Personalized genetic medicine(PGM) is an attempt to understand the relationship between human genetic information and diseases, and to find a potential treatment and diagnostic method. Large research projects are under way with social concerns. ELSI research is aimed at understanding the implication of an innovative research from humanistic perspectives, and communicating the understanding with society and with scientists, thereby providing practical and concrete recommendations and guides. Of the ELSI studies, ethics of PGM research searches the value problems embedded in various perspectives on PGM and tries to answer the question whether it is permissible to implement certain types of research. A framework for ethical analysis is proposed and explained. The concept of risk in general was explored and its implication for ethical review of PGM in relation with the natures of PGM was given. The risks can be categorized: risks associated with the inherent characteristics of research/practice, risks associated with human eras and risks related social construction and (in)justice. Understanding the nature of risk will help the IRB’'s reviewing the PGM researches.

Historical Novels of Modem korea were remained a moral sense of Confucianism. It is still in the everyday lives of society in modem korea, and represented in korean novels. Historical Novels have been specially prepared for the occasion. In the thesis, I analyze historical novels, Lee kwang- su' s A Pathetic History of Danjong, Park Jong-Hwa's A Story of Expectation for Spring, Kim Dong-In's The Young Men, that reflect enlightenment of national spirit. This works is featured in the narrative code of moral sense of Confucianism. Characters of the works were formed in historical community and practiced ethical act of convention. In historical novels of Modem korea, one was discovered a distinctive quality that is immanent the form and meaning of confucian order. The consequent popularization of the historical stories is to be counted as the evidence for this situation. As a result of the criticism, narrative discourse of korean historical novels carried on a story of ancient times. Writers of historical novels .hold a deep grudge against colonialism. They possess the nature of enlightenment. In their works which dealt with the world of consciousness of moralistic literature, they represented mainly the contents of cultivating the spirit of national rights. Therefore the historial novels were derived their origin form the will to recovery of the national tradition.

Most of Kim Dongin's novels have sexual beings for character. This is important not only for studying Kim Dongin and his novels but also for studying Modern Korean Literary history. Characters describes themselves as sexual beings. They become modern subjects by describing themselves as sexual beings. The characters of Kim Dongin's novel as sexual beings reflect lives of early modern age. From this point, Kim Dongin differs from Lee Kwangsoo. For Lee Kwangsoo, Sex is a discipline to represent his enlightenment project. For Kim Dongin, sex is in characters' own charge rather than in control of the writer. The characters are described by the author but they often become storytellers and tell their experience to others. Individuality that early modern age's literary coteries sought is aspired by characters as sexual beings. In point of expressions of sex, characters of Kim Dongin's novels are subject of senses. They know how to find pleasure and possess it. Kim Dongin agrees to lives to find sex and enjoy pleasures. Describing sex everyone might experience in stage of life, Kim Dongin wanted to write novels which reflect the profundities of lives. Sexual beings represent people whose identity that reflect aspiration to become modern subjects. Kim Dongin refinedly expresses sexual materials treated as pornographies in popular literatures. Kim Dongin constructs sexual identities by the expressions. Stories including experiences about sex give opportunities to identify themselves to sexual beings and make them confess that they are subject of aspiration. Process of identifying by stories was more important modern problem than sexual experiences were. Kim Dongin demonstrates this by telling stories about sexual experience.
