Art needs basically a comprehensive understanding of it and accordingly, it cannot be defined as a one and only concept. Nevertheless, however, it is clear that art is a kind of mental outcome which is firmly based on the artist's internal necessity. But if we accept it, then we also should recognize the fact that his artistic behavior cannot be escaped from a dominant trend of that time. In that sense, it could be argued that the artist is the man who continues to search his reason of being and meaning of life through some issues that occur in his daily life.
Under the circumstances, I have found special interest in expressing the spirit dwelling in the real world as well as the vitality of human beings. And, I have particularly focused on the process for images seen in daily life to acquire autonomy in the space of painting. For this reason, this collection of paintings was the result of process in which images come from the everyday life secure autonomy.
In Chapter Ⅰ, focusing on the fact that nonrealistic abstract world was given much more emphasis than reproducing realistic objects as the modern times began, I reviewed the psychological approaches based on subconciousness to subject and expressional methods. In addition, I analyzed the abstract impulse that was the source and the origin of creation that transformed the sensation inherent in us into images. The following Chapter Ⅱ explained the playful sensitivity that offered the possibility going toward the unification based on being positive. It is because my works were the result of expressing the images in my memory through inherent sensation as well as play. Also, I analyzed the matter of space in which the inherent sensation was magnified or reproduced via the playful mind. Lastly, in the Chapter Ⅲ, I reviewed the subjects related to color and shape and formative and style features of the works focusing on the expressional techniques of my works. The process to discover the pictorial meanings and logical bases of my works has not only contributed to setting the new direction for the future works but also showed the possibility to go toward the world of being positive that intends to unify and overcome the duality of this world.
