전직 중장년 여성 프리랜서 강사의 강사 전문성 형성과정: 근거이론적 접근 = Formation Process of Instructor Expertise of Former Middle-Aged Female Freelance Instructors: Grounded Theory Approach

The purpose of this study is to develop a theoretical model by gaining insight from the life path of former middle-aged female freelance instructors and exploring the formation of their expertise. The researcher selected 11 middle-aged female freelance instructors as a theoretical sample, collected data through in-depth interviews, and theorized the collected data through systematic grounded theory. The participants in this study became professional instructors by achieving work-life balance (WLB) through nomadic reflection during the process of developing their instructional expertise. Accordingly, ‘middle-aged female professional instructor's insight and liberation of nomadism' was derived as a core category of the theoretical integration analysis step. Through the study using the theoretical model it was found that the participants discover their own value through self-introspection and continuous self-directed learning, and built their expertise by drawing innovative growth. Therefore, in this study, the experience of reconstructing and expanding the subjective life of middle-aged women was modeled. In recent years, as the demand for lifelong learning has increased, the importance of establishing the status and qualifications of freelance instructors has emerged and active discussions have been taking place. This study suggests that the process of formation should be considered as an important factor in the discussion of adaptive expertise, especially in the expertise research. In addition, this study attempted to present theoretical and practical implications through research on the formation process of instructor expertise, which is insufficient when compared to competency research.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구의 목적은 전직한 중장년 여성 프리랜서 강사의 삶에 대한 경로를 통찰하며 전문성이 형성되어가는 궤적을 탐색하여 이론적 모형을 개발하는데 있다. 연구자는 프리랜서 강사로 활동하고 있는 중장년 여성 11명의 연구 참여자를 이론적 표집으로 선정하여 심층 인터뷰를 통해 자료를 수집하고 체계적 근거이론으로 수집된 자료를 단계적으로 이론화하였다. 연구 참여자들은 강사 전문성 형성 과정에서 노마디즘적 성찰을 통해 일과 삶의 균형(Work-Life Balance: WLB)을 이뤄가며 전문 강사로 거듭났다. 이에 ‘WLB 중장년 여성 전문 강사의 노마디즘 통찰과 해방’을 이론 통합 분석단계의 핵심 범주로 도출하였다. 이론 모형을 통해 나타난 연구 참여자들은 자기내면의 탐색과 주도적인 지속학습을 통해 스스로의 가치를 발견하고 혁신적인 성장을 끌어내어 전문성을 구축해가는 것을 발견하였다. 이에 본 연구에서는 중장년 여성이 주체적인 삶으로 재구성하여 확장하는 경험을 모델화하였다. 최근 높아진 평생학습 요구에서 프리랜서 강사의 지위확립과 자질의 중요성이 대두되어 활발한 논의가 이루어지고 있는데, 본 연구는 특히 전문성 연구에서 적응적 전문성 논의의 중요성으로 형성과정을 고려해야 한다는 시사점을 준다. 아울러 본 연구에서는 역량 연구에 비해 미흡한 강사 전문성형성 과정 연구를 통해 이론적‧실천적 시사점을 제시하고자 한다.
