A metal–organic framework Fe3O(BPDC)3 was synthesized, and used as a productive heterogeneouscatalyst for the direct C–N coupling of azoles with ethers via oxidative C–H activation to produce azolederivatives. The MOF-based catalyst displayed higher catalytic efficiency than many homogeneouscatalysts as well as several MOFs in the transformation. The MOF-based catalyst could be reused manytimes for the synthesis of azole derivatives by the direct C–N coupling of azoles with ethers without anoteworthy deterioration in catalytic efficiency. To the best of our knowledge, this direct C–N couplingreaction was not previously performed in the presence of heterogeneous catalysts.

Nucleon-nucleus (NA) optical potentials are microscopically generated from a fully self-consistent framework of the particle-vibration coupling (PVC), in which the nucleon-nucleon (NN) effective interaction of the Skyrme type is consistently used to describe the Hartree-Fock (HF) mean-field, the small amplitude collective motions of the target, and the particle-collective states coupling. For the first time, a systematic calculation of low-energy NA elastic scattering off a series of doubly closed-shell nuclei is carried out without ad hoc adjusted parameters. Angular distributions obtained using the present optical potentials are in good agreement with the experimental data. This will be a major step forward in the applications of the Skyrme energy-density-functional theory to build up the global microscopic optical potentials, which are expected to be a powerful tool for the study of unstable (exotic) nuclei at low-incident nucleon energies.

Detailed Numerical Study of Cut-wire Pair Structures
이영백,N. T. Tung,J. W. Park,V. D. Lam,W. H. Jang 한국물리학회 2010 THE JOURNAL OF THE KOREAN PHYSICAL SOCIETY Vol.56 No.4
We systematically study the transmission properties of metallic cut-wire pair (CWP) structure, using the transfer-matrix method and the commercial code, CST Microwave Studio. The electric and the magnetic resonances of CWP structure are demonstrated by the effective medium anal-yses. The corresponding effective permittivity and permeability are calculated from the complex scattering parameters by using the standard retrieval procedure. In addition, the dependence of the transmission properties and the resonance frequencies on the periodicities and the shape of CWP are examined. Moreover, the influence of background medium and the properties of the dielectric spacer are also discussed.
Highly dispersive transparency in coupled metamaterials
Thuy, V T T,Tung, N T,Park, J W,Lam, V D,Lee, Y P,Rhee, J Y IOP Publishing 2010 Journal of optics Vol.12 No.11

We investigate the coupling between bright and quasi-dark eigenmodes in a planar metamaterial supporting highly dispersive transparency. The specific design of such a metamaterial consists of a cut wire (CW) and a single-gap split-ring resonator (SRR). Through the numerical simulation and the equivalent-circuit analysis, we demonstrate that the response of the SRR, which is weakly excited by external electric field, plays the role of a quasi-dark eigenmode in the presence of a strongly radiative CW. Furthermore, by extending and relating our study to the trapped mode resonances and the coupling between dark and bright modes, a more comprehensive perspective for the metamaterial realization of highly dispersive transmission and slow-light applications is provided.

This report investigates the effect of the dielectric layer thickness on both magnetic and electric resonances of cut-wire-pair (CWP) structures in the microwave frequency regime. It was found that the resonances are sensitive to the thickness of the dielectric layer. As the thickness increases, the bandwidth of the magnetic resonance is slightly extended to a higher frequency, while the low-frequency edge of the electric-resonance band is remarkably shifted to a lower frequency. It was also found that the dependence of the magnetic resonance frequency on the dielectric layer thickness follows the trend of the closed formula based on the cavity model for the coupled metallic elements (Cai et al 2007 Opt. Express 15 3333). In addition, we also studied the effect of the dielectric layer thickness on the left-handed behaviour of a combined structure consisting of CWP and continuous wire. The actual measurements are compared with the numerical simulation values to show a good coincidence.
