New polymorphism of major histocompatibility complex B-G genes was investigated by amplification and digestion of a 401bp fragment including intron 1 and exon 2 using polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism (PCRRFLP) technique with two restriction enzymes of Msp I and Tas I in eight breeds of Chinese indigenous chickens and one exotic breed. In the fragment region of the gene, three novel single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) were detected at the two restriction sites. We found the transition of two nucleotides of A294G and T295C occurred at Tas I restriction site, and consequently led to a nonsynonymous substitution of asparagine into serine at position 54 within the deduced amino acid sequence of immunoglobulin variableregion- like domain encoded by the exon 2 of B-G gene. It was observed at rare frequency that a single mutation of A294G occurring at the site, also caused an identical substitution of amino acid, asparagine 54-to-serine, to that we described previously. And the transversion of G319C at Msp I site led to a non-synonymous substitution, glutamine 62-to-histidine. The new alleles and allele frequencies identified by the PCR-RFLP method with the two enzymes were characterized, of which the allele A and B frequencies at Msp I and Tas I loci were given disequilibrium distribution either in the eight Chinese local breeds or in the exotic breed. By comparison, allele A at Msp I locus tended to be dominant, while, the allele B at Tas I locus tended to be dominant in all of the breeds analyzed. In Tibetan chickens, the preliminary association analysis revealed that no significant difference was observed between the different genotypes identified at the Msp I and Tas I loci and the laying performance traits, respectively.

Background: Coronary artery spasm (CAS) is known to be a risk factor of acute coronary syndrome and angina pectoris. However, there is no currently available data with larger study population regarding long-term clinical outcomes of CAS in real world clinical practice. Objectives: We evaluated the prevalence of CAS and the impact of CAS on 5-year clinical outcomes in a series of Asian CAS patients documented by intracoronary acetylcholine (Ach) provocation test. Methods: A total of 1413 consecutive patients without significant coronary artery disease (CAD) who underwent Ach provocation test between Nov. 2004 and Oct. 2008 were enrolled. Significant CAS was defined as >70% of narrowing by incremental intracoronary injection of 20, 50 and 100μg. Patients were divided into two groups based on the presence of significant CAS (the non-CAS group: n=640, the CAS group; n=773). To adjust potential confounders, a propensity score matched (PSM) analysis was performed using the logistic regression model. Results: A total of 54.7% (773/1413) patients were diagnosed as CAS documented by Ach provocation test. After PSM analysis, 2 propensity-matched groups (451 pairs, n=902, C-statistic=0.677) were generated. Despite of similar incidence of individual hard endpoints including mortality, myocardial infarction and revascularization, the CAS group showed the higher trend of recurrent angina requiring follow up angiography than the non-CAS group up to 5years (HR; 1.56, 95% C.I.; 0.99-2.46, p=0.054). Conclusions: The prevalence of CAS was 54.7%. Although the cumulative incidence of recurrent angina requiring follow up coronary angiography seems to be increased up to 5years in CAS patients, CAS patients was not associated with major individual and composite clinical outcomes such as mortality, MI, PCI, CVA with optimal medical therapy as compared with patients without CAS.

The separation of a hydrogen isotope mixture on porous materials was studied using equilibrium and breakthrough experiments. The adsorption equilibria of H2 and D2 on SBA-15 with mesopores and molecular sieves 5A, Y, and 10X with micropores were measured at 77 K using the volumetric method. The breakthrough experiments of a H2 and D2 mixture in each adsorbent bed were carried out at various conditions of flow rate and pressure. The equilibrium ratio of D2 to H2 on mesoporous molecular sieves was larger than the ratio on microporous molecular sieves (SBA-15 > 10X > Y > 5A), but the difference among the adsorbents decreased with increases in pressure. On the other hand, the order of breakthrough separation factor showed the opposite result (SBA-15 < 10X < Y < 5A). The breakthrough separation factors for zeolite 10X was approximately equal to the equilibrium ratio of D2 to H2 at the corresponding partial pressures, whereas zeolites 5A and Y showed higher breakthrough separation factors than their equilibrium ratios. In SBA-15, the separation factors from breakthrough results were even smaller than the corresponding equilibrium ratio. In the microporous adsorbent with a limited pore size (zeolite 5A in the study), the diffusion mechanism contributed to the separation of hydrogen isotope gases as one of key factors.
Compactness in the adiabatic limit of disk vortices
Wang, D.,Xu, G. Springer Science + Business Media 2017 Mathematische zeitschrift Vol.287 No.1
<P>This paper is the first input towards an open analogue of the quantum Kirwan map. We consider the adiabatic limit of the symplectic vortex equation over the unit disk for a Hamiltonian G-manifold with Lagrangian boundary condition, by blowing up the metric on the disk. We define an appropriate notion of stable solutions in the limit, and prove that any sequence of disk vortices with energy uniformly bounded has a subsequence converging to such a stable object. We also proved several analytical properties of vortices over the upper half plane, which are new type of bubbles appearing in our compactification.</P>
Development of a vision-based automatic vaccine injection system for flatfish
Lee, D.G.,Cha, B.J.,Park, S.W.,Kwon, M.G.,Xu, G.C.,Kim, H.J. Applied Science Publishers ; Elsevier Science Ltd 2013 Aquacultural engineering Vol.54 No.-
Traditionally, flatfish vaccination has been performed manually a laborious and time-consuming, procedure with low accuracy. The handling requirement also makes it prone to contamination. With a view to eliminating these drawbacks, we designed an automatic vaccine system in which the injection is delivered by a Cartesian coordinate robot (also called a linear robot) guided by a vision system. The automatic vaccine injection system is driven by an injection site location algorithm that uses a template-matching technique. The proposed algorithm was designed to derive the time and possible angles of injection by comparing a search area with a template. The algorithm is able to vaccinate various sizes of flatfish, even when they are loaded at different angles. We validated the performance of the proposed algorithm by analyzing the injection error according to randomly generated loading angles. The proposed algorithm allowed an injection rate of 2000 per hour on average. Vaccination of flatfish with a body length of up to 500mm was possible, even when the orientation of the fish was random. The injection errors in various sizes of flatfish were very small, ranging from 0 to 0.6mm.

China is the largest country which produce apple in the world. Apple industry plays a very important role in chinese agriculture section, especially for farmers` income. Recently chinese apple industry has been developing very quickly because of export. When the chinese apple goes to the world markets, it is also face up with some challenges. Apple industry is a labor intensive industry, so the labor inputs` proportion is very large. China has large labour force and the cost of production is relatively inexpensive. However, the technology, the quality and safety standards are not popularized, so there are difficulties for chinese apples market to enter into developed countries` market. This paper will first introduce about chinese apple industry`s current situation, focuses on the apple`s productivity and the changes of apple price. Secondly will introduce the current situation of apple`s export.

<P>This study investigated the effects of pretreatment methods (such as autoclave, ultra-sonication and electrolysis) of mixed microalgae consortia (predominantly composed of Scenedesmus followed by Chlorella species) from natural ecological niche. In addition, the cultivated biomass (wet) was subsequently utilized for fermentative H-2 production in mesophilic regime. The results showed that peak hydrogen production rate (HPR) and hydrogen yield (HY) were achieved from electrolysis pretreated algal consortia as 236 +/- 14 mL/L-d and 37.7 +/- 0.4 mL/g (volatile solids) VSadded, whereas the untreated algal consortia resulted in the turnout as 64 +/- 5 mL/L-d and 9.5 +/- 0.0 mL/g VSadded, respectively. The significant increment observed in HPR and HY values were nearly 4 times higher. The solubilization of organic matter during the pretreatment showed positive correlation with the H-2 production. The energy generation rate and yield of the corresponding pretreatment methods were as follows, 1.44, 1.79 and 2.65 kJ/L-d for autoclave, ultra-sonication and electrolysis, the corresponding yields also fell in the range of 0.32, 0.41 and 0.43 kJ/g VSadded, respectively.
