국문 초록 (Abstract)

프랑스의 작곡가 Claude Achille Debussy (1862-1918)는 예술적으로 자신의 주관적인 관점을 뚜렷이 갖고 있었던 작곡가이다. 고전시기와 낭만시기를 따라 내려오던 관습적인 음악형식이나 사조를 따르기를 거부하고 프랑스 문학가들과 화가들의 사조를 흡수하고 음악에서의 인상주의를 이루어 갔다.
C. A. Debussy는 상징주의 시의 순수한 언어 자체의 느낌에 집중하는 작법에 영향을 받아 Paul-Marie Verlaine (1844-1896), Theodore de Banville (1823-1891), Stephane Mallarmee (1842-1898)의 시를 이해하고 선택하여 자신의 음악 안에서 언어보다 덜 직설적이고 표현의 자유가 더욱 풍부해 지도록 선율로 표현하였다.
Quatre chansons de jeunesse에 포함된 두 곡은 C. A. Debussy의 특징을 잘 보여주는 대표작 중 하나이다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The French composer Claude Achille Debussy (1862-1918) had a strong and firm idea for his musical language. He was not in favor of following the traditional musical form and language that has been passed down from Classical to Romantic Period but was interest in the contemporary idea of the French writers and artists which led to the Impressionism in music.
C. A. Debussy was influenced by the technique of the Impressionism poem which was to concentrate on the feeling of the word itself. He studied the poems of Paul-Marie Verlaine (1844-1896), Theodore de Banville (1823-1891), and Stephane Mallarmee (1842-1898) and selected some to express them in more expressive and free melody in his music.
The unique musical language of C. A. Debussy is well shown in the two pieces form Quatre chansons de jeunesse.
