A construction of commutative nilpotent semigroups
Qiong Liu,Tongsuo Wu,Meng Ye 대한수학회 2013 대한수학회보 Vol.50 No.3
In this paper, we construct nilpotent semigroups S such that Sn = {0}, Sn−1 6≠{0} and Γ(S) is a refinement of the star graph K1,n−3 with center c together with finitely many or infinitely many end vertices adjacent to c, for each finite positive integer n ≥ 5. We also give counting formulae to calculate the number of the mutually non-isomorphic nilpo- tent semigroups when n = 5, 6 and in finite cases.

The traditional design procedure of a prestressed concrete (PC) cable-stayed bridge is complex and time-consuming. The designers have to repeatedly modify the configuration of the large number of design parameters to obtain a feasible design scheme which maybe not an economical design. In order to efficiently achieve an optimum design for PC cable-stayed bridges, a multi-parameter optimization technique is proposed. In this optimization technique, the number of prestressing tendons in girder is firstly set as one of design variables, as well as cable forces, cable areas and cross-section sizes of the girders and the towers. The stress and displacement constraints are simultaneously utilized to ensure the safety and serviceability of the structure. The target is to obtain the minimum cost design for a PC cable-stayed bridge. Finally, this optimization technique is carried out by a developed PC cable-stayed bridge optimization program involving the interaction of the parameterized automatically modeling program, the finite element structural analysis program and the optimization algorithm. A low-pylon PC cable-stayed bridge is selected as the example to test the proposed optimization technique. The optimum result verifies the capability and efficiency of the optimization technique, and the significance to optimize the number of prestressing tendons in the girder. The optimum design scheme obtained by the application can achieve a 24.03% reduction in cost, compared with the initial design.

By two-step solid state reaction, Mg2Si0.8Ge0.2 was successfully synthesized .The effect of Ag-doping concentration on the thermoelectric transport properties of p-type Mg2Si0.8Ge0.2 was investigated. With the increasing of Ag-doping concentration, the electrical conductivity σ and Seebeck coefficient α increase correspondingly over the measuring temperature range (300-800K).The peaks of the curves of Seebeck coefficient versus temperature shift towards the lower temperature .When the doping concentration of Ag is 16000ppm(nominal molar percent), the power factor P of Mg2Si0.8Ge0.2 reaches 4.4×10-4W/mK2 at 800K,obviously improved in comparison with the sample with no additive .

Liu, Qiong,Wu, Tongsuo,Ye, Meng Korean Mathematical Society 2013 대한수학회보 Vol.50 No.3
In this paper, we construct nilpotent semigroups S such that $S^n=\{0\}$, $S^{n-1}{\neq}\{0\}$ and ${\Gamma}(S)$ is a refinement of the star graph $K_{1,n-3}$ with center $c$ together with finitely many or infinitely many end vertices adjacent to $c$, for each finite positive integer $n{\geq}5$. We also give counting formulae to calculate the number of the mutually non-isomorphic nilpotent semigroups when $n=5$, 6 and in finite cases.

Xingpei Wu,Qiong Wang,Xibiao Cai,Meng Li 보안공학연구지원센터 2015 International Journal of Future Generation Communi Vol.8 No.2
The paper makes a brief introduction of Multiple Carrier- Code Division Multiple Access (MC-CDMA) scheme based on the principles of Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) and CDMA, and a mathematical model of the uplink is established in MC-CDMA system. The simulation research on different multi-user detection methods in MC-CDMA system is implemented by using MATLAB software, and it also compares the impacts to system performance by several different multi-user detection methods, such as De-Correlation (DEC) multi-user detection, Minimum Mean Square Error (MMSE) multi-user detection and Parallel Interference Cancellation (PIC) multi-user detection, based on understanding and analyzing the experimental results. In addition, the paper also focuses on the research of multi level PIC multi-user detection performance in different primary detection methods and different series detections.

The goals of this study were to investigate the role of the Notch1/PDGFRβ/ROCK1 signaling pathway in the pathogenesis of pulmonary fibrosis and to explore the possibility of treating fibrosis by targeting Notch1. Lung tissues from patients with pulmonary fibrosis were examined for the expression of Notch1/PDGFRβ/ROCK1 using RT-qPCR, western blotting, and immunostaining. Cultured mouse lung pericytes were transfected with Notch1-overexpressed vectors or shRNA targeting PDGFRβ/ROCK1 to examine cell behaviors, including proliferation, cell cycle arrest, and differentiation toward myofibroblasts. Finally, a mouse pulmonary fibrosis model was prepared, and a Notch1 inhibitor was administered to observe tissue morphology and pericyte cell behaviors. Human pulmonary fibrotic tissues presented with overexpression of Notch1, PDGFRβ, and ROCK1, in addition to a prominent transition of pericytes into myofibroblasts. In cultured mouse lung pericytes, overexpression of Notch1 led to the accelerated proliferation and differentiation of cells, and it also increased the expression of the PDGFRβ and ROCK1 proteins. The knockdown of PDGFRβ/ROCK1 in pericytes remarkably suppressed pericyte proliferation and differentiation. As further substantiation, the administration of a Notch1 inhibitor in a mouse model of lung fibrosis inhibited the PDGFRβ/ROCK1 pathway, suppressed pericyte proliferation and differentiation, and alleviated the severity of fibrosis. Our results showed that the Notch1 signaling pathway was aberrantly activated in pulmonary fibrosis, and this pathway may facilitate disease progression via mediating pericyte proliferation and differentiation. The inhibition of the Notch1 pathway may provide one promising treatment strategy for pulmonary fibrosis.

Background and Aim: No firm evidence of HPV infection in esophageal cancer has been established to date. The aim of this meta-analysis was to investigate the prevalence of HPV 16 in esophageal cancer in China, which had a high burden of the disease. Materials and Methods: Studies on HPV infection and esophageal cancer were identified and a random-effects model was used to pool the summary prevalence and corresponding 95% confidence intervals (CIs). Results: A total of 3,429 esophageal cancer cases were evaluated from 26 eligible studies in this meta-analysis. The summary estimate for HPV16 prevalence was 0.381 (95% CI: 0.283, 0.479). The prevalence varied by geographical areas of the study, publication year, HPV detection method and types of specimen. In sensitivity analysis, HPV 16 prevalence ranged from 0.368 (95% CI: 0.276, 0.460) to 0.397 (95% CI: 0.286, 0.508). Conclusions: The results indicate a relatively high level of HPV 16 prevalence in esophageal cancer among Chinese population, although there was variation between different variables. Further studies are needed to elucidate the role of HPV in esophageal carcinogenesis with careful consideration of study design and laboratory detection method, providing more accurate assessment of the HPV status in esophageal cancer.
