low noise were continuing topics. Well developed CFD technologies were widely applied for developing facilities and their systems. (2) Most of papers related with heat transfer analysis and heat exchanger shows dealt with convection, evaporation, and channel flow for the design application of heat exchanger. The numerical heat transfer simulation studies have been peformed and reported to show heat transfer characteristics. Experimental as well as numerical studies on heat exchanger were reported, while not many papers are available for the system analysis including heat exchanger. (3) A review of the recent studies on heat pump system shows that performance analysis and control of heat pump have been peformed by various simulations and experiments. The research papers on multi-type heat pump system increased significantly. The studies on heat pipe have been examined experimently for change of working characteristics and strut lure. Research on the phase change has been carried out steadily and operation strategies of encapsulated ice storage tank are reported experimentally in several papers. (4) A review of recent studies on refrigeration/air conditioning system have focused on the system performance and efficiency for new alternative refrigerants. Evaporation and condensation heat transfer characteristics are investigated for tube shapes and new alternative refrigerants. Studies on components of refrigeration/air conditioning system are carried to examine efficiency for various compressors and performance of new expansion devices. In addition to thermophysical properties of refrigerant mixtures, studies on new refrigerants are also carried out, however research works on two-phase flow seemed to be insufficient. (5) A review of the recent studies on absorption cooling system indicates that heat and mass transfer phenomena have been investigated to improve absorber performance. Various experimental data have been presented and several simulation models have been proposed. A review of the recent studies on duct and ventilation shows that ventilation indices have been proposed to quantify the ventilation performance in buildings and tunnels. Main efforts have been focused on the applications of ventilation effectiveness in practice, either numerically using computational fluid dynamics or experimentally using tracer gas techniques. (6) Based on a review of recent studies on indoor thermal environment and building service systems, research issues have mainly focused on many innovative ideas such as underfloor air-conditioning system, personal environmental modules, radiant floor cooling and etc. Also, the new approaches for minimizing energy consumption as well as improving indoor environmental conditions through predictive control of HVAC systems, various activities of building energy management and cost-benefit analysis for economic evaluation were highlighted.

        뒷판이 있는 소형 프로펠러 팬의 성능 및 유동특성

        Unstable performance deterioration was found on the performance curve of a small propeller fan with a back plate. To investigate this phenomenon and the effects of the back-plate on the performance of the fan, performance tests and flow measurement using 3-hole pitot tube were carried out. Measurements showed that when the flow rate is small, the radial flow dominates, and when the flow rate is large, the axial flow dominates. Performance characteristic of the propeller fan changes from radial to axial type as the flow rate increases. Unstable performance changes are the result of type change of the flow through the fan.

      • 열선 유속계를 이용한 3차원 유동의 계측 방법

        본 연구에서는 X형 프로우브에 Mojolla의 방법을 적용하였으며, 경사프로우브 에는 프로우브의 경사각도와 회전각도에 따른 속도성분과 출력전압과의 관계를 유도하 여 적용하였으며, 이들 방법에 의한 3차원 유동계측의 정확성과 적용법위를 조사하였 다. A method for measuring three-dimensional turbulent flows by the hot-wire anemometer is introduced. Mojolla's method using the X-type probe is adopted and modified for the slantwire probe without the linearizer. The probe is aligned with specified angles to the given uniform flow and the shear layer to verify the measuring errors due to the three-dimensionality and the turbulence level. Errors in the measurements of mean velocities and Reynolds stresses increase with the degree of three dimensionality in the flow. The incoming flow angle of 20 degree seems to be the limit of reasonable flow measurements. But there still appear large data scatterings in Reynolds shear stresses.

      • 균일유동에 수직인 2차원 스크린 후류의 점성유동에 관한 수치적 연구

        본 연구에서는 난류유동이론을 적용하여 2차원 스크린의 후류에 관한 유동특 성을 연구하였다. 이를 위해 적합한 난류모델 및 스크린의 존재를 고려한 수치해석 방법을 연구하였다. 스크린의 저항이 커서 스크린 하류유동이 역류가 되는 경우도 포함하였다. Viscous flows through a screen normal to an uniform flow are numerically simulated. A .kappa.-.epsilon. model is adopted for evaluation of the Reynolds stresses. The existence of a screen is regarded as extra sources in the momentum equations. The amount of extra sources is related to the resistance coefficient and the refraction coefficient of the screen. Flows are numerically simulated for various resistance coefficients and heights of the screen and Reynolds numbers. The present method has been verified to reasonably simulate viscous wakes and shear layers of the screen, for which the inviscid theory is quite limitted. As the fluids approach the screen, the velocity is reduced and the pressure is raised to satisfy the Bernoulli equation. After passing the screen, the velocity shows its minimum value at the down-stream, but static pressure is slowly recovered. A detached separation-bubble from the screen appears as the resistance coefficient is increased to a certain level. Such results are qualitatively in agreement with limitted experimental data available. The turbulent kinetic energy shows its maximum value at further down stream and decrease thereafter.
