Classification of Traffic Flows into QoS Classes by Unsupervised Learning and KNN Clustering
( Yi Zeng ),( Thomas M. Chen ) 한국인터넷정보학회 2009 KSII Transactions on Internet and Information Syst Vol.3 No.2
Traffic classification seeks to assign packet flows to an appropriate quality of service (QoS) class based on flow statistics without the need to examine packet payloads. Classification proceeds in two steps. Classification rules are first built by analyzing traffic traces, and then the classification rules are evaluated using test data. In this paper, we use self-organizing map and K-means clustering as unsupervised machine learning methods to identify the inherent classes in traffic traces. Three clusters were discovered, corresponding to transactional, bulk data transfer, and interactive applications. The K-nearest neighbor classifier was found to be highly accurate for the traffic data and significantly better compared to a minimum mean distance classifier.
Passive Smoking and Cervical Cancer Risk: A Meta-analysis Based on 3,230 Cases and 2,982 Controls
Zeng, Xian-Tao,Xiong, Ping-An,Wang, Fen,Li, Chun-Yi,Yao, Juan,Guo, Yi Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2012 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.13 No.6
Objective: Passive smoking has been considered as a risk factor of many cancers. To examine whether it might also pose a risk for cervical cancer, we performed a meta-analysis based on published case-control studies. Methods: We searched the PubMed database and references of included studies up to February 10th, 2012 for relevant studies. After two authors independently assessed the methodological quality and extracted data, a meta-analysis was conducted using CMA v2 software. Publication bias was evaluated by funnel plot, using Egger's and Begg's tests. Results: Finally 11 eligible studies yielded, involving 3,230 cases and 2,982 controls. The results showed that women who never smoke but exposed to smoking experience a 73% increase in risk of cervical cancer compared with non-exposed women (OR = 1.73, 95% CI = 1.35 - 2.21, p<0.001). Subgroup and sensitivity analyses indicated this result to be robust. Moderate publication bias was detected by visualing funnel plot, Egger's and Begg's tests. Conclusion: Based on currently available evidence, the findings of this meta-analysis suggests that passive smoking significantly and independently increases the risk of cervical cancer.

In this work, Ag3PO4/In2S3 nanocomposites with low loading of In2S3 (5-15 wt %) are fabricated by two step chemical precipitation approach. The microstructure, composition and improved photoelectrochemical properties of the asprepared composites are studied by X-ray diffraction pattern (XRD), field emission scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), photocurrent density, EIS and amperometric i-t curve analysis. It is found that most of In2S3 nanoparticles are deposited on the surfaces of Ag3PO4. The as-prepared Ag3PO4/ In2S3 composite (10 wt%) is selected and investigated by SEM and TEM, which exhibits special morphology consisting of lager size substrate (Ag3PO4), particles and some nanosheets (In2S3). The introduction of In2S3 is effective at improving the charge separation and transfer efficiency of Ag3PO4/In2S3, resulting in an enhancement of photoelectric behavior. The origin of the enhanced photoelectrochemical activity of the In2S3-modified Ag3PO4 may be due to the improved charge separation, photocurrent stability and oriented electrons transport pathways in environment and energy applications.
Comments on the Fifth Jurisdiction under the Montreal Convention 1999
( Zeng Yi Xuan ) 한국항공우주정책·법학회 2009 한국항공우주정책·법학회지 Vol.24 No.1
One of the most significant additions to the Warsaw Convention liability system , brought about by the coming into force of the Montreal Convention 1999(MC 99), was the creation of the new so-called fifth jurisdiction, whereby an Article 17 action for damages for passanger bodily injury or death only, may be brought at the option of the claimant/plaintiff. The fifth jurisdiction-the pernanent residence of the passenger at the time of the accident, provided that the carrier has a specified business presence in that jurisdiction?was one of the provisions of MC99 that provoked the most debate at the Montreal Conference leading to the adoption of MC99. Some scholars in China fear that the fifth jurisdiction will be abused after the MC99 came into force to China in 2005. The present article argues that the fifth jurisdiction would not be abused as long as such international private doctrines as forum non-conveniens are applied by the trial court appropriately. The article also points out that the challenge before the legislative body of China is to amend the civil aviation law and other related laws so that to solve the conflicts among the laws and meet the obligations provided by the MC99.
NUMERICAL SIMULATION AND PREDICTION OF NEGATIVE STORM SURGE IN THE YANGTZE RIVER ESTUARY
Zeng Hao Qin,Yi Hong Duan,De Bao Hu,Mao Xing Gong 한국해안해양공학회 1999 학술강연회 발표논문초록집 Vol.1 No.1
An attempt is made by using both statistical model and multi-layer simplified ECOM-Si model with temperature and salinity effects neglected to investigate numerically the negative storm surge (SS) in the Yangtze River estuary. An operational system for predicting the negative SS are constructed in conjunction of ECOM-Si model with the operational limited-area fine-mesh numerical weather prediction (NWP) model developed by the Shanghai Typhoon Institute(STI).To test the reliability of ECOM-Si model and to understand the computational feature of the model in simulating sea surface elevation, both semi-diurnal tide computation at the river mouth tidal station and numerical SS simulations under the action of idealized easterly and westerly winds are completed. Based on these experiments, a series of negative SS simulations induced by the cold wave, tropical and extratropical cyclones are carried out respectively, in which the objective analysis data of atmospheric forcings on the sea surface are offered by STI NWP model. Case experiments show that the predicted peak negative SS are coincident with the real ones and the phase differences between them are within a acceptable limit. The system is hopeful in operational use for predicting negative SS in the Yangtze River estuary.
Skin Effect of Rotating Magnetic Fields in Liquid Bridge
Yi Zhang,Zhong Zeng,Liping Yao,Yuui Yokota,Yoshi Kawazoe,Akira Yoshikawa 한국자기학회 2017 Journal of Magnetics Vol.22 No.2
A rotating magnetic field (RMF) Ф₁-Ф₂ model was developed in consideration of the skin effect. The rotating magnetic field’s induced three-dimensional flow was simulated numerically, and the influence of the skin effect was investigated. The rotating magnetic field drives the rotating convection in the azimuthal direction, and a secondary convection appears in the radial-meridional direction. The results indicate that ignoring the skin effect results in a smaller azimuthal velocity component and larger radial and axial velocity components, and that the deviation becomes more obvious with the larger dimensionless shielding parameter K.
