무늬목 엮음기법을 이용한 가구디자인 개발에 관한 연구 = A Study on the development of Furniture Design by rail ties pattern with venner

국문 초록 (Abstract)

목재는 인류가 지구상에 출현한 이래 인류의 생존과 문명 발전에 결정적으로 기여해 왔다.
현대의 생활환경이 급속한 산업화 시대로 발전하면서 플라스틱, 콘크리트 등 화학제품들의 무분별한 사용으로 “환경파괴” 라는 사회문제점이 돌출되고 이를 방지하기 위한 친환경적인 재료들의 사용이 요구되어 목재를 활용한 건축물이나 구조물들을 쉽게 찾아 볼 수 있게 되었다. 점차 고갈되어가고 있는 자연재료의 재활용 방안에서도 탁월한 효과가 있고 친환경적인 면에서도 현대인에게 자연의 소중함과 편안한 공간을 제공하고 정신적, 육체적 건강함을 갖게 해준다는 점에서 목재를 사용한 가구의 인지도 및 중요성이 부각되고 있다.
목재가 인간에게 이렇게 다양하게 공헌을 할 수 있는 주된 이유는 목재만큼 물성과 미관상 필적할 만한 재료가 없다는 것이다. 즉, 다양한 재색, 조직과 문양을 갖고 있으며 다른 재료에 의해서 도저히 기대할 수 없는 촉감과 시각에서 따스한 느낌을 주는 등 사람의 생체리듬과 부합되는 재료이기 때문이다.
이러한 목재의 장점들은 인간생활에서 불가분의 관계라 하겠다.
따라서, 본 논문은 목재를 가공 활용한 천연무늬목을 이용하여 현대가구의 실용적 가치와 기능적 가구의 한계점을 넘어서 자연과의 조화를 느끼며 즐길 수 있는 미적가치 기준으로서의 조형적인 가구디자인이 되고자 노력하였으며 가구디자이너로 하여금 실용적인 면과 함께 재료사용의 다양함을 표현 가능케 하는 창조적인 면에서 의미를 표현 하고자 하였다.
또한 목재의 가공 및 활용에 대한 고찰을 통하여 향후 작품제작 및 활용 면에서도 효율적이고 다양한 응용이 가능토록 하였다.

Mankind has long coexisted with nature, and like all the other living creatures, man's survival is consequently subject to the law of nature.
The human race tried to create better environments to lead a more adaptive and affluent life.
Such a pursuit of a better life has bought a huge change to human life and way of thinking since the Agricultural Age.
When it comes to furniture, the use of wood that is most similar to nature has increasingly been widespread, and functional furniture that is appropriate for a particular living space and lifestyle gains population.
The emergence of the industrial society is followed by environmental disruption, one of grave social issues, due to the indiscreet utilization of chemical products such as plastics and concrete. To remedy the situation, the use of environment-friendly materials is required, and a lot of buildings and structures are subsequently made of wood. The importance of furniture made of wood is increasingly highlighted in that it makes it possible to recycle natural materials that are gradually exhausted. And this kind of furniture enables modern people to learn about the value of nature, to live in environment-friendly and comfortable environments, and to promote their physical and mental health.
The purpose of this study was to make a formative furniture design by utilizing natural veneer in order to produce not only practical and functional but aesthetic modern furniture. And it's also meant to help furniture designers use various sorts of materials in a practical and creative manner, and wood was examined to suggest how to ensure the efficient and diverse application of it in the production and utilization of furniture.
