K-CBCL 1.5-5와 Gottman의 양육방식 유형에 의한 유아의 정서행동문제와 어머니의 양육방식과의 관계 = Relationships between Child`s Emotional,Behavioral Problems and Mother`s Parenting Style Based on K-CBCL 1.5-5 and Gottman`s Types of Parenting Styles

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study aimed to examine the relationships between child`s emotional/behavioral problems and mother`s parenting style based on K-CBCL 1.5-5 and Gottman`s types of parenting styles. To do this, 550 mothers of children attending preschools in G city were asked to complete a questionnaire. Out of 550 questionnaires, 530 questionnaires were returned(return rate: 96%) and 500 questions were used for data analyses. The data analyses revealed the following results: (a) Children showed a little higher scores in internalizing problems than in externalizing problems and both clinical rate and borderline-clinical rate in internalizing problems were also a little higher than those in externalizing problems. (b) In terms of both the degree of each parenting style and the primary style of parenting, mothers showed the highest score on ``emotion coaching`` followed by ``laissez-faire``, ``dismissing``, and ``disapproving`` in the order of score. (c) There were differences among parenting styles in correlation between child`s emotional/behavioral problems and mother`s parenting style; children with disapproving mothers showed higher score in externalizing problems and total problem behaviors than those with dismissing or emotion coaching mothers; and both clinical rate and borderline-clinical rate in externalizing problems were highest in children with ``disapproving mothers`` followed by ``laissez-faire mothers``, ``emotion coaching mothers``, and ``dismissing mothers`` in the order of rate. The results were discussed and several suggestions were presented for future related research.
