노년기 여가활동과 사회자본 및 삶의 만족 간의 관계 = The Relationship between Elderly Leisure Activities, Social Capital, and Life Satisfaction

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study was to explore how the elderly’s leisure activities influence their social capital and how leisure activities and social capital affect their life satisfaction. In order to investigate hypotheses, 500 senior citizens who reside in Seoul metropolitan areas and are older than 55 years of age have been surveyed in May 2010. The major findings are as follows: First, productive leisure activities and outdoor consumptive leisure activities have positive effects on social capital and indoor consumptive leisure activities has negative effect. Second, productive leisure activities, outdoor consumptive leisure activities and social capital show positive effects on life satisfaction but indoor consumptive leisure activities shows negative effects on life satisfaction. Lastly, when an elder participates in productive leisure activities with others from the same interest group and engages in consumptive leisure activities with family or friends, it is found that these elderly show higher quality of social capital and life satisfaction.
