실내외 놀이환경에서 걸음마기 영아의 놀이행동 연구 = Toddler's Play Behaviors According to Indoor and Outdoor Environments

This study examines toddler's play behaviors relative to indoor and outdoor environments. It also considers the effect of gender on their play behaviors.
24 toddlers (boys: 10, girls: 14) aged average 24.38 months belonging to 3 daycare centers in S city were observed during their free-play time in both indoor and outdoor environments. The scale of play behaviors based on Lee Hyun Kyung (2003), was used to analyze to cognitive play behaviors, physical play behaviors, social play behaviors, and non-play behaviors.
The results of this study show first, that functional-relational behavior, physical play behavior with materials, physical play behaviors on equipments, and simple parallel-play behaviors were more prominent outdoors than indoors, and this study found that unoccupied behavior, and onlooker behaviors were more frequent indoors than outdoors. Secondly, physical play behavior with materials, and symbolic-physical play behaviors were more prominent among boys than girls.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 어린이집 만1세반의 걸음마기 영아들의 놀이행동이 실내와 실외의 놀이환경에 따라, 성별에 따라 어떤 차이를 보이는지에 관한 연구이다. 연구대상은 경기도 S시의 3개 어린이집의 걸음마기 영아들(남아: 10명, 영아: 14명)으로서 평균 연령은 24.48개월이고, 놀이행동의 관찰은 실내·외의 자유놀이시간 동안에 이루어졌다. 놀이 관찰을 위한 연구도구는 이현경(2003)의 연구도구를 수정하여 사용하였는데, 관찰 범주는 인지적 놀이행동, 운동놀이행동, 사회적 놀이행동, 비놀이행동으로 구분하였고, 각 범주별로 실내·외 놀이환경과 성별에 따른 차이를 비교해 보았다. 연구의 결과는 첫째, 사물의 조합, 사물지향 신체놀이, 시설이용 신체놀이, 단순병행놀이가 실내보다 실외에서 더 많이 나타났다는 것이고, 비참여 행동, 방관자 행동의 비놀이 행동은 실내보다 실외에서 덜 나타났다는 것이다. 두 번째는 놀이행동에서 성차를 보인 것은 사물지향 신체놀이와 상징적 신체놀이인데, 이 놀이행동들은 남아가 여아보다 많이 보여주었다.
