      • Pinane, Carane 및 Thujane 誘導體의 ^1H-NMR-Spectroscopy에 의한 構造分析 : The Conformations of Pinane, Carane and Thujane Derivatives

        2β-Hydroxymethyl-pinan-3-one(1),2-methylpinan-3-one(2), 2-methyl-pinan-3-one(2), 2-methyl-pinan-2β-ol(3), 3α-hydroxymethyl-caran -4-one(4), 4β-acetoxymethyl-thujan-3-one(5)와 (-)isothujone(6)의 입체구조를 400Hz, 90Hz와 60Hz ^1H-NMR-spectra를 이용해서 연구했다, 병행하여 double resonance방법을 도입해서 long range coupling 연구를 시도했다. J치에 근거를 두어 최대의 가능성을 갖는 입체구조를 유출했다· Pinane 유도체인 1, 2와 3은 semi boat형의 평평한 bicyclohexane 이었다. Carane 유도체 4는 심하게 변형된 평평한 boat form이었다. 그리고 thujane 유도체 4와 5는 평평한 오환형을 갖는 L字型의 구조였다. The conformations of 2β-hydroxymethyl-pinan-3-one(l), 2-methyl-pinall-3-one(2), 2-methyl-pinan-2β-ol(3), 3α-hydroxymethyl-caran-4-one(4), 4β-ace-toxymethyl- thujan-3-one(5) and (-)-isothujone(6) have been studied by 400 MHz and 90 MHz ^1H-NMR-spectroscopy with double resonance technique. On the basis of the spin-spin couplings derived, conformations have been deduced for these molecules with greater certaintv than has hitherto been possible. In the case of the pinane derivatives 1, 2 and 3, the bicyclohexane ring prefers a flattened semiboat conformation. The carane derivative 4 has a severe deformed boat conformation. The spectra in thujane derivatives 5 and 6 indicated a flat five membered ring and an L-shaped conformation.

        2.3-Dibromo-1.4-naphthoquinone was reacted with p-aminobenzoic acid. 2-aminopyridine, 2-amino-4-metylpyridine, m-nitroaniline, sulfathiazol, p-chloroaniline, phenetidine and 2-bromo-3-(N-aryl-amino)-1.4-naphthoquinones (1~8) 2.3-Epoxy-2.3-dihydro-1.4-naphthoquinone was also reacted with p-amonobenzoic acid, p-toluidine, p-chloroaniline, m-chloroaniline, m-nitroaniline, p-phenetidine, N, N-dimethyl-1.4-pheylenediamine as a ring opening and dehydogenation to form 2-hydroxy-3-(N-arylamino)-naphthoquinones ((~16) in good yield. These new compounds (1~16) are expected to have a biological activities such as anticoagulant and cytotoxic.

        In order to evaluate the antimicrobial effect of 2,3-substituted-1.4-naphthoquinone derivatives, we newly synthesized several 2-chloro, 2-bromo and 2-hydroxy-1, 4-naphthoquinones and subjected to antibacterial and antifungal activites, in vitro, against Escherichia coli NIHJ, Staphylococcus aureus ATCC6538p, Candida albicans 10231, Aspergillus niger 1231 and Tricophyton mentagrophytes 6085. Among these derivatives 3, 9, 18 and 23 showed the potent antibacterial activities. 18, 23 and 28 have the antifungal activities. However, these compounds have no significant hemolytic activity at concentrations higher than that required for showing the antibacterial and antifungal activities.

        Changes in certain fish behaviors are known to be very sensitive indicators of sublethal exposure to environmental contaminants. Therefore, behavioral toxicity tests, if properly designed, can be very useful to assess the influence of hazardous chemicals on fish. However, quantitative analysis of xenobiotic -mediated changes in locomotor behavior in fishes are rare, due mainly to the methodological difficulties. In general, fish movement has been known to be hypertrophic or hypotrophic according to the chemicals. As a study of fish behavioral toxicities, we quatified the swimming movement of Orydas latipes using computer-automated video tracking system. Oryzias latipes was exposed to cadmium of 128 mg/L for 1 hour in a limited aquaria, then the total swimming distance, the average swimming velocity, the histogram of turning angles, and the turning frequency were analyzed. Fish treated with cadmium showed decreased swimming activities, decreased velocity, and decreased turning frequency, which means hypotrophic activity. From these results, the computer-automated video tracking system of this study seems to be a good tool for the evaluation of the potential ecotoxicological studies.

        調和된 齒列의 黃金分割에 關한 硏究

        The purpose of this study was to investigate the fittness of Golden relation items was advocated by Ricketts whether or not it is applicable to the young adult Korean dentitions and also to evaluate the several new Golden relation items conducted by the author. The material was consisted of 81 dental casts (34 male, 47 female) with ideal occlusion, which never undergone orthodontic, prosthodontic procedures. Measurements were made on the arch dimensions using sliding caliper (Mitutoyo. Co) and data were computerized and analyzed. The findings of this study were as follows, 1. The Golden proportion advocated by Ricketts dose not seem to directly applicable to the Korean, normal dentition, however, the modification from the Ricketts’original shows the Golden proportion as follow: A first series of progressive Golden relations was found on the Golden ratio among the lower central incisors width, the inter mesionincisal width of the upper lateral incisors, and the upper first premolars width. A second series was found on the Golden ratio among the lower lateral incisors width, lower inter canine tips width and theupper first molar distal cusp tips width. A third series was found on the Golden ratio between the inter distal aspect width of e lower canine and the mesial cusp tips width of the lower second molars or inter cusp tips width of upper second premolars. 2. In addition to Ricketts’original, 4 new Golden proportions were found in young adult Korean dentition, these are as follows; The tips of lower canine width had Golden relation with the width of the upper first pre-molar buccal cusp tips or the width of the lower first molar central fossae. The distal aspect of the lower first premolars had Golden relation with the buccal surface widths of the lower or upper second molars. The width of upper lateral incisors had Golden relation with the upper second molar height. The width of the lower canine tips had Golden relation with the lower second molar height.

      • 酸촉매하의 Monoterpenone과 Formaldehyde의 反應硏究

        α 위치에 alkyl 기가 치환된 monoterpenone (thujan-3-one, pinan-3-one, p-menthan-2-one, p-menthan-3one)을 산촉매하에서 formaldehyde와 반응시켜 hydroxymethyl-monoterpenone, 4β-hydroxymethyl-thujan-3-one(Ⅰ), 2α-hydroxym-ethyl-pinan-3-one(Ⅱ), 1β-hydroxymethy1-p-menthan-2-one(Ⅲ), 1α-hydroxymethy1-menthan-2-one(Ⅳ), 4α-hydroxymethy1-p-menthan-3one(Ⅶ), 4β-hydroxymethy1-p-menthan-3-one(Ⅷ)을 합성했다. 이 반응은 Prins 반응과 유사한 alkali 촉매하의 반응과 동일함을 알았다. Hydroxymethylation이 일어나는 반응기전은 α-위치에 alkyl기가 치환된 탄소원자에서 proton이 탈리하여 먼저 enol이 regioselective 하게 형성되고, formaldehyde는 입체장해가 적은 α-alky1-substituted ketone에 우선적으로 공격함으로써 hydroxymethylation이 alkyl기가 치환된 탄소에서 regioselective 하게 일어났다. 산촉매하에서 monoterpenone과 formaldehyde의 hydroxymethylation은 bicyclic monoterpenone에서는 regio, stereoselective 하게, monocyclic monoterpenone에서는 regioselective하게 진행된다는 결론을 얻었다. The synthetic product of hydroxymethyl-monoterpenone was afforded by the acid-catalyzed reaction between α-alkyl substituted monoterpenone(thujan-3-one, pinan-3-one, p-menthan-2-one, p-menthan-3-one, etc) and formaldehyde. This reactions involve the aldol condensation analogous to the Prins reaction. The preferential position of formaldehyde is alkyl substituted α-carbon atom where these enols are regioselectively formed. The hydroxymethylation of monoterpenone was also proved to happen regioselectively in the position of α-alkyl substituted ketone, whose conformation has less steric hindrance. The hydroxymethylation with formaldehyde proceeds regio-and stereoselectively with the bicyclic monoterpenone, whereas regioselectively only with the monocyclic monoterpenone.

      • 2-[(4-Cyanophenyl)amino]-3-chloro-1,4-naphthalenedione(NQ-Y15)의 돌연변이원성

        2-[(4-Cyanophenyl)amino]-3-chloro-1, 4-naphthalenedione (NQ-Y15) was asssayed for its genotoxic potential by using Salmonella typhimurium reversion assay and in vitro chromosome aberration test on Chinese hamster lung cells. In the Ames test, NQ-Y 15 induced his+ revertants of Salmonella typhimurium TA 98 and TA1537, reaching levels twice the negative control values. But, NQ-Y15 induced only his^(+) revertants of Salmonella typhimurium TA1537 more than twice the control values under the condition with metabolic activation system. In the cytogenetic test on chinese hamster lung cells, NQ-Y15 showed significant chromosomal aberrations, but the incidence was significantly reduced in the presence of metabolic activation.

        This study was designed to investigate potential endocrine disrupting effects of several industrial wastewater effluents discharged from cosmetic, plaiting, paint, textile industry using EROD bioassay and E-Screen assay The results of E-screen assay showed that textile industrial wastewater could act as a full agonist and cosmetics and plaiting industrial wastewater could act as a partial agonist On the contrary, the wastewater discharged from paint industry did not show any estrogenic effect Estrogenic activity in the effluents of cosmetic and paint industrial wastewater was lower than that in the influents indicating that the wastewater treatment process minimized the effects of discharges on water quality Despite of these results, it was recognized that wastewater treatment was not always minimize toxic impact In this study, increased estrogenic effect was observed in the effluents of plating and textile wastewater, and EROD activity was increased in the effluents of cosmetic and plating wastewater.
