아버지 역할지능에 대한 양육신념 및 자녀기대감의 영향 = The Effect of the Father's Parenting Beliefs and Expectation on the Father's Parenting Intelligence

The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of the father's parenting beliefs and expectation on the father's parenting intelligence(FPI). The research questions are as follows.
First, how do the father's parenting beliefs, expectation and the FPI? Second, how do the relations among the father's parenting beliefs, expectation and FPI? third, how do father's parenting beliefs and expectation effects on the FPI? The subjects of this study were 126 fathers of children age 0 to 6. The results are as follows. First, the father's parenting beliefs emphasized character, maturation and collectivism. The fathers had high expectation of their children's physical, cognitive and social competence. A appropriate parental roles were performed by the fathers in parenting situation. Second, a negative correlation was found between the father's parenting beliefs of maturation vs environment and the father's care-giving and nurturing roles. Also a negative correlation was found between the father's parenting beliefs of collectivism vs individualism and the father's nurturing role. A correlation was found between the father's of his child's physical competence and the father's management role. Also a correlation was found between the father's expectation in cognitive competence and father's care-giving and nurturing roles. Third, some variables such as the father's parenting beliefs of maturation vs environment and the father's expectation of his child's creativity have been found to have a meaningful correlations with the father's sympathy role. Also the father's expectation of his child's creativity was related with the father's encouragement role. The father's parenting beliefs of maturation vs environment were related with the father's enhancement role. The variables that explain the father's flexibility were the father's parenting beliefs of maturation vs environment and his expectation of his child's intelligence competence. The variables that explain the father's acceptance and refusal roles were the father's expectation of his child's social competence and creativity. The variables that explain the father's control role was the father's expectation of his child's morality.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 아버지 역할지능에 대한 양육신념, 자녀기대감의 영향을 알아보아 보고자 하였다. 연구문제는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 아버지의 양육신념, 자녀기대감, 아버지 역할지능의 일반적 경향은 어떠한가? 둘째, 아버지의 양육신념, 자녀기대감과 아버지 역할지능과의 관계는 어떠한가? 셋째, 아버지 역할지능에 대한 아버지의 양육신념, 자녀기대감 설명력은 어떠한가? 본 연구는 아버지를 대상으로 한 설문지 126부를 분석하였다. 주요연구결과는 다음과 같다.
첫째, 아버지 양육신념의 전반적 경향은 인성강조의 신념, 성숙주의 신념, 전체주의 신념의 경향을 갖고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 아버지의 자녀기대감의 전반적 경향은 신체적 역량기대, 인지적 역량기대, 사회적 역량기대에서 모두 높은 기대를 가지고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 아버지 역할지능은 발달자극, 양육 및 지지, 관리역할 모두를 비교적 잘 수행 하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 아버지의 양육신념 및 자녀기대감과 아버지 역할지능과의 상관관계를 살펴본 결과, 아버지의 양육신념 하위요인들과 자녀기대감 하위요인들 간에는 유의미한 상관관계가 없었고 아버지의 성숙 대 환경강조 양육신념과 아버지의 발달자극역할, 양육 및 지지역할과 부적상관이 전체 대 개인강조 양육신념과 양육 및 지지 역할과 부적상관을 나타내었다. 아버지의 신체적 역량기대와 관리역할, 인지적 역량 기대와 발달자극, 양육 및 지지 역할과는 유의미한 정적상관관계가 나타났다. 반면, 사회적 기대와 아버지 역할 지능과는 유의미한 상관이 있는 변인은 나타나지 않았다. 셋째, 아버지 역할지능에 대한 아버지의 양육신념, 자녀기대감 요인들의 설명력을 살펴본 결과 아버지의 공감역할을 설명하는 변인은 성숙 대 환경 강조의 신념과 창의성에 대한 기대, 격려역할을 설명하는 변인은 창의성에 대한 기대, 증진역할을 설명하는 변인은 성숙 대 환경 강조의 신념으로 나타났다. 아버지의 융통성 있는 역할을 설명하는 변인은 성숙 대 환경 강조의 신념과 지적유능성에 대한 기대로 나타났으며 거부와 수용의 역할을 설명하는 변인은 두 역할 모두 창의성에 대한 기대와 사회적 유능성에 대한 기대로 나타났다. 아버지의 통제역할을 설명하는 변인은 도덕성에 대한 기대로 나타났다.
