Properties of fucoidan used for functional cosmetic ingredients and the effect of fucoidan molecular weight on the cosmetic functions were studied. Fucoidan was extracted from Undaria pinnatifida sporophylls and molecular weight (35~160kDa) of fucoidan was controlled by contact glow discharge electrolysis (CGDE). To test possibility of fucoidan as a cosmetics material, tyrosinase inhibition property, water-holding property, elastase activity inhibition property and DPPH free radical scavenging property were measured. Water-holding property of fucoidan was higher than that of hyaruronic acid, which is known as the one of the best water-holding material. The water-holding strength of fucoidan slightly increase as molecular weight of fucoidan decrease, Elastase activity inhibition (anti wrinkle effect) of fucoidan was higher than that of adenosine using standard material for anti wrinkle test. Optimum molecular weight of fucoidan to obtain highest tyrosin inhibition effect, elastase inhibition effect and radical scavenger effect is 100kDa.

<P><B>Abstract</B></P><P>In the northeastern Yeongnam Massif of South Korea, voluminous granitoids were emplaced from Mesozoic to Paleoproterozoic period. Nonggeori (NG) and Naedeokri (ND) granites are known as two of Paleo- to Meso-proterozoic plutons in the northeastern margin of the Yeongnam Massif. They occur as stocks intruding Precambrian metasediments at the Taebaek area in northeastern part of South Korea. Pegmatites occur at adjoining areas either near or between NG and ND granites. The pegmatites have experienced tin mineralization. The NG and ND granites consist of quartz, plagioclase, K-feldspar, biotite and muscovite. The accessory minerals are tourmaline, zircon, apatite, chlorite and calcite. The mineral assemblages and major chemical compositions of the two granites are very similar. Geochemically, the NG and ND granites are strongly peraluminous, with a molar ratio of A/CNK from 1.13 to 1.46 for NG and ND granites and 1.12 to 1.34 for pegmatites. In the chondrite-normalized diagrams, the NG and ND granites have characteristics of LREE-enriched, HREE-depleted patterns and large negative Eu anomalies. However, the pegmatite shows two types of the REE pattern. One is flattened type with highly negative Eu anomalies, the other is slightly LREE enriched with strong positive Eu anomalies. Trace element characteristics of NG, ND granites and pegmatites are generally compatible with those of syn-collisonal granite rather than volcanic arc granite. The granites show Sm–Nd whole rock age of 1865±120Ma with <I>ϵ</I><SUB>Nd</SUB> (1.87Ga)=−7.0, suggesting light-REE enriched continental like feature. Based on the initial <I>ϵ</I><SUB>Nd</SUB> value and trace element geochemistry, the NG and ND granites apparently were originated from remelting (or recycling) of crustal materials. However, ultimately, the protolith of NG, ND granites including neighbor pegmatites was derived from depleted mantle sources, which are related with those that had been involved in producing East Asian crust such as the basement of the Sino-Korean Craton during the Archean. Particularly, the Precambrian granitoids from the Yeongnam Massif may provide critical evidence for unraveling Precambrian plate tectonics and crustal evolution in East Asia including Japanese islands.</P>

본 논문에서는 차량 내부에서 발생되는 안테나 방사패턴의 변화를 관찰하기 위해 모노폴 안테나를 사용하여 차량 내부에서 안테나의 방사패턴을 측정하였다. 다수의 반사파가 존재하는 좁은 공간에서는 안테나의 특성이 변해 무선 통신 환경에 영향을 끼칠 수 있다. 그러므로 실제 차량 내부에서 제공되는 무선 통신 서비스인 GPS 와 Wibro 동작 주파수 대역에서 안테나 방사패턴에 대한 모의실험과 측정실험을 수행하였다. 모의실험은 광선추적법을 기반으 로 하였으며 측정실험은 각 동작 주파수 대역을 중심 주파수로 갖는 두 쌍의 모노폴 안테나를 제작하여 자유공간과 차량 내부에서 주파수에 따라 방사패턴을 측정하였다. 모의실험과 측정실험의 결과를 바탕으로 차량 내부와 자유공간 에서의 안테나 방사패턴을 비교하였을 때 안테나의 전방향성 특성을 유지되며, 차량 내부에서 안테나의 수신전력이 자유공간에서의 결과보다 증가하는 것을 확인 할 수 있었다. 또한 주파수가 증가할수록 자유공간과 차량 내부에서의 수신전력 차이가 증가하는 것을 확인하였다. In this paper, the antenna radiation pattern inside the vehicle is presented for observing the change occurring in non-anechoic environment using monopole antenna. The environment for radio communication can be affected by antenna characteristic variation inside the small space existing multi reflection waves. To perform simulation and measurement about antenna radiation pattern, the radio frequency bands for GPS and Wibro services expected to use inside the vehicle is selected. The simulation is based on the ray-tracing method and the radiation pattern is measured inside the vehicle and in free space using monopole antenna having those frequency bands. In accordance with the measurement and simulation results, when two antennas are put inside the vehicle, the omni-directional characteristic of the antenna is maintained but the received power is increased than free space case and the difference between the each case of measurements is increased as the operating frequency is increased.
Treatments of Infra-Orbital Dark Circles by Various Etiologies

Dark circles refer to visible darkness of the infra-orbital areas. Dark circles are a cosmetic concern for many individuals, although not a medical concern. Moreover, clear definitions and possible causes of dark circles have not been elucidated. This study reviews the possible causes and treatment options for dark circles based on a review of the medical literature and the authors’ clinical experience. Potential factors that contribute to dark circles include excessive pigmentation, shadowing due to tear troughs and infra-orbital fat herniation, shadowing due to infraorbital laxity and wrinkles, and thin, translucent skin overlying the orbicularis oculi muscle. Given the different possible causes for dark circles, therapeutic modalities must be individualized for each patient. Because various factors cause dark circles, it is useful to identify the underlying causes in order to select the appropriate treatment. (Ann Dermatol 30(5) 522∼528, 2018)

Pulsed lasers at the 613 nm and 1064 nm wavelengths on nanoseconds have been utilized to characterize the damage on Si photodiode exposed to intense illumination. Morphological damages and structural changes at sites on the photodiode irradiated during microseconds of laser pulses were analyzed by FE-SEM images and XRD patterns, respectively. The removal of oxide coating, ripple, melting marks, ridges, and crater on photodiodes were definitely observed in order of increasing the pulse intensities generated above the damage threshold. Then, the degradation in photosensitivity of the Si photodiode irradiated by high power density pulses was measured as a function of laser irradiation time at the various wavelengths. The free charge carrier and thermal diffusion mechanisms could have been invoked to characterize the damage. The relative photosensitivity data calculated using the thermal diffusion model proposed in this paper have been compared with the experimental data irradiated above the damage threshold.
