한국사회에서 이주여성의 삶과 사회문화적 적응관련 정책 = Women-Immigrants' Lives and their Social-cultural Accommodation-realted Policy for the Multi-cultural Society

국문 초록 (Abstract)

한국 사회는 1980년대 후반부터 노동자, 국제결혼 등으로 인한 이주자들이 증가함에 따라 이출국에서 이입국으로 변모하고 있다. 그런데 최근 한국의 이주자들은 여성노동자의 증가, 국제결혼의 증가에 따라 이주의 여성화 현상을 보이고 있다. 현재 우리 사회에서 이주자들에 대한 차별대우와 인권침해가 심각하며, 특히 이주여성들은 이주남성과는 달리 폭력, 가정폭력 등 인권침해 속에 있게 되는데 이들은 가부장적 성차별 사회에서 여성·외국인·노동자로서 삼중의 어려움을 겪고 있다. 그러나 이주여성들은 언어, 문화, 관습, 법에 대한 지식의 부족으로 적절한 대응조차 하지 못하는 상황에 있으며, 이주자들의 사회문화적 적응에 대한 프로그램은 거의 이루어지지 않고 있다.
본 연구는 이주여성의 실태를 살펴보고, 이주자관련 정책의 유형과 다양한 배경을 가진 이주자들의 생활실태와 사회문화 적응도 및 이주자들을 위한 정책유형을 고찰하며, 나아가 다문화사회를 위한 이주여성의 사회문화적 적응관련 정책을 모색해보고자 하였다. 특히 이주여성은 이주남성과는 달리 다층적 차별구조 속에 있게 됨에 따라 사회문화적 적응을 위한 정책은 일반적 정책과 함께 특정집단을 위한 정책으로서 이주여성정책을 제시하였다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

In korean society, the number of immigrant has increased by overseas employment and international marriage since late 1980. That is the reason why our society is changing the emigrant's nation into the immigrant's. Woman-immigrants recently have a majority of immigrants in Korea according to the increase of woman-worker and international marriage. There are nowadays in our society discriminating treatment against immigrants and encroachment upon their human rights. Especially woman-immigrant suffers more serious and more various damage than man-immigrants. They are encroached upon human rights such as sexual violence and family violence separately from man-immigrants, so that they are in three troubles as woman, foreigner, and worker in our patriarchy sexist society. In spite of that they cannot cope with the situation due to lack of knowledge about language, culture, customs, and law. There are, moreover, in Korea few programs of the social-cultural adaptation for immigrants.
It is sure in future that the decrease of labor power and limitation of marriage opportunity will be solved by immigration. Immigrant's problem will appear as an outstanding problem in 2020, so their social integration problem will be our important task.
The study from the viewpoint examines the woman-immigrants' actual conditions. It also surveys the type of immigrant-related policy, immigrants' actual life-state, their social-cultural adaptation, and various policies for them. Then it seeks woman-immigrants' social-cultural adaptation-related policy for our multi-cultural society. Because woman-immigrants unlike man-immigrants are in multi- discriminating structure as woman, foreigner, worker in conformity with their situation, the study suggests that the policy for social-cultural adaptation shows the policy for woman-immigrants as a target group policy with a general policy.
