대학생의 취업준비비용 지출의지 및 정도와 구직효능감 분석 = Analysis of University Students' Volition and Degree to Pay Employment Preparation Cost and their Job-Seeking Efficacy

Korea has continued youth unemployment problems after financial crisis. Under this situation, efforts of university students to increase the opportunity for employment are related to strict employment race. One of the situations which are triggered by this severe employment race is employment preparation cost. Nowadays, many students spend huge money improving their employment abilities such as studying on foreign languages or obtaining various kind of certificates addition to their regular school education. But indiscreet payout is able to increase both economical and physiological stress. In addition that doesn't guarantee any employment either.
Therefore, this research investigated the voluntary or compulsive volition and job seeking efficacy of the 837 students of four years course universities. The university students are willing to pay the employment preparation cost categorized into voluntary and compulsive volition. The job seeking efficacy is categorized into employment target, motive, powerfulness and skill.
The result showed the difference in the payment volition by their sex, grade and school location. According to abilities of payment for jobs, university students showed the significant difference on job seeking efficacy. However, the highest paying group showed lower average value than others on the job seeking efficacy part. In conclusion, payment volition of university students for preparing employment affected job seeking efficacy.
As a result, to improve job seeking efficacy, developing their ability is more important than paying for employment expenses with voluntary volition. It was verified that the necessity of continuous research for those costs and efforts for preparing employment.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

외환위기 이후 우리나라의 전반적인 고용위기와 함께 청년실업 문제 역시 지속되고 있고, 이러한 상황은 대학생들의 과도한 취업경쟁으로 이어지고 있다. 취업경쟁으로 인해 야기되는 현상 중 하나로 취업준비비용을 들 수 있는데, 취업의 가능성을 높이기 위해 많은 대학생들이 학교 교육 외에 외국어와 자격증 등 교육훈련비용을 비롯하여 해외연수비용, 구직서류 작성비용, 외모 관리 비용 등 높은 금액의 취업준비비용을 지출하고 있다. 그러나 계획적이지 않고 무분별한 비용지출은 경제적으로나 정신적으로 스트레스를 가중시킬 수 있을 뿐만 아니라, 취업을 보장하지도 못한다. 이에 본 연구는 4년제 대학교 재학생 837명을 대상으로 취업준비비용의 지출의지와 구직효능감을 조사하였다. 취업준비비용에 대한 의지는 자발적 의지와 비자발적 의지 등으로 분류하고, 구직효능감은 구직목표, 구직동기, 구직강도, 구직기술 등 4가지로 설정하였다. 대학생의 학년, 학교 소재지, 성별에 따라 취업준비비용 지출의지에서 차이를 보였으며, 취업준비비용 지출 정도에 따라서 구직효능감의 차이를 나타냈는데, 가장 높은 비용을 지출한 집단은 구직효능감에서 오히려 낮은 평균값을 나타냈다. 또한, 취업준비비용 지출의지와 항목별 취업준비비용이 구직효능감에 영향을 미치는 것으로 확인되었다. 본 연구를 통하여 대학생이 취업준비비용을 지출함에 있어 비용의 많고 적음보다는 자발적으로 자기능력 계발 및 자기성장의 의미를 찾는 것이 구직효능감을 높일 수 있음이 제시되었으므로 대학생의 취업준비비용과 취업준비행동의 순효과와 역효과에 대한 지속적인 연구의 필요성을 제언한다.
