저소득 조손가족 조모의 손자녀 양육 체험이 조모의 삶에 미치는 의미 = The Fostering Experience of Custodial Grandmother in Low-Income Grandparent-Grandchild Family

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 저소득 조손가족 조모의 손자녀 양육 체험이 조모의 삶에 미치는 의미를 발견하고자 현상학적 연구방법인 Colazzi의 연구방법으로 2007년 1월에서 4월까지 강원도 D시에 거주하는 60-70대의 저소득 조모 7명을 대상으로 심층면접을 실시하고 수집된 자료를 분석하였다. 분석한 결과, 저소득 조손가족 조모가 경험한 손자녀 양육체험은 ‘날벼락처럼 삶에 끼어든 손자녀’, ‘보상받지 못한 노년을 만든 손자녀’, ‘양육하기에 자신의 자녀와 다른 손자녀’, ‘가슴에 아린 한으로 맺힌 손자녀’, ‘할머니 엄마로 만든 손자녀’의 5개의 주제 묶음과 19개의 구성된 의미로 도출되었고, 저소득 조손가족 조모의 손자녀 양육 체험의 본질적인 의미는 ‘할머니 엄마’임을 발견할 수 있었다. 본 연구는 연구결과의 일반화에 뜻을 둔 양적연구가 아닌 현상학적 연구로, 연구결과를 일반화시킬 수 없다는 한계점을 가지고 있다. 하지만 본 연구는 저소득 조손가족 조모 손자녀 양육 체험이 조모의 삶에 미치는 의미를 이해하는 데 기초 자료를 제공하고, 손자녀 양육에 대한 저소득 조손가족의 조모의 강점과 약점을 발견함으로써 사회복지정책지원의 현실화, 조모의 스트레스에 대한 사회적 지원, 손자녀의 어머니인 며느리에 대한 감정 정리 지원, 죽음에 대한 준비지원, 양육에 대한 자신감 향상 지원 등을 제안하여 조손가족 조모의 삶의 질을 향상시키기 위한 후속 연구과 정책 및 실천방향을 마련하는데 기여할 것으로 보인다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

To achieve in-depth understanding of the custodial grandmother's fostering experience in low-income grandparent-grandchild family, the Colazzi‘s method for phenomenological qualitative research was applied to examination of in-depth interview of 7 custodial grandmothers who are in an age group between sixties and seventies residing in D city of Gangwon province. Interviews were held individually three times during January～April, 2007. The result shows that the fostering experiences of custodial grandmothers in low-income grandparent-grandchild family were understood by 5 categories: ‛grandchild breaking in grandmothers' lives as unexpected sudden event', ‛grandchild making their lives void without compensation', ‛different grandchild from child whom they brought up as mothers in the past', ‛grandchild driving grandmother's lives to despair', 'grandmothers who must have roles as mothers again'. Although the results of this study have the limitation of generalization due to phenomenological research, it will contribute to accepting and understanding the fostering experience of low-income custodial grandmother, suggesting realization of social welfare policy, and giving psycho-social support on grandmother's fostering stress, emotional control support on grandchild's mother. And it will help to make progams for rebuilding their feelings on daughter-in-laws, preparatory education on their death, improvement on fostering.
