아버지와 어머니의 부모역할지능이 유아의 성별에 따른 또래유능성과 일상적 스트레스에 미치는 영향 = The Effects of Father’s and Mother’s Parental Intelligence on Young Children’s Peer Competence and Daily Stress according to the Children’s Gender

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study aimed to examine the potential characteristics of parental role in the development of peer competence and daily stress experienced by young children through analyzing how father’s and mother’s parental intelligence influences their young children’s peer competence and daily stress according to gender. For this purpose, data on related variables were collected from 133 young children attending two kindergartens in Seoul and their parents. According to the results of analyzing the data, mothers were significantly higher in intelligence for developmental stimulus and parenting among the sub-factors of parental intelligence, and fathers in intelligence for management. However, no difference was observed in father’s and mother’s parental intelligence according to the children’s gender. What is more, the influence of father’s and mother’s parental intelligence on children’s peer competence and daily stress was different according to the children’s gender. Thus, it is necessary to raise parents’ parental intelligence in consideration of the influence of parental intelligence on young children’s peer competence and daily stress. In addition, it was discussed that it is necessary to help young children establish peer relations and to enhance the effectiveness of daily stress management by promoting mutually cooperative role performance in consideration of father’s and mother’s strengths of parental intelligence according to children’s gender.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 부모역할지능의 일반적 경향과 아버지와 어머니의 부모역할지능이 유아의 성별에 따른 또래유능성과 일상적 스트레스에 미치는 영향력이 어떠한가를 분석해봄으로써 유아의 또래유능성 형성 및 일상적으로 경험하는 스트레스와 관련된 부모역할지능의 잠재적 특성을 살펴보는데 목적을 두고 실행되었다. 이를 위해 서울시 소재의 유치원 두 기관의 유아 133명과 그들의 부모를 대상으로 관련변인에 관한 자료를 수집하였다. 분석결과, 부모역할지능 중 발달자극역할과 양육역할에 대한 지능은 어머니가, 관리역할에 대한 지능은 아버지가 유의하게 높은 것으로 나타났으나, 유아의 성별에 따른 아버지와 어머니의 부모역할지능은 차이가 없는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 아버지와 어머니의 부모역할지능이 유아의 성별에 따라 또래유능성과 일상적 스트레스의 특정 영역에 미치는 영향력이 상이한 것으로 나타났다. 이에 유아의 또래유능성과 일상적 스트레스에 대한 부모역할지능의 영향력을 고려하여 부모의 역할지능 수준을 제고해나갈 필요가 있으며, 특히 유아의 성별에 따른 아버지와 어머니 역할지능의 강점을 고려하여 상호 협력적인 역할을 수행함으로써 유아의 또래관계 형성과 일상적 스트레스 관리의 효과성을 높일 필요가 있음을 논의하였다.
