초등교사들은 현장체험학습을 어떻게 계획하고 실천하는가? = A Survey on Primary School Teachers` Perceptions and Practices of School Field Trips

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The currents study compared and contrasted two groups of elementary school teachers who showed different perceptions, attitudes and practices towards school field trips. Ten elementary school teachers (Group B) enthusiastic and passionate about their school field trips were identified and selected by the authors, while thirty teachers (Group A) were randomly sampled for comparison. The approximate 20- min phone calls were used to probe their perceptions and practices concerning school field trips. The Group A teachers see field trips as an educational opportunity to offer experiences which are not available in regular classrooms. These experiences are often connected with school curriculum, contemporary issues or the features of field trip place, and prepared and summarized through pre- and post-field trip sessions. Whereas, Group B teachers frequently used the programs which professional travel agency operates and their programs were less associated with school curriculum. The findings suggest that preprofessional and continuing education are needed to improve teacher knowledge and skills about effective place-based field trip.
