애착과 심리적 독립이 진로발달 및 선택에 미치는 영향에 관한 국내 연구의 동향 = The Effect of Attachment and Psychological Separation on Career Development and Choices: A Literature Review in Korea

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

It has been suggested by many studies that the quality of psychological attachment experience would play an critical role on career development and decision making of an individual. The purpose of this study was to review literature regarding the relationship between attachment and career development/choice in Korea. Sixty five articles published during last 10 years in Korea were reviewed and analyzed in various ways. The results showed that the subjects of research used in more than half of the research were college students. Second, the variety of scales used in empirical research was quite limited to one or two measures. The topic of research was also limited to the relationship between attachment and the level of career decision making. Research on the relationship attachment and career exploration behavior, career readiness, and career barrier etc. were not explored much. Fourth, most research except one were empirical research exploring causal relationship between attachment and career development/decision and/or testing group differences. Finally, some of the research explored the impact of parents on career development /choice of their children. Some of issues on research topic and methodology were raised and discussed. And several implications were suggested for the future research.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

애착과 심리적 독립 변인을 통해 개인의 효과적인 진로발달과 선택 과정을 설명하고자 하는 연결성은 다음 몇 가지 측면에서 중요하다. 첫째, 안정된 애착은 진로발달에서 가장 중요한 요소의 하나인 탐색능력을 촉진하고, 둘째, 진로발달과 선택과정에서 경험할 수 있는 진로장벽의 어려움을 극복하는데 도움을 줄 수 있으며, 셋째, 진로발달과 선택의 심리적 자원이 되는 개인의 정체성 형성에 기여한다. 마지막으로 안정된 애착은 심리적 독립을 촉진함으로써 진로발달과 선택으로 이어질 수 있다. 국내외적으로 이러한 연결성을 바탕으로 한 많은 연구들이 이루어졌지만, 특히 우리나라의 경우, 자녀의 진로발달과 선택에 있어 부모와의 상호의존성이 중요한 규범으로 작용하기 때문에 부모와의 관계가 보다 중요한 의미를 갖는다. 이에 본 연구는 부모와의 애착과 심리적 독립이 자녀의 진로발달 및 선택에 미치는 영향에 관한 최근 10년간의 국내연구 66편을 초, 중, 고, 대학생의 발달 시기에 따라 분석하여 동향과 향후 과제에 대해 살펴보았다. 분석결과 첫째, 연구대상 면에서 절반 가까이 대학생에 집중되었고 학령이 내려갈수록 연구가 감소하는 경향을 보였다. 둘째, 발달단계별 연구주제 면에서 대학생은 진로결정, 초․중학생은 진로성숙 연구가 대다수를 차지하였다. 셋째, 해당 변인을 측정하는 도구가 1～2개에 집중되는 경향을 보였다. 넷째, 연구방법에 있어서 통계분석은 거의 대부분 회귀분석을 통해 인과관계를 검증하거나 비교분석을 통해 차이검증을 하는 양적 연구가 대부분이었고, 영향을 미치는 경로를 확인하기 위한 시도가 증가하는 추세에 있었다. 다섯째, 연구결과 면에서 대조적인 결과들이 다소 있었으나 전반적으로 애착과 심리적 독립이 진로발달과 선택을 유의미하게 설명해 주는 것으로 나타났다. 마지막으로, 애착이나 심리적 독립에 대해 부모의 시각을 반영한 연구는 없었고 모두 자녀의 자기보고식 회상에 의한 지각을 통해 반영되고 있었다. 향후 연구대상과 연구주제, 연구방법 면에서 두루 보다 다각화가 이루어져야 할 것으로 보인다.
