만 5세 유아의 가정환경이 유아의 또래 유능성 및 문제행동에 미치는 영향에서 유아의 의사결정력 매개효과 = Mediated effect of 5-year-old children’s decision-making ability ininfluence of early home environment on peer competence and problematic behavior

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

A positive family environment in early childhood might have an affirmative effect on peer competence and problematic behavior. On the other hand, negative home surroundings might be considered to affect them negatively. It is predicted that children show a higher level of peer competence and lower problematic behavior if their decision-making ability intervenes in the process. Therefore, this study was conducted to examine how much the impact of a child`s early home environment on peer competence and problematic behavior was mediated by their decision-making ability. To confirm the intention of this study, the survey of 334 children and 334 mothers was carried out. The findings were as follows: First, a child`s early home environment has a positive correlation with peer competence, which is proved to be a higher level when home environment was combined with decision-making ability. Second, a child`s early home environment had a negative correlation with problematic behavior, which is confirmed to be further reduced when home environment was combined with decision-making ability. Consequently, children`s decision-making ability might be important variables to predict peer competence and problematic behavior along with their early home environment.
