청소년의 삶의 만족에 영향을 미치는 요인 -초기 청소년을 중심으로- = Life Satisfaction Factors of Early Adolescents

Objectives: This study examined factors affecting the life satisfaction of students in transition from childhood to adolescence. Methods: Using the data from the Korean Children and Youth Panel Survey of NYPI, the researchers analyzed the data of 2,216 students who were in their first year of middle school and had experienced a decrease in life satisfaction following a significant change in environments. Hierarchical Multiple Regression was used to examine the comparative influence of socio-demographic factors, ego-resilience, school-adjustment, a sense of community, and types of parenting on the life satisfaction of adolescents. Results: Data analysis identified that the life satisfaction of adolescents is affected by gender, health, religion, ego-resilience, school-adjustment, a sense of community, and types of parenting. After controlling for the influences of other factors, the researchers determined that types of parenting had a significant effect on life satisfaction. Conclusions: Using the results as a guide, the authors offered practical suggestions for enhancing adolescents’ life satisfaction.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 아동기에서 청소년기로 전환하면서 삶의 만족도가 낮아지기 시작하는 초기 청소년의 삶의 만족에 영향을 미치는 요인을 검증하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 한국아동청소년패널 데이터 중 중학교 1학년 2,216명의 자료를 분석에 활용하여, 인구사회학적 특성 변수, 개인 심리 및 학교와 지역사회 관련 변인인 자아탄력성, 학교적응, 지역사회인식 변수, 가족관련 변인으로 부모양육방식 변수를 순차적으로 분석에 투입하는 3단계 위계적 회귀분석을 실시하였다. 연구결과 청소년의 삶의 만족에 인구사회학적 특성 중 성별, 건강상태, 종교유무가 유의미한 영향력을 가지고 있었고, 다음 단계에선 자아탄력성, 학교적응, 지역사회인식이 유의미한 영향력을 갖는 것으로 나타났다. 마지막으로 다른 변수들의 영향력을 통제한 상태에서도 부모의 양육방식은 청소년의 삶의 만족에 유의미한 영향력을 갖는 것으로 관찰되었다. 연구결과를 바탕으로 청소년의 삶의 만족을 높이기 위한 실천적인 제언들이 이루어졌다.
