Since the Industrial Revolution, the development of industries using fossil fuels and rapid economic growth have caused various environmental changes at the global level. Among many environmental issues, the issue of air pollution has been mentioned quite continuously, and interest in indoor air pollution as well as outdoor air is increasing at present. In particular, polluted indoor air can be fatal for growing students compared to healthy adults, and poor indoor air quality in school classrooms, where students spend most of their daily lives, can cost health and system investment and operation costs to improve indoor air.
In this study, we first identified indicators for evaluating indoor air quality as well as the current status of evaluating indoor air environment. The cost of health (disease) and the cost of improving indoor air in school classrooms were analyzed, and the cost reduction and improvement benefits were analyzed. Based on DB, an air environment control system that can be installed in schools, a health impact cost-effect model was devised, and guidelines for applying the system to school buildings were presented.
