Human epithelial cell cultures were initiated from explants of normal human oral mucosa. Growth parameter and cell type were assessed by DNA concentration and morphology of the cell lines. Tissues were excised and epithelial cells isolated by collagenase digestion. Spermine was used in order to inhibit overgrowth of the epithelial cells by fibroblast. The effects of different medium formulations were compared. Cultures maintained on the same volume of RPMI 1640 and Dulbecco's modified minimum essential medium containing 10 % fetal bovine serum, 10 ?g/ml of insulin, lng/ml of somatomedin and 10 ng/ml of epidermal growth factor showed optimal and maximal growth. For each cultured human oral epithelial cell the DNA content was in the- range of 5.7 pg to 6.6 pg. This culture system provides epithelial cells that can be used for a variety of dental and biochemical studies.

고등학교 운동 선수의 일탈 행동에 관한 연구

This study is aimed to verify what are the major factors affecting teenager athletics' deviant behaviors, being trained systematically and continuously at schools, and to present the basic material to prevent those behaviors and guide after the fact and foster young athletics at schools. 1. The level of deviant behaviors depending on gender showed significant differences in every type of deviation from public order, property, status, interpersonal relations, and seclusion deviation. Male sthletics were on higher level than female in all 5 types of deviation. 2. The level depending on parents' professions showed significant differences only in the type of deviation from status. The level was high on the professions of professional work, administrative work, blue color, sales,, clerical work in sequence. 3. The level depending on parents' educational level showed significant differences in the types of devation from public order, property, status, interpersonal relations. On the deviation from order the level was high on over post-graduate, high school graduate, and middle school graduate in sequence. On property, over postgraduate, middle school graduate, and primary school graduate; on status, over postgraduate, universities graduate, and high school graduate; and on interpersonal relations, over postgraduate, universities graduate, and middle school graduate, all in sequence. 4. The level depending on amount of allowance showed significant differences in all 5 tyupes of deviation. On the deviation from public order, the level was high on the amount of over ￦160,000 and ￦120,000∼￦160,000 in sequence. 5. The level depending on athletics's career showed significant differences in all5 types of devation. On the deviation from public order, property, and status, the longer the career, the higher the level of deviation. 6. The level depending on sport events showed significant differences in all 5 types of deviation.

The present study was undertaken to compare the pharmacological activity of crude Cnidii Rhizoma reported with the clinical uses in the oriental medicine. Crude Cnidii Rhizoma used for the treatment of anemia, body chill, menstural irregularity and menstural pain as hematic tonic effector, sedative, adodyne and clear extravasated blood. Therefore we tested the effects of Cnidii Rhizoma water extract on the liverprotective activities in the rats. The results obtained form liver microsomal enzyme assay, measurement of serum and liver alanine, aspartate aminotransferase and lipid accumulation indicated that Cnidii Rhizoma extract showed significant liver-protective activities against benzo(a)pyrene poisoning.

This study was contucted to investigate the terrestrial vegetation in the western part of Chonlabuk-do. In studied area, 648 species of vascular plants of 393 genera and 107 families were observed. of these, 197 species were woody plants and 446 species were herbaceous plants. investigations based on the Degree of Green Naturality(DGN) indicated that the grade 2 was most widely distributed(64%) followed by the grade 6(23.3%) and the grade one(11.8%) and grade 7(0.47%). only alimited area was belong to the grade 3,4,5(012% each). The biomass and the production in the studied area was 22, 720.9t/ha and 7,657.64/ha/Year, respectively. The amount of oxygen produced and the amount of SO₂absorbed by the vegetation of the studied area was estimated as 2,942.3 tons and 3,497.47 tons, respectively. of the studied area,8.12% was reserve forest land, 12.99% was sub-reserve forest land, and 78.27% was non-forested land.

요골동맥과 복재정맥을 이용한 관상동맥우회술의 조기성적

Background:Increasing interest and use of arterial conduits is based on the better patency of left internal thoracic artery(LITA) than that of saphenous vein(SV) graft. We compared the early result of coronary artery bypass grafting(CABG) using LITA and radial artery(RA group) with CABG using LITA and SV only(SV group). Material and Method:We compared the early operative results of 6 cases in RA group with 18 cases in SV group selected from 24 cases that had CABG between January 2006 and December 2006. We analyzed each group on the preoperative risk factors and operative results. Results:We can’t find significant differences in clinical and hemodynamic characteristics before surgery. There were no statically significant difference between two groups in operative mortality and each morbidities(postoperative intraaortic balloon pump insertion, bleeding, stroke, perioperative myocardial infarction, wound dehiscence), respectively. However, the overall incidence of conventional CABG using cardiopulmonary bypass was higher in RA group compared to SV group(p=0.016). Accordingly, RA group had longer duration of ventilation time(p=0.004) and ICU stay(p=0.003) than SV group with statically significant difference between two groups in hospital stay. The graft patency on postoperative coronary angiography or computerized tomographic angiography at 7-14 days after operation in both group patients were 100%(includeing LITA, RA and SV). Conclusion:We had early good operative results in RA group and SV group. 관상동맥우회술에서 내흉동맥의 장기개통률이 복재정맥보다 우수하다는 것이 알려짐과 더불어 두 개의 내흉동맥을 이용한 군에서의 장기 임상 성적이 하나의 내흉동맥만을 이용한 군에서의 성적보다 우월하다 것이 알려지면서 최근에는 동맥이식편의 사용이 증가하고 있다1)2). 좌내흉동맥이 동맥이식편중 가장 많이 그리고 오래 전부터 사용되어왔고 그 장기 개통률이 매우 우수한 것으로 증명되면서, 이식편으로 사용 가능한 다른 동맥이식편에 대한 사용이 늘어나고 있는 추세이다. 좌내흉동맥 이외에 사용될 수 있는 동맥이식편으로는 요골동맥, 우내흉동맥, 우위망막동맥 등이 있다. 이 중 우내흉동맥은 좌내흉동맥과 같이 사용한 경우 장기 생존율이 높다는 보고도 있지만 가용길이가 짧아 이용에 한계가 있고 수술시간이 길어지며 상처 합병증과 기술적인 문제 등이 있다2). 요골동맥은 Carpentier 등3)에 의해 1970년대 초 처음 이식편으로 소개되었으나 추적 관상동맥조영술상 높은 이식편 부전으로 인해 사용이 중단되었다가 1989년 다시 소개되어 주목을 받게 되었고4), 요골동맥박리술의 기술적인 변형과 항연축제의 사용으로 요골동맥의 연축을 최소화하여 사용하면서 많은 저자들에 의해 좋은 임상 성적과 높은 개통률을 보이고 있다5-7). 본 이화여자대학교 목동병원 흉부외과에서도 요골동맥을 좌내흉동맥에 이은 두 번째 동맥이식편으로 사용하고 있는데 본 연구에서는 본원에서 경험한 요골동맥을 사용하여 시행한 관상동맥우회술의 임상 성적과 수술 후 관상동맥조영술 혹은 컴퓨터 단층 혈관조영술 결과를 분석해 보고 아울러 이를 요골동맥을 사용하지 않고 내흉동맥과 복재정맥만을 이용한 군의 성적과 비교 분석해 보았다.

Necrotizing fasciitis is defined as infectious disease showing extensive necrosis of the superficial fascia with widespread involvement of the surrounding tissues and concurrent systemic toxicity. It is found commonly in the extremities, the trunk and the perineum, but shows extremely rare occurrence in the well vascularized area such as head and neck area. Occurred in the head and neck area, it is called "cervicofacial necrotizing fasciitis" (CFNF). It is a fatal disease which carries a mortality rate up to 60%. Early diagnosis, aggressive surgical debridement of necrotic tissues and massive antibiotics therapy are essential for achieving a favorable outcome. We present a case of cervicofacial necrotizing fasciitis in 35-year-old male patient with literature review.

연골막판으로 싼 정제된 산호의 조직학적 연구

Autogenous costal cartilage graft has been commonly used for reconstruction of auricular deformity. However, the risk of complication and discomfort at the donor site, as well as distortion of the graft due to morphological change in the cartilage have been serious drawbacks to this procedure. Previous studies examining the chondrogenic potential of perichondrium have suggested that perichondrium may be used as graft for cartilage reconstruction. When a perichondrial flap or a free perichondrium was used as graft, new cartilage formed appositional to the grafted perichondrium. However, the neocartilage was often irregular in shape and varied considerably in quantity. In this study, the feasibility of controlling the shape and the mass of neocartilage was investigated using coral, a porous biomaterial, as a template. A coral a template was wrapped with perichondrial flap from the ears of New Zealand white rabbits and placed into a subcutaneous pocket in the rabbits and placed into a subcutaneous pocket in the rabbit's back by incision. A total of 12 animals were used. Formation of new cartilage was later evaluated by gross and histological examination of the perichondrial flap and the coral template. New cartilage was formed in 11 animals. Immature chondrocytes were visible by 3 weeks after the surgery, and by 8 weeks the immature chondrocytes had formed a cartilage. New cartilage was formed only on the surface of the coral template. These results indicated that the shape and the mass of new cartilage may be controlled by using coral template. Therefore, the desired shape of cartilage may be achieved using a coral template of corresponding shape, and this may help in correcting subtle auricular contour defect and in correcting other structural defects that also require new cartilage formation.

To find out the life style of the obesity boys and girls, I conducted a survey from 922 boys and girls in the middle school students of C city in K province about their ideas about being obese, their home environment, eating habit, exercise style, and how they spend their free time. By analysing the result, I got the following conclusions. 1.Their ideas about being obese and home environment According to the survey 159 of 922 students (17.25%) were catagorized as being obese and when asked whether they think they're obese, the obesity group showed positive responses. The obesity group had high rates of having their parents as being obese, especially their mothers. 2.Eating habit They usually had more than 3 meals a day but the control group ate more frequently than the obesity group, but the obesity group ate faster. When asked, the time they eat meals and the number of times they eat snacks a day, the control group gave higher respose rate than the obesity group. Usually the control group ate more snacks before going to bed than the obesity group and the obesity group prefered to eat meat. 3.Exercise style Both groups were using their houses and playground near by their house to exercise and the control group premiered soccer as their favorite sport compared to the obesity group. 4.Leisure time Their average sleeping hour was 6-7 hours and the control group slept more than 7 hours showing difference with the obesity group.

This study aimed at seeking system characteristic constant in power system as simple as possible and, by using it, calculating optimum reactive power source. The results are as follow. 1. The theory employed in this research showed the excellence of obtaining system characteristic constant as fast as possible. 2. Any system characteristic constant reasonable to the system's flow condition, whether it was on heavy or light load, was to be obtained. 3. The validity of the theory was affirmed by some calculating examples in terms of model system.

우리나라 주택공간구성에서 보이는 전이적 연속성에 관한 연구

The purpose of this study is to grasp the peculiarities of spatial sequence and transition expressed on modern residential space of Korea. For the analyses, 8 famous house designed by Korean architects were selected. Three aspects of spatial sequence such as spatial composition, visual sequence, and visual changes of space were analyzed. In the spatial composition of houses, the linear composition was emphasized to arrtact the sequential visual experience. And the characteristic spatial composition to induce the conversion of direction and the intended sequential movement were used variously. And the inductive walls, change of level of floor and height of ceiling, and various use of corridor or stairs were intentionally emphasized. Change of visual scene according to spatial experience in each stage of spatial connection were also stressed. Based on the above analyses, 14 'patterns' of spatial composition were extracted as a set of language for design of houses.
