모둠별 허브식물 원예활동이 초등학교 저학년 학생의 교우관계와 학급응집력에 미치는 영향 = The Effects of Group Horticulture Activity of Herb Plant on the Improvement of Peer Relation and a Class Cohesion in the Lower Grades Elementary Students

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Living in the rapidly changing modern society, we go through a lot of activities in a variety of human relations. Especially, for students in low classes in elementary school where they establish the basis of social life, it is not too much to say that their classmate relationships have considerable effects on the improvement of their sociality, personality and emotion. Thus, the purpose of this study is to investigate what effects of Group Horticulture Activity of Herb have the classmate relationship and the class cohesion of low graders in elementary school so that it may provide basic data for the improvement of desirable classmate relationships and class cohesion.
As a result of investigating the change of classmate relationships through Group Horticulture Activity of Herb, there were no significant statistical difference between the experimental group and the control group, but in the post-test of the experimental group, there were significant large differences shown in all the subordinate factors of the classmate relationship, such as amiableness for colleagues(p<0.01), support and acceptance(p<0.001), cooperative human relation(p<0.01), and social prospect(p<0.001), which indicated that Group Horticulture Activity of Herb have positive effects on the improvement of elementary school low graders' classmate relationship.
As for the change of students' class cohesion before and after the herb gardening activity in groups, as a result of the pre-test, there was no significant statistical difference between the experimental group and the control group, but in the post-test, the experimental group not only increased average values in all the five subordinate factors, compared to the control group, but showed significant statistical differences(p<0.001), which indicated that Group Horticulture Activity of Herb have positive effects on the improvement of elementary school low graders' class cohesion.
In conclusion, on the basis of the study results, it is required to prepare creativity, independence and cooperation-oriented practical-course curriculum when students are in lower grades. It is also needed to provide a diversity of materials about gardening activities, expand chances to take training and develop various programs for gardening activities. Finally, it is necessary to activate the programs of gardening activities in groups during the education at school for the improvement of elementary school low graders' classmate relationship and class cohesion.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

급속하게 변화하는 현대 사회를 살아가는 우리들은 다양한 인간관계속에서 많은 활동을 하며 살아간다. 특히 사회생활의 기초를 형성한다고 할 수 있는 초등학교 저학년 학생들에게 있어 교우관계는 사회성과 성격 및 정서함양에 지대한 영향을 미친다고 해도 과언이 아니다. 이에 본 연구는 모둠별 허브원예활동이 초등학교 저학년 학생의 교우관계와 학급응집력에 어떤 영향을 미치는지를 밝혀 바람직한 교우관계와 학급응집력 향상의 기초 자료를 제공하고자 하는데 목적이 있다.
모둠별 허브식물 원예활동을 통한 교우관계 변화를 살펴보면, 사전 검사에서 실험집단과 통제집단 간의 교우관계는 통계적으로 유의미한 차이가 없었으나, 실험집단의 사후검사에서는 통제집단에 비하여 교우관계의 하위요인인 동료에 대한 호감(p<0.01), 지지와 수용(p<0.001), 협동적 인간관계(p<0.01), 사회적 조망(p<0.001) 모두에서 높은 유의한 차이가 나타나 모둠별 허브식물 원예활동이 초등학교 저학년 학생의 교우관계 증진에 긍정적으로 영향을 미치는 것을 알 수 있었다.
모둠별 허브식물 원예활동 전후 학생들의 학급응집력 변화를 보면, 사전검사 결과 실험집단과 통제집단 간 통계적으로 유의미한 차이가 없었으나, 사후검사에서 실험집단은 통제집단에 비하여 5가지 하위요인 모두에서 평균값이 상승하였을 뿐만 아니라, 통계적으로 유의한 차이(p<0.001)를 보여 모둠별 허브식물 원예활동이 초등학교 저학년 학생의 학급응집력 향상에 긍정적인 영향을 미친다는 것을 보여주었다.
따라서 본 연구 결과 초등학교 저학년 학생의 발달과정을 고려한 창의적이고 자주적이며 협동중심적인 실과교육과정은 저학년에서부터 마련되어야 하며, 원예활동에 대한 다양한 자료제공 및 연수기회 확대, 다양한 원예활동 프로그램의 개발이 필요하며 초등학교 저학년 학생의 교우관계 및 학급응집력 향상을 위한 모둠별 원예활동 프로그램이 학교교육에서 활성화될 필요성이 있다.
