상징적 사물을 통한 정적 공간의 관계 표현 연구 : 본인의 작품을 중심으로

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

A human, represented by Chinese letters, refers to “人間” meaning an relationship between humans. This means that humans are living forming the relationship with the community (社會) and that humans are social beings.
The author attempted to review the theoretical background of the current work, focused on the relationship where ego (自我) is formed in such aa social phenomenon.
To express this background, the main factor used in the work was applied as a symbol. The symbol is the main expression of the ego. The author attempted to use the ego as a tool to sign or to be representative of the other side in a relationship formed as two things with an independent meaning, which are different in quality and a form, build a relationship in terms of some meaning. The chair that appear as a main thing in the work is a symbol of the self, symbolically showing the relationship between other materials on the picture, namely, the one with the society. In addition, the nature in the picture symbolizes the passing of time, gives the existence to a virtual relationship in the work, and serves as a factor of change in the static picture.
The thing and landscape showing the constituted symbolic meaning gives a sense of security with the vertical or horizontal composition, at the same time contrasting in saturation and with such visual change elements as the diagonal line. The picture structure was aimed to express mystery and vainness at the sam time through the Depaysement representations of surrealism.
Therefore, this study purposed understanding the relationship between humans and society through the analysis of the background formed, content, form of the author’s work. In order to obtain the results for this purpose, the study attempted the visual process of the relationship using the symbol in content aspects and the static space in form aspects, Then, it tried to investigate a method of reasonably expressing the relationship about the ego and the society.
While conducting the study, the author came to understand how the symbolic object in the painting forms the subject and what visual phenomenon it leads to meeting with presentation elements on the picture. The study then attempted to show how it is recreated through the social phenomenon and the author’s personal experience.
The study was intended to express that this process is that the author’s job is the condensed results of the times and the social structure by reviewing the works to date and identifying the theoretical significance according to the background of those works.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

인간이란, 사람 인(人)과 사이 간(間)의 조합으로 사람 사이의 관계를 말한다. 이는 인간이 사회(社會)와 관계를 형성하며 살아간다는 것을 의미하며, 또한 인간이 사회적 존재임을 나타낸다.
이와 같은 사회현상에서 본인의 자아(自我)가 형성되는 관계를 중심으로 현재 작품의 이론적 배경을 고찰하고자 한다.
이러한 배경을 표현하기 위해 작품에 사용한 주된 요소가 상징이다. 상징은 사람 즉, 자아의 주된 표현으로, 본인의 작품 속에서 질적, 형식적으로 다른 두 가지의 것이 서로 독립적인 뜻을 가지고 있으면서 어떤 의미로 관련을 맺고 한 편이 다른 편을 표징 또는 대표하는 도구로 이용하고자 하였다. 작품에서 주된 사물로 나타나는 의자는 자아의 상징으로서 화면 속 다른 소재와의 관련성을 통한 관계 즉, 사회와의 관계를 상징적으로 보여준다. 또한 화면 속 자연은 시간의 흐름을 상징하여, 작품 속 가상의 관계에 실존성을 부여하고 정적인 화면 속에서 변화의 요소로 작용한다.
이렇게 구성된 상징적 의미를 가시적으로 보이는 사물과 풍경은 수직 혹은 수평의 구도로 안정감을 주며, 동시에 채도대비와 사선과 같은 시각적 변화 요소들과 대비를 이룬다. 이러한 화면 구조는 초현실주의의 데페이즈망적 표현방식을 통해 비현실적인 분위기를 조성하여, 신비감과 허망함을 동시에 표현하고자 하였다.
따라서 본 연구는 본인 작품의 형성배경과 내용적, 형식적 분석을 통해 인간과 사회의 관계에 관하여 이해하고 이것을 시각화 하는 것에 목적을 둔다. 이러한 목적의 결과를 도출하기 위해서 내용적 측면에서의 상징과 형식적 측면에서의 정적공간을 이용하여 관계의 시각화 과정을 정립하고, 자아와 사회에 대한 관계를 객관적이고 이성적으로 표현할 수 있는 방식을 연구하였다.
연구를 진행하면서 회화에서의 상징적 사물이 어떻게 주제를 형성하는지, 화면상의 표현 요소들과 만나 어떠한 시각적 현상을 이루어 내는지에 관해 이해하게 되었다. 그리고 이것이 사회적 현상이나 작가 개인의 경험을 통해 어떻게 재창조 되는지를 보여주고자 하였다.
이러한 연구과정은 현재까지의 작품을 살피고, 그 과정인 작업의 배경에 따른 이론적 의의를 밝힘으로써 본인의 작업이 시대와 사회구조의 축약적 결과물임을 표현하고자 하였다.
