청소년의 수줍음과 우울의 관계에서 자아탄력성의 효과검증 = The effect of ego resiliency in the relation between shyness and depression among adolescent

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구에서는 청소년의 수줍음과 우울의 관계를 알아보고 수줍음을 극복할 수 있는 보호요인으로써 자아탄력성의 역할을 검증함으로써 수줍은 청소년에게 도움이 될 수 있는 기초 자료를 제공하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 경기도 소재 3개 중학교 2, 3학년 학생 400명을 대상으로 설문을 실시하였다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 수줍음, 자아탄력성, 우울의 관계를 알아보기 위해 상관분석을 실시한 결과, 수줍음은 우울과 서로 유의한 정적 상관을 보였고 수줍음과 자아탄력성 그리고 자아탄력성과 우울은 각각 유의한 부적 상관을 나타냈다. 둘째, 수줍음이 우울에 영향을 미치는 과정에서 자아탄력성이 어떤 역할을 하는지 검증하기 위해 매개효과 및 조절효과 검증을 실시하였다. 그 결과 수줍음과 우울의 관계에서 자아탄력성은 조절효과를 나타냈고, 매개효과는 보이지 않았다. 즉 자아탄력성은 수줍음이 우울에 미치는 영향을 완충시키는 보호요인으로 작용하고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 끝으로 본 연구의 의의와 제한점을 덧붙였다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This paper examines the relation between shyness and depression among adolescent and scrutinizes the role of ego resiliency as a protective factor among shy adolescents. Four hundred students in the second and third year of middle school in Gyeonggi-do, South Korea, were surveyed for this study, and the findings are as follows: First, the relation of shyness and depression were significantly positive relation while the relations of shyness-and-ego resiliency and ego resiliency-and-depression significantly negative relation. Second, mediating effect and moderating effect were analyzed to see what role ego resiliency plays while shyness is influencing depression. The analysis shows that ego resiliency seems to have a moderating effect on the relation between shyness and depression, but it did not seem to have a mediating effect. In other words, ego resiliency was found to be a protective factor that buffers the effect of shyness on depression. Significances and limitations of this study are stated in the concluding paragraphs.
