우리나라 중?고등학생의 행복감 프로파일 탐색 = A Study on the Profile Analysis of Adolescents` Happiness

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The adolescents` happiness is important to their social-emotional development as well as academic achievement. The purpose of this study is to explore happiness profile of adolescents using Latent class analysis, and to investigate their differences of psychological characteristics among the profiles. The participants were 947 middle school students and 1,110 high schools students. they are taken from the Korean children and Youth Survey of the National Youth Policy Institute of South Korea. 9 scales of happiness was used; relationship variable(parents, teacher, peer), personal psychological variables(self-esteem, self-confidence, optimistic attitude), behavioral variable(delinquency, time on internet), academic achievement. The results of this study are as follows. First, 2 groups are extracted from middle school students: ‘helpless’, ‘healthy’ type. For high school students, 4 groups are extracted; ‘helpless’ ‘healthy’, ‘average’, ‘problematic’. The majority of adolescents are ‘healthy’ type. Secondly, 2 groups such as ‘helpless’, ‘healthy’ type are common for both middle school students and high school students. The results are compared with those findings about the middle school students and high school students Thirdly, ‘healthy’ type is significantly higher on self-management, achievement motivation, civility, problem solving and school adaptation. Therefore, it is important to increase adolescent` happiness for their development, adaptation and achievement. To enhance greater happiness among adolescents, program and intervention efforts are needed.
