The purpose of this study is to inverstigate the relationship between teachers' level of autonomous school management and their senses of potency and morale of teachers.
The concrete objectives of this study are as follows:
1. To analyze the level of autonomous school management.
2. To analyze the teachers' level of sense of potency.
3. To analyze teachers' level of morale.
4. To find out the relationship between the level of autonomous school management and teachers' level of a sense of potency and morale in primary schools.
5. To find out the relationship between teachers' level of sense of potency and morale in primary schools.
The objects of this investigation are 606 teachers at primary schools in Taechon, Chungnam province who answered three kinds of questionaires. The materials were alalyzed figuring out M, SD, t(F), and p according to the factcrs of teachers' backgrounds.
The results are as follows :
1. The level of autonomous school management for the primary school teachers working in Taechon. Chungnam province is above the average(Me=45) in every aspect.
The factors of teachers' backgrounds being analyzed, the level of autonomous school management of school masters was higher than that of school mistresses, that of manager teachers than that of teachers, that of aged teachers than that young teachers, that of teachers working in rural areas than that of teachers in urban areas, that of teachers at school which consists of 10 - 18 classes than that of teachers under 10 classes or over 19 classes.
2. Teachers' level of sense of potency for prImary school teachers working in Taechon, Chungnam province is avove the average (Me=45) in every aspect. The results of variation of teachers' backgrounds are that the level of sense of potency of school masters was higher than that of school mistresses, that of manager teachers than that of teachers, that of aged teachers than that young teachers, that of teachers working in rural areas than that of teachers working in urban areas, that of teachers at schools which consists of 10 - 18 classes than that of teachers under 10 classes or over 19 classes.
3. The level of teachers' morale for primary school teachers working in Taechon, Chungnam province is lower than that of teachers' average value (Me-45) in eveiy aspect. The result of variation of teachers' backgrounds are as follows : the level of morale of school masters was higher than that of school mistressess, that of manager teachers than that of teachers, that of aged teachers than that young teachers, that of teachers in rural areas than that of teachers working in urban areas, that of teachers at school which consists of 10 - 18 classes than that of teachers under 10 classes or over 19 classes.
4. The level of autonomous school management of high-ranked teachers is higher than that of a sense of potency and morale of low-ranked teachers.
5. The level of a sense of potency of high-ranked teachers is higher than that of morale of subordinate group teachers.
