전기에너지 소비행동 관련 요인 연구 = A Study on the Factors associated with Electric Energy Consumption Behavior

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this was to find out the factors related to the level of actual electricity usage. The survey targeted women in Seoul, and 200 housewives were selected and analyzed. In addition to the preparation of questionnaire survey, the data on electric energy use were collected through direct phone call or cellular phone message made each month for 3 months between June when the survey began to September. Major results of this study are as follows. The level of electricity usage was significantly associated with demographic variables such asoccupation, residence type, residence scale and household structure, and was not associated with psychological variables such as optimistic bias, risk awareness, and self-efficacy. The analysis of the impact of overall variables that influence electric energy use showed that the demographic variables had the biggest impact, and particularly, the owner-operator among occupation types, independent residence among residence types, and 66m2 or under among residence scale, and 2 generations or more among household structures appeared to have the biggest impact on electric energy use. The study results showed that the major factors that influence the household use of electricity had demographic characteristics and the electric energy has the characteristics of necessities. It would imply that to change consumers`` electricity consumption behavior, full efforts toward the establishment of the efficient electricity infra such as smart-grid and of strict regulation program were needed most urgently, ahead of efforts toward improving consumers`` awareness. It would be desirable to provide detailed information about the conservation and efficient use of electric energy by the type and scale of residence and household structure when promoting the conservation of electric energy since the demographic variables have great impact on electric energy use.
