This paper describes the disign of a speech recognition system of isolated words using Zero Crossing and Walsh transform, and analyzes the Walsh power sepctrum of the Korean Speech.
Speech recognition procedure in this system is as follows.
The voice input through a interval filter that reduces impulse noise, is sampled at 8 [KH_(z)], and converted to 8-bit digital signal in A/D converter. The Transformed values are converted with Walsh Transform Algorithm, and Walsh-Transformed values represent the normalized power spectrum which is used to distinguish the energy density of voice and unvoice. Several person's mnemonic voice in Korea is recognized by the rate of 80%.
