노인의 지각된 자기효능감이 자아통합감에 미치는 영향 - 영성의 매개 및 조절효과 검증- = The Effect of Perceived Self-Efficacy of Aged People on Ego Integrity - The Mediating and Moderating Effect of Spirituality -

The purpose of this study is to reconsider the necessity of an integrated service on physical, material, emotional, and spiritual assistances in welfare for seniors, by verifying intrinsic factors that affect ego-integrity of seniors. For this purpose, mediating and moderating effects on spirituality were tested while examining the effect of self-efficacy, one of intrinsic resources in aged people, on ego integrity. 100 aged peoples aged 65 years or above visiting OO Senior Welfare Center and 100 aged peoples visiting soup kitchen of OO Welfare Center in j city of Chungbuk were selected as subjects of this study for collection and analysis of data. Major results of this study are as follows. First, self-efficacy perceived by aged peoples was 3.48, ego-integrity was 3.54, and spirituality was 3.61. Second, demographic factors that commonly influenced perceived self-efficacy, ego-integrity, and spirituality of seniors were family circumstance, health status, and leisure activity. Third, mediating and moderating effects on spirituality were only found in terms of horizontal dimension(existential spirituality). About the effect of perceived self-efficacy in aged peoples on ego-integrity, horizontal dimension of spirituality was found to have partial mediating effect. Analysis on moderating effect showed that higher horizontal dimension (existential spirituality) of spirituality helps improve ego-integrity under identical level of self-efficacy.
Accordingly, this study suggested that it is necessary to develop a program to reinforce intrinsic resources like self-efficacy and existential spirituality by connecting ego-integrity with extrinsic factors influencing ego-integrity of aged peoples such as leisure activity, since successful form of aging in seniors is to accomplish ego-integration.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 노인의 자아통합감에 영향을 미치는 내적요인들을 검증함으로써, 노인복지실천에서 신체적, 물질적 지원과 더불어 정서적, 영적 지원을 포함하는 통합서비스의 필요성을 재고하고자 하는 목적을 지니고 있다. 이에 노인의 내적자원 중 하나인 자기효능감이 자아통합감에 미치는 영향에서 영성의 매개 및 조절효과를 검증하였다. 연구를 위해 충북 J시의 ○○노인복지관을 이용하는 65세 이상 노인 100명과 ○○지역복지관의 무료급식소를 이용하는 노인 100명을 대상으로 자료를 수집하여 분석하였다. 본 연구의 주요한 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 5점 척도 기준으로 노인들이 지각하는 자기효능감은 3.48, 자아통합감은 3.54, 영성은 3.61로 나타났다. 둘째, 노인의 지각된 자기효능감과 자아통합감, 영성에 공통적으로 영향을 미치는 인구사회학적 요인은 가정형편, 건강상태, 여가활동인 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 영성의 매개 및 조절효과 검증결과는 영성의 수평적 차원(실존적 영성)에서만 매개 및 조절효과가 발견되었는데, 노인의 지각된 자기효능감이 자아통합감에 미치는 영향에서 영성의 수평적 차원은 부분매개 효과를 지니고 있으며, 조절효과 분석을 통해 동일한 자기효능감 수준이라도 영성의 수평적 차원(실존적 영성)이 높을수록 자아통합감 향상에 더욱 기여한다는 것을 알 수 있었다.
이에 본 연구에서는 노인의 성공적 노화는 자아통합을 이루는 것이므로 노인의 자아통합에 영향을 미치는 여가활동 등과 같은 외적요인들과 연계하여 내적 자원인 자기효능감과 실존적 영성을 강화시키는 프로그램의 개발이 필요하다고 제언하였다.
