This study was aimed to suggest the ways of experiential education as one of the teaching and learning methods to enhance learning motivation of students on Korean literature. Existing experiential learning is nothing more than a visit to historical or cultural places, museums, spaces that are the backgrounds of the literature, and life spaces of the author. However, it is more important to develop dynamic and sensory experiential education programs that maximize the local heritage and the experiential learing that enables students to understand the literature through socio-cultural context and the internalization through the linkage between the text and our lives. Therefore, this sutdy was to conceive an experiential education program using the concept of eco-museum centered on Manhae who is one of the most important author in the secondary school curriculum and his works.
The setting of the experiential space using the eco museum concept is based on the fact that it can utilize the cultural heritage of the community as a teaching and learning resource and engage the students in the problem solving process to activate and maintain the cultural heritage in the community. Students are expected to present various alternatives to practical problems that are closely related to their lives. In doing so, the interests of Manhae's works might increase and it is possible to expect self-directed learning, which allows learners to expand their discovery path by themselves.
Although there are still many limitations in running experiential learning programs using the eco-museum, it is meaningful that the internalization of literature would take place by creating an environment that can stimulate the sensitivity and imagination of literature. In addition, experiential education through sensory and dynamic education programs will help students to develop creativity beyond the limits of the school education, which was centered on knowledge.
