재한 일본 유학생의 특성에 따른 문화적응유형과 대학생활적응과의 관계 = Japanese International Student`s Acculturation Type and Adaptation to College with respect to their Characteristics

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This research investigated how gender, the length of stay, and the purpose of study abroad of Japanese international students would be related to their acculturation types and adaptation to college. One hundred and three Japanese students completed the Scale of Acculturation Type and the Questionaries for Adaptation to College. Among four types of acculturation, the most male students were categorized into Maginalization, while the most female students were classified as Integration. There were differences in the level of college adaptation across the acculturation types. Integration and Assimilation types reported greater adaptation to collage than Separation and Marginalization types did. This study supported the need for studies of Japanese international students, which could be used as a basis for developing policies and strategies which promote their adjustment.
