다문화가정 어머니의 부모역량강화 프로그램 개발 및 적용

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study is aimed to develop and apply a parental competency enhancement program for mothers of multicultural families to investigate the effects and changes to parental roles, parental role efficacies, and acculturation. The studies in regards to all these processes were conducted on program development and effectiveness upon application. The research questions defined within this study are as follows :
First, what is the configuration of the parental competency enhancement program for mothers of multicultural families?
Second, what are the effects of the parental competency enhancement program for mothers of multicultural families?
Third, what are the changes to parental conpetency while applying the parental competency enhancement program for mothers of multicultural families?
To develop the parental competency enhancement program for mothers of multicultural families, the study was organized into the literary review stage, the survey stage, and program development stage. The major contents of the parental competency enhancement program for mothers of multicultural families developed in such ways are as follows.
The objective of the program is to enhance competencies to perform parental roles as mothers in multicultural families. Specific goals include understanding roles as parents, improved self-management, understanding principles of child development and improved performance, cultivation of resolution abilities for issues related to child education, and improved abilities for new cultural understanding and communication according to changes in era. To achieve such objectives and goals, contents of the parental competency enhancement program included abilities for self-management, communication with children, problem-resolution for child education problems, and ecological and cultural consensus and communication. The teaching-learning method of the program was categorized into teaching-learning principles, teaching-learning pro- cesses, teaching method and mediums, roles of instructors and evaluations for proposal. Teaching-learning principles included principles of mutual learning, principles of self-lead learning, principles of connectivity, and principles of repetitiveness. Teaching-learning processes was separated into 4 stages of understanding, discussing, executing, and evaluating. For teaching method for program execution, lectures, discussions, practical training, demonstrations, modeling, case presentations, Q&As, role playing, coaching, and experience-based activities were selected. Teaching mediums included printed materials, photo images, video data, and internet commu- nities. For program evaluations, comprehensive evaluations and performance evaluations were conducted simultaneously to investigate the effects of the program.
To investigate the effects of the parental competency enhancement program for mothers of multicultural families, 40 mothers of multicultural families within the Seoul and Gyeonggi area were selected (20 experimental group, 20 comparative group) to conduct 12 theme-based programs every Saturday for 1.5 hours from March 10 to June 2, 2012. To investigate the effects of the program, tests on parental roles, parental role efficacy, acculturation, and parental role stress were conducted before and after conducting the program. Collected data was analyzed using SPSS WIN 16.0 through frequency analysis and One-way ANCOVA. To investigate changes in parental competencies during the program process, interview material, self- change reports, reflective journals and opinions on participation were analyzed for use. Through such processes, the effects of applying the parental competency enhancement program for mothers of multicultural families are as follows.
First, after applying the parental competency enhancement program for mothers of multicultural families, the parental roles of mothers within the experimental group were higher than the average of the comparative group, evidencing partial significant differences between the groups. Consequently, it can be inferred that the program is effective in improving parental roles of mothers of multicultural families.
Second, after applying the parental competency enhancement program for mothers of multicultural families, the parental role efficacies of mothers within the experimental group were higher than the average of the comparative group, evidencing a significant differences between the groups. Consequently, it can be inferred that the program is effective in improving parental roles of mothers of multicultural families.
Third, after applying the parental competency enhancement program for mothers of multicultural families, the parental role stress levels of mothers within the experimental group were higher than the averages of the comparative group, evidencing partial significant differences between the groups. Consequently, it can be inferred that the program is effective in improving parental roles of mothers of multicultural families.
Fourth, after applying the parental competency enhancement program for mothers of multicultural families, the acculturation levels of mothers within the experimental group were higher than the averages of the comparative group, evidencing partial significant differences between the groups. Consequently, it can be inferred that the program is effective in improving parental roles of mothers of multicultural families.
Fifth, results of analyzing the aspects of changes in parental competencies appearing during the program process are as follows. From the process of change appearing in four steps, the first change appeared was a new recognition of themselves through the changes inside of them, in turn enabling mothers to recover self- confidence and obtain a positive outlook on life. The second exhibited changes were a positive attitude and confidence on family relations, in turn helping improve relationships within the family. Mothers began observing and understanding the behavioral characteristics of their children which they could not before. Consequently, such induced communication with their children, in turn resulting in a cyclical improvement to parent-children relationships. The third type of change that mothers participated into the program exhibited was assistance within the new culture, in turn accepting the benefits and opportunities of the new environment as a turning point in their lives and utilizing them in establishing child rearing goals and new forms of determination. This provides understanding for social life and improves self-esteem and spontaneity as members of society, and naturally connects to the last stage of "becoming parents that possess vision". Mothers look squarely at the prevalent parental passion for children's education in Korean society and set unyielding child-rearing standards and goals to fulfill their responsibilities in raising their children in order to become mothers ready for their children's future growth.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구의 목적은 다문화가정 어머니를 위한 부모역량강화 프로그램을 개발하고 이를 적용하여 부모역할, 부모역할 효능감, 문화적응에 대한 효과 및 변화과정을 알아보는 것이다. 본 연구에서 설정한 연구문제는 다음과 같다.
첫째, 다문화가정 어머니의 부모역량강화 프로그램의 구성은 어떠한가?
둘째, 다문화가정 어머니의 부모역량강화 프로그램의 효과는 어떠한가?
셋째, 부모역량강화 프로그램의 적용과정에서 나타난 다문화가정 어머니의 부모역량의 변화양상은 어떠한가?
프로그램 목적은 다문화가정 어머니로서 부모역할을 수행할 수 있는 역량을 증진하는 것이다. 구체적인 목표는 부모로서의 역할 이해와 자기관리 능력 증진, 자녀발달의 원리 이해및 실천 능력을 증진, 자녀의 교육문제에 대한 해결능력을 함양, 시대적 변화에 따른 새로운 문화적 공감 및 소통의 능력을 증진하는 것으로 선정하였다. 이와 같은 목적과 목표를 달성하기 위한 부모역량강화 프로그램 내용요소는 부모로서의 자기관리 능력, 자녀와의 의사소통 능력, 자녀의 교육문제 해결 능력 생태 문화적 공감과 소통 능력으로 하였다. 프로그램의 교수-학습 방법은 교수-학습 원리, 교수-학습 과정, 교수방법과 교수매체, 교수자 역할, 평가로 구분하여 제시하였다. 교수-학습의 원리는 상호학습의 원리, 자기주도적 학습 원리, 연계성의 원리, 반복성의 원리이며, 교수-학습 과정은 이해하기, 토의하기, 실행하기, 평가하기의 4단계로 구성하였다. 프로그램 실행을 위한 교수방법은 강의, 토의, 실습, 시범과 시연, 모델링, 사례발표, 질의응답, 역할극, 코칭, 체험활동으로 선정하였다. 교수매체는 인쇄자료, 사진이미지, 동영상 자료, 인터넷 카페가 활용되었다. 프로그램의 평가는 프로그램의 적용효과를 알아보기 위해 총괄 평가와 수행 평가를 병행하여 실시하였다.
다문화가정 어머니의 부모역량강화 프로그램 적용효과를 알아보기 위해 서울 경기권 다문화가정 어머니 40명(실험집단 20명, 비교집단 20명)을 선정하여 2012년 3월 10일부터 6월 2일까지 주 1회 매주 토요일 1시간 30분 정도 실시되었고 12회기의 주제별 프로그램으로 적용하였다. 프로그램의 적용효과를 알아보기 위해 프로그램 적용 전과 적용 후에 부모역할, 부모역할 효능감, 문화적응, 부모역할 스트레스에 대한 검사를 실시하였다. 수집된 자료는 SPSS/ WIN 16.0을 이용하여 빈도분석(frequency analysis)과 일원공변량분석(One-way ANCOVA)을 실시하였다. 프로그램 적용과정에서 나타난 부모역량의 변화과정을 살펴보기 위해 면담자료, 자기변화 보고서, 반성적 저널, 어머니의 참여후기 등을 분석하여 활용하였다. 이상과 같은 과정을 통해 다문화가정 어머니의 부모역량강화 프로그램 적용 효과는 다음과 같이 요약된다.
첫째, 다문화가정 어머니들을 위한 부모역량 프로그램을 적용한 후 어머니들의 부모역할은 실험집단이 비교집단의 평균보다 높게 나타났으며 집단 간 차이는 부분적으로 유의미한 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 본 프로그램은 다문화가정 어머니들의 부모역할을 향상시키는 데 효과가 있음을 알 수 있다.
둘째, 다문화가정 어머니들을 위한 부모역량 프로그램을 적용한 후 부모역할 효능감은 실험집단이 비교집단의 평균보다 높게 나타났으며 집단 간 차이는 유의미한 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 본 프로그램은 다문화가정 어머니들의 부모역할을 향상시켰다고 할 수 있다.
셋째, 다문화가정 어머니들을 위한 부모역량강화 프로그램을 적용한 후 부모역할 스트레스는 실험집단이 비교집단 의 평균보다 높게 나타났으며 집단 간 차이는 부분적으로 유의미한 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 본 프로그램은 다문화가정 어머니들의 부모역할을 향상시켰다고 할 수 있다.
넷째, 다문화가정 어머니들을 위한 부모역량강화 프로그램을 적용한 후 문화적응은 실험집단이 비교집단의 평균보다 높게 나타났으며 집단 간 차이는 부분적으로 유의미한 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 본 프로그램은 다문화가정 어머니들의 부모역할을 향상시켰다고 할 수 있다.
다섯째, 프로그램 적용 과정에서 나타난 부모역량 변화의 양상을 분석한 결과는 다음과 같다.
네 단계로 나타난 변화의 과정 중 가장 먼저 나타난 변화는 자신의 변화를 통한 새로운 발견으로 어머니들은 자신감을 회복하고 삶을 긍정적으로 바라보는 태도를 갖게 되었다는 것이고 두 번째로 나타난 가족관계의 긍정적 변화는 자신감과 긍정적인 태도로 가족관계의 개선을 이루는 모습이 나타나게 되었다. 어머니들은 이해할 수 없는 자녀들의 행동특성에 대해 관찰하고 이해하며 먼저 다가가는 변화를 보였다. 그러므로 자녀들과의 소통을 가져오고 나아가 부모-자녀 관계의 순환적 개선으로 이어지는 결과를 가져왔다. 교육에 참여한 어머니들이 세 번째로 보인 변화는 새로운 문화 안에서 거듭나기로 새로운 환경에서 얻은 혜택이나 기회를 삶의 전환점으로 받아들이고, 그를 이용하여 자녀양육의 목표수립과 실천 의지로 연결하고자 하는 변화양상이었다. 이 단계는 더불어 사는 삶을 이해하고 사회의 일원으로서의 자존감과 자발성을 가지게 하여, 마지막 단계인 “비젼 있는 부모로 나아가기”로 이어졌다. 어머니들은 한국사회의 높은 교육열을 직시하고, 자녀양육에서 자신이 맡아야 할 책임과 실천을 위해 확고한 양육 기준과 목표를 설정하여, 자녀들의 미래성장을 위해 준비된 어머니가 되고자 하는 의지를 보이게 되었다.
