기업교육 전문강사의 삶에 대한 질적 사례 연구 : 강의경험을 중심으로

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구의 목적은 프리랜서로 활동하는 기업교육 전문강사(이하 전문강사)의 삶을 이해하고자 하는 것이며 이를 위해 전문강사의 강의 경험을 중심으로 연구하고자 했다. 연구 목적을 달성하기 위한 구체적 연구 문제로는 첫째, 전문강사로서 자신의 삶에 대한 인식은 무엇인가? 둘째, 연구 참여자들은 어떤 과정을 통해 전문강사가 되었는가? 셋째, 전문강사로서 어떤 강의 경험들을 가지고 있는가？ 넷째, 전문강사가 된 후 이들의 삶은 어떻게 변화되었는가? 이다.
이를 위해 본 연구는 질적 사례 연구 방법을 사용했으며 전문강사의 삶을 이해하고자 전문성과 인지도를 가진 5명의 전문강사를 연구 참여자로 선정하여 심층 면담을 진행했고 연구 참여자의 강의 및 발표 참관 경험을 연구 과정에 반영했다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같다.
첫째, 연구 참여자들은 전문강사로서 자신의 삶에 대해 전체적으로 만족하였으며 긍정적, 부정적 인식을 모두 가지고 있었다. 또한 강의 활동에 대한 의미에 있어서는‘밥벌이’의 도구가 아닌 삶의 가치를 실현하는 사명과 의미를 가진 수단으로 인식하고 있었다.
둘째, 연구 참여자들은 사내외 강의 경험을 활용하거나 자기주도적 노력과 공식/비공식적 학습, 필요한 전문역량의 개발을 통해 전문강사로서 자신들의 역량을 발전시켜 갔다.
셋째, 연구 참여자들은 전문강사로서 성취와 좌절의 강의 경험을 포함하여 다양한 상황에서의 강의 경험을 가지고 있었다.
넷째, 연구 참여자들은 전문강사로 활동 후 다양한 변화를 경험한 것을 알 수 있었다.
이러한 연구 결과를 바탕으로 본 연구는 4가지 결론을 도출할 수 있었다.
첫째, 전문강사가 갖는 삶에 대한 인식은 통합과 균형을 지향하는 것으로 나타났다. 개인의 가치관과 신념은 부정적 현실을 있는 그대로 받아들이는 것과 한 쪽으로 기울어질 때 균형을 찾는 데 중요한 역할을 하는 것을 알 수 있었다.
둘째, 전문강사로서 실제적인 전문역량을 얻는 과정에서는 공식적/형식적 학습보다 비공식적/비형식적 학습을 통해 전문역량을 확보하는 것을 알 수 있었다. 공식적/형식적 학습이 전문강사에게 기본자격을 줬다면 비공식적/비형식적 학습은 실제적인 강의 역량 향상에 도움이 됐다.
셋째, 전문강사의 강의 경험은 주변 환경과 전문강사간 상호작용의 연속이며 다양한 주체와의 연결은 강의 경험에 있어서 중요한 의미를 부여한다. 이러한 상호작용은 전문강사로서의 삶에 대한 인식에도 영향을 줬다.
마지막으로 전문강사는 스스로 성장과 학습지향성을 강화시켰고 이것은 전문강사의 삶을 변화시키는 큰 도구가 되었다. 변화의 시도와 이에 따른 결과는 전문강사의 삶에 대한 인식, 역량 확보와 강의 활동으로 이어지는 일련의 과정속에서 나타나는 것을 알 수 있었다.
본 연구는 HRD 분야 중에서 거의 다뤄지지 않았던 프리랜서 전문강사의 삶에 대한 질적 연구다. 전문강사의 삶과 강의 경험에 대한 이해를 바탕으로 HRD 분야와 전문강사들에게 도움을 주고자 하는 데 의의가 있으며 연구 말미에는 전문강사의 성장을 위한 실천적, 이론적 제언을 제시했다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study aims to understand corporate education professional instructors who freelance and, in order that, it is to research mainly teaching experience of the professional instructors. This study set specific research inquiries to achieve the purpose. First, what are perceptions on their life as a professional instructor? Second, what processes could the research subjects do to be professional instructors? Third, what experience do they have as professional instructors? Fourth, how change their life after they become professional instructors?
For this research, this study used qualitative case study method, and it selected 5 professional instructors who have expertise and awareness to understand their life and this study operated in-depth interviews. It reflected visiting experience on the research subjects’ lectures and presentations. Research results are same as follows.
First, the research subjects generally satisfied their life as a professional instructor, and they have both of positive and negative perceptions. Also they perceived meaning of their teaching not as a ‘living tool’ but as means of realizing their life values including mission and meaning.
Second, the research subjects had developed their competency as a professional instructor through improvements such as utilizing internal and external teaching experience, self-directed efforts, formal and informal studies, and required expertise.
Third, the research subjects had various experience as a professional instructor including fulfillment and frustrations of teaching experience.
Fourth, the research subjects had experienced various changes after becoming a professional instructor.
Based on the research results, this study could deduce four conclusions.
First, perception on life the professional instructors have aims at integration and balance. This study could identify that individual values and beliefs play an important role to make balance when accepting negative reality as it is and leaning to one side.
Second, this study could verify that they have more had expertise from unofficial and informal learning than official and formal learning in the processes getting actual expertise as a professional instructor. When official and formal learning could give the professional instructors basic qualification, unofficial and informal learning helps develop actual lecture competencies.
Third, teaching experience of the professional instructors is a series of interaction between around environments and professional instructors, and connecting various subjects could give important meaning for teaching experience. The interaction influences perception of life as a professional instructor.
Finally, the professional instructors reinforced themselves to become developed and learning oriented, and it became a huge tool to change life of professional instructors. This study could find that attempts to change and results from the attempts occur in a series of processes from perception on life of professional instructors to ensuring competency and to instruction activities.
This research is a qualitative study on life of freelance professional instructors, which has not been covered among HRD fields. Based on understanding life and teaching experience of professional instructors, this study has a significance to help HRD fields and professional instructors. In conclusion, this study presents practical and theoretical proposals for growth of professional instructors.
